Never judge a book by its cover! My first time here and I quickly thought the food would be disappointing. Boy was I wrong! I had to try a few things on the menu to give it a good review.
The cheese enchilada was perfect! The sauce was gravy like and had the right kind of seasonings. It was delish!
The menudo was fresh and cooked to perfection. The homemade tortillas de harina hit home with the fresh barbacoa. They even had Mexican Coke! You can't have Mexican food without an authentic Mexican soda! Will I be back? Most definitely! The service was on point and friendly. This place is a must try!

First time here I ordered a cheese and ham omelette. Now this is a Mexican food restaurant. Their tacos or great well so are their omelettes. Couldn't be happier with the food here. Plan on eating here more often.

Horrible. Waited an hour after ordering. All of the plates came out in 10 minute increments. There were only 2 other tables filled. Ordered the $13 catfish platter and got one rubbery filet with almost no batter. Kevin's cafe is absolute shite

Me and my co worker went in here and us out of town and "self righteous" gringos give this place 10 damn stars. Super polite server and food is amazing.

All the bad reviews are from out of towners. Everyone knows the protocol. If you get there late you're gonna wait, call in. The whole town is here on Sundays. Everything on the menu is delicious. If you know how to order, tortillas are always free. Try it or not, we know what you're missing out on, but the owners don't care about non locals opinions as they cook for the hard working people in town, not self righteous gringos stopping to judge a small family business in a poverty stricken town. Delicious south Texas style Tex Mex fit for a king.

Great restaurant, the food was very good. We came durning a track meet. Very fast services and the breakfast was tasteful and fresh. Eggs were made to perfection along with there homemade hash-browns.
Bacon was crispy which made it all wonderful. Tacos were huge and homemade tortillas made it all worth it!!!
To bad we don't live here, but will be back soon
Hats off to our waitress, her patience and joyful personality help us seat a party of 12.

Casual atmosphere. Friendly service. Hometown cooking. This place must be THE place to go for Saturday morning breakfasts in this area, as it was constantly filled with patrons. The majority of this restaurants menu was breakfast, lunch and dinner Mexican food, however we indulged in some good old fashioned American sausage, toast, pancakes, eggs and potatoes. Our server, Mr Jamie, was friendly & attentive & pushed my review from 3 stars to 4.

Service was quick, sweet ice tea was awesome. Drank 3 in one sitting.

Best cincos in town! The carne asada taquitos were extremely good and well priced.
Whole menu well priced and fresh ingredients!!
Highly recommend this restaurant if you're coming from out of town.
      Very clean and surprising!

Good food but the wait is a little much. The staff is friendly but not very responsive as far as people getting discouraged 30 to 45 minutes into the wait time. The poor lighting and dungeon like feel to the place made the comfort ability level drop significantly. All and all it's a good place to call in an order to but I wouldn't be upset if I never went back.
