Sophia and I stopped here for lunch on Veterans Day. This was actually a 2nd option after one place we were going to was unfortunately closed for the day. But it was a good thing we came here. The crowd was minimal, a great thing for the both of us. One of our favorite spots in the area.
We order Agedashi Tofu for appetizers. Not a bad choice to start off for your meal. We had this before and was just as good. Lightly fried and plenty of tempura sauce to spread. For the main course, I picked the lunch bento Dragon Box, which was a half Dragon Roll, BBQ Salmon Roll, one fried spring roll, miso soup, salad and fruit. This was truly filling indeed. For my first time having the Dragon Roll, it was a wise choice. They did not skip out on the amount of eel and avacado at all. The next time I visit, this will be one of my choices. And the BBQ Salmon roll was pretty good as well. Along with the sides, I got full for the afternoon. Definitely can't beat that.
Just like always, a really nice meal. As you know, we will be back. Till next time :)Helpful 4Thanks 1Love this 4Oh no 0Jun 20, 2021Previous reviewThis was my 2nd time coming to this restaurant, 1st since the pandemic. Just like last time, my girlfriend and I were with two friends of ours with a reservation in place. But the main difference is we managed to get a semi-private room. Talk about great service. And even better, great food for all of us.
For my order, I chose the Agedashi Tofu with tempura sauce for dipping and the Volcano Roll which is deep fried consisting of tuna and crabmeat. Every was very delicious. The tofu was lightly fried and very hot (make sure to get a fork instead of chop sticks) which burned the inside of my mouth, which was my mistake. But very good nonetheless. And the Volcano Roll tasted really great. Usually, I dip rolls in soy sauce, but with this one, you really don't have to do such. All the flavors are there, including a hint of spice which was not overpowering. And the presentation on the plate was fantastic. I normally don't include any aioli on my sushi, which is mayo-based, but with the combination of that and the sauce, the result was perfect. And everyone else enjoyed their selection as well.
A very nice Thursday night for all of us. We will be here again and hopefully obtain that private space. If not, then oh well.....Mar 7, 2020Previous reviewMy girlfriend and I met some friends of ours on a Thursday evening for dinner to this spot in the Kiln Creek area. It's been on my Yelp radar for some time and was a quick trip since we live in Newport News. At the end of the day, everyone was impressed with our meals, the décor and the excellent service.
For our apps we ordered the stir fried pork gyoza. Well cooked and tasty along with the sauce for dipping. Unfortunately, I only ate two to make room for my main entrée, the Unagi Don. For this dish, it's BBQ Eel on top of rice with some soy sauce drizzle and avocado on top along with miso soup as a side. Normally, I don't order miso soup these days, but this one was pretty good with plenty of flavor. The main entrée......I admit it took some time to get used to eating. When I eat eel at a sushi restaurant, it would be as a sushi roll, one that I always enjoyed. At first when I started to eat the dish, I was going in my head 'Did I make the right decision in picking it?' And the answer would be yes. The eel was well-seasoned and you can actually taste a slight crunch from the skin underneath. And great call to have the avocado as a topping. It went very well with the eel and rice. A delicious dish that was worth ordering.
Again, I had a wonderful time here. This here will definitely be a repeat and I believe my friends would say the same thing. - 1758393953Dec 3, 2023
First time here and it was very yummy!
Service was nice and polite as well as prompt!
For food we had the following and all was very good:
Volcano roll, soup, salad, vegetable tempura and fried rice.
The only thing I would not get again was the steak and shrimp hibachi. The steak and shrimp were a little tasteless and overcooked. Also the yum yum sauce was not that great.
My husband also had a sake that was good.
Can't wait to go back and try some more sushi!Helpful 7Thanks 0Love this 6Oh no 0 - 5393388Nov 30, 2023
Keep sushi is delightful and fresh, with very good customer service. The California and shrimp tempura rolls were great and I love that they added eel sauce (I believe) to the top. I enjoyed the flavor way more than I would have guessed.

Just had an amazing dining experience at Kero Sushi! The freshness and quality of their sushi are top-notch, and the prices are surprisingly reasonable. The tempura items were fried to perfection--crispy and delicious. The combination of quality and quantity exceeded expectations. The service was outstanding, and the bustling atmosphere indicated a well-loved spot. Kudos to Kero Sushi for a memorable meal! #SushiDelight #TempuraPerfection #KeroSushiExperience"

This is my favorite spot for sushi as of now. The fish is always fresh and they really take care in the way they present it. The sushi boat for two or three is worth it at $49.95 because you're getting a ton of sushi- and it's fresh and good quality fish vs. some of the AYCE places where the quality suffers. The service here is always great, sometimes it can get extremely busy though. The restaurant is decorated nicely, it's been the same for years. If you want some quality fish try Kero!
Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0May 19, 2023Previous reviewKero is one of those places that you can expect great service, a clean restaurant and super fresh sushi. I always enjoy coming here because I'm always greeted kindly by one of the waitresses that I've known for years. The food is always fresh and the appetizers are priced a lot less than competitors so I really enjoy that aspect. The sushi itself is excellent, the fish is always super fresh and moist, they really put a lot of care into building their sushi and also their display- 10/10 and great for a date night. Parking is easy.
Feb 5, 2023Previous reviewWent for a quick lunch. I ordered a spicy combo bento box lunch special and my
Husband got the chicken udon noodle soup. My son got the spicy crab salad, and everything we ordered was excellent, the service was great as usual. The ambiance is always nice, the restaurant is always clean. They are also very reasonably priced.Sep 17, 2022Previous reviewAlways a pleasure coming here when I can. We came for an anniversary lunch. Service was excellent, super fast. Server was attentive. We ordered the sushi boat, and every piece of fish was fresh and amazing. We usually order the lunch bento boxes which are our favorite go to because of price and variety. We will definitely be back again and again!

The service is always great everyone is super friendly ensuring you're taken care of. The restaurant is always low lit creating an intimate and relaxing dining ambience wether it's with friends or as a date night. The sushi is always the best quality with incredible flavor and appearance. They offer great lunch combos and have an extensive a la cart, entree, and appetizer menu. With the sushi boat we ordered you also get a soup or salad for each person up to3 as it is a boat for 2-3 people.

Came in for dinner on a Thursday evening. Seated after a few minutes and we took a while looking over the menu, there was a lot to look at. We finally decided on the fried pork dumplings, a volcano roll, and a dancing tuna roll.
The dinner came with a salad or soup and I had the salad and was totally unimpressed. Iceberg lettuce with ginger sauce. Anyway, the pork dumplings were very good and the sauce they were served with was delicious. The volcano roll was crunchy and very tasty. The dancing tuna roll was good except for the tuna. It was very mushy and had the consistency of mush. The rest of the roll was great though.
Our waitress was nice and very quick to take our order and let us look at the menu. We will try it again.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Sep 3, 2023Updated review
Stopped in on a Sunday evening - maybe because it's a holiday weekend but it wasn't busy at all. The staff were very attentive and the chefs made the rolls in no time. We ordered an appetizer of the Pork Gyoza- 7 pieces for $4.99 which I think was a good deal. We had bowls of miso soup and it was delicious. My daughter had a Spicy California Roll, I had a Volcano Roll and a Dynamite Roll. Both were cooked options and very filling. I had to get my second roll to go as I was full before it came out about ten minutes after the rest of our rolls. They said they do not offer a military discount here - I always ask and I do believe this location used to offer it. I did notice on the blinds by the front windows of the restaurant that they were visibly very dirty. If we eat here again I will ask to sit in the back of the restaurant as it isn't very good to think what else is dirty. But the food is good so if overlook the window blinds.

We were seated right away which I was relieved as I initially saw no empty seats. I was also relieved to see that they had their lunch menu and specials even on weekends - a lot of places don't offer that. Me and my daughter each ordered the 3 for $10.95 lunch special which includes a soup or salad- we both opted for the miso soup. Everything was delicious and fresh and it came out within 8 minutes of ordering. Definitely check this place out and I saw a new tea place next door I will be checking out soon as well.
