It was my first time here with my friend. We both ordered different type of facials.
I selected the Organic kind since that seems to be a rave. It was great, the service, quite music in the background. The room is not the most well designed or very pretty to look at. However, the service was great.
My facial was done by a woman named Michelle. She was awesome, giving a nice shoulder rub to complete off the facial too.
I got a lot of nice compliments and many said that my face particularly glow...lol. I guess it's good to get a facial once a month then.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Eudora Z.San Francisco, CA22788112Apr 19, 2012
This place looks small with minimal decor but their service @ the Commercial street office is great! I have gone to the Millbrae location and did think that the ladies at the Commercial location are better.
To get things started, I bought a package with them $200 or so for 4 organic basic facials with the 5th one free. Not bad right? It gets better. After the facial, they give you really relaxing head/neck/holder massages. Totally worth the $40!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Colby and Yesenia G.San Bruno, CA62928Feb 6, 2009First to Review
This review is for the Kay's in Millbrae.......I like the treatment ...Joanne is very good, however some of her comments can be taken as racist ....She seem very immature as a person but as aesthecian she is great. The place is very loud so if you want to relax, this is not the place. I had the Microdermabrasion procedure done. This was my first time getting this procedure done... Joanne was great at taking me through whatever she was doing. I don't know if I would go back again.

This is a comment on Kay's in the Millbrae location.
I tried this after I saw an ad. The ad clearly states "exfoliation and blackhead extraction" as part of the facial. When I opted for this treatment, I was disappointed that there was none of the advertised services. The charge was the same though, no kidding.
I also have to say that the lady who helped me kept me inside the room while running in and out. Was she double booked? I did not like the idea of being half naked, with things over my eyes, and having the door left ajar. This is not just a privacy issue but a security breach.
I was told to "buy the membership, much better". Better for what, I am not sure. I would advise anyone contemplating this place to 1) know what you want and stick to this; they will try to cross-sell you, putting profit before any client's needs. 2) Be vigilant. There is a lot of things happening, and there is no sense of customer service. I mean, leaving a customer alone while another thing or person is being attended to is not an exercise in efficiency but a typical Chinese style of running a business. 3) Do not buy any membership until you try this place at least once. If your experience is different than mine, consider what I shared.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Cho W.San Francisco, CA01Sep 10, 2009
Attracted by their price advertised on the newspaper, I made an appointment and had an organic deep clean facial. And that facial pissed me off enough to motivate me to get a yelp account and write about it!
I don't go do facial very often, but this has got to be the worst facial I have EVER got. The place itself is nothing fancy, but I guess that's what you get for that kind of price. OK, so the facial started, I was left under the steam machine for the longest time. I heard new customers coming in, people talking and walking around, but since my eyes were covered, I had no idea what's taking her so long to come back. During the facial she kept mentioning about my face was very dirty that I should come more often. And I can assure you my face was not that dirty, I do keep up at home. I can't imagine any lady would appreciate anyone keep saying her face is VERY dirty. Toward the end I just totally ignored her. The rest was history, just typical procedures.
However, my nightmare started. My face was completely red when I left the place. I thought it was just because she deep cleaned my face so that's just some irritations. But I was wrong, it has been a couple days already, my face is now at its worst ever. Let me see where to begin... My cheeks are dry and still red; I got more pimples than before, than ever, and they are all huge; my face is not smooth; and oh yeah, skin on my nose started peeling! How AWESOME!
I blame myself for trying this price out based on the price. I would NEVER EVER go back.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - bebe w.San Francisco, CA01Aug 17, 2010
I wen to try the promotion that had on newspaper. I guess the price is cheaper than other beauty salon. Should not expect too much about the environment of the place. I end up having a big zit after the treatment. sucks!!
