This was my first time at Kincaid's, not for my two companions. Let me just say the best part of the evening was the personable and friendly security guard who we spoke with prior to entering the restaurant.
The food itself was good, but pricy for the portions we received. I had the Seafood Trio and the other two in the party had lobster tails and filet mignon.
The ambiance was nice and we were lucky and had a table right by the window with incredible views of the bay.
The worst part was the service. We were not paying for the dinner, but if it had been up to me there would have been no tip or very little. Our waitress was Judy and she was rude, condescending and extremely off putting. If you are going to ask customers a question, at least stick around to hear the answer.
Customer service is so important for a business and this service was horrible. We will not be returning.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

For the nearby restaurants that consistently serve prime rib (not as a special), I've tried Kincaid's, San Mateo Prime, and Broadway Prime. This review is for Kincaid's.
FOOD
I think San Mateo Prime and Broadway Prime taste pretty much the same, including sides. Their creamed spinach is really weird - like cream cheese goop with spinach, and both places taste the same. The baked potato at San Mateo Prime slightly edged out Broadway's because it came nice and hot. Overall, for both prime rib and sides, I prefer Kincaid's (but no popover at Kincaid's) for prime rib alone, it's the best in the area for me so far (including better than Rise Woodfire). Kincaid's mashed potatoes were pretty tasty.
SERVICE
Broadway Prime had hands down the best service.
San Mateo Prime was OK, I have no complaints.
Kincaid's had pretty slow service, we had to hunt for our server multiple times and it also took forever and multiple asks to get whatever was requested.
AMBIANCE
Kincaid's had the best vibe and you get a view. It's a large restaurant and feels contemporary. Broadway Prime has an old school steakhouse vibe, and worn in - in a good way, like a neighborhood mainstay. San Mateo felt like a slightly more formal steakhouse than Broadway.
TL;DR
Good luck getting service yet I'd still come back for the prime rib - have yet to find better prime rib nearby.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

Reservations can be made on OpenTable.
There's lots of parking, with a parking attendant at the entrance.
It was my first time at Kincaid's and was pleasantly surprised. Our server was helpful (it was my first time there), patient and attentive. The view of the water is so nice, especially around sunset.
The food was good. The portions were bigger than I anticipated but a little overcooked. The molten chocolate cake wasn't what I expected. I was hoping the cake would be filled with liquid and the outer layer more like a cake texture. The molten chocolate cake was more like a truffle.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

- J M.San Francisco, CA10259414Apr 15, 2024Updated review32 check-ins
We had two items tonight. The smoked pork chop with strawberry chutney and the Seafood Louie Salad.
The seafood Louie salad had grilled salmon and shrimp, asparagus, cucumber, hard-cooked egg and 1000 Island dressing. I was pleasantly surprised that the salad returned to its original size, as the last time I had it, it was a petite small plate salad with very little of anything for the same price. It was excellent tonight.
The pork chop was grilled with juniper berry brine, vegetables and oven roasted fingerling potatoes. The pork chop was excellent and the berry brine was a great complement to the meat. I thought the veggies, including the fingerling potatoes to be a little sad. Green beans were undercooked and the broccolini and carrots were uninspiring. The potatoes were just bland.
We also had a dessert tonight--the crème brûlée, which was very good.
The view of the bay from the seats was amazing tonight. The restaurant has a beautiful setting.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

Nov 15, 2023Previous reviewI was very pleased with my dinner tonight. I had the grilled trio of salmon, shrimp and scallops. Each was perfectly cooked and came with a butter sauce and mashed potatoes. A side of veggies was included. I also had the creme brulee, and it was exceptionally good.
Service was excellent and the view of the water is a nice touch.Sep 7, 2019Previous reviewThis is an update, as I was not happy with Kincaid's tonight. The tomahawk pork chop was disappointing. The chop was thinner than a cut of this type is typicality presented, but worse is that it was overlooked and dry.
The pan seared shellfish fettuccine was prepared well, but was dry and needed more sauce.
The server had an attitude, and was condescending. This was not a good night for the restaurant.Jan 9, 2019Previous reviewKincaid's always has fresh, tasty food. I really like their prime rib and seafood dishes. Today I had the steelhead trout, which was served on a bed of spinach, squash and gnocchi. Prices are on the high side, but they have a rewards club and have specials often.
Service was excellent. - Brian I.Culver City, CA015Apr 24, 2024
From the start, we had a really great experience here. The food was amazing. The wine was wonderful. The appetizers were excellent. If you get the dragon fizz, you won't regret it. Also, there was a very friendly and accommodating parking lot attendant, agent Franklin, who was extremely helpful.Agent Franklin is a greataddition to the ambience and experience. 10/10.

Came on Thanksgiving day at around 2pm since my family and I were in the area and saw that they were open!! Great location, near the bay and in a quiet area. Plenty of parking. We didn't have a reservation so only the patio was open but it was a nice sunny day outside!
Service was a bit slow but given that it was a holiday. Since it was Thanksgiving there was only one set menu- a 3 course all inclusive dinner.
Caesar salad was good!! Very lightly dressed which I enjoyed. Clam Chowder and Lobster Bisque were both on the salty side although the lobster bisque was so salty I could barely eat it. The lobster bisque also had a weird bitter taste to it- do not get!! The main courses we got (prime rib, seafood trio, and ciber brandy salmon) were okay, nothing much to say pretty standard. The desserts were pretty good- got the creme brulee, pumpkin pie, and warm chocolate cake. Definitely one of those restaurants you go for the ambiance not really the food!Helpful 3Thanks 1Love this 1Oh no 0Business owner information

Great security. They have a security guard monitoring the parking lot. He was great. We arrived at the restaurant on a rainy night, which is rare in California.
Our server, Anthony attended our table. It was a busy evening as the dining room waS packed. Anthony took our drink and appetizer orders. We started off with cocktails and oyster on a half shell. Delicious.
We ordered our entrees and a bottle of wine with dinner. We also ordered a wedge salad to share. They were kind enough to split our entrees.
We also enjoyed their creme brulee for dessert to end our lovely evening.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

We were so excited to come here. It was a beautiful spring evening and we sat waterfront with spectacular views of the bay and airport. The vibe was business/casual and very comfortable. Our waiter was kind and had great recommendations of wine to go along with our prime rib dinner which allowed us to stay within our price point while encouraging us to try something special that would compliment our meal. His recommendation was on point and we really enjoyed our meals.
Really an amazing evening, would go so far as to say, epic! This is somewhere I would return to again for a special occasion or celebration.Helpful 1Thanks 1Love this 1Oh no 0Business owner information
