Our mission is to help take the guesswork out of home renovations by providing quick and efficient full-service remodeling. By "full service," we mean that our team can handle every aspect of a job, including lighting and other electrical work, HVAC, ventilation, plumbing, carpentry, and any other required services. Stay away they are crooks and will take a down payment and never follow up and make delivery of what they promise order Windows last October couldn't get paper work of plans to present to condo board for replacement Windows took serval follow up phone calls over 6 weeks once we got that done they could never give me date of installation which never happen nothing but excuses and stories from they lost and had to replace staff finally was able to speak with owner that never Went anywhere able time reach out to him hear every story that he was in hospital and other phony excuse stories. One year later
800.00 down payment and never got Windows installed
Have to file complaint with Illinois Attorney General's office

I am having a horrible experience with this company. Sadly I got a shower installed by them a year and a half ago. Now the shower door leaks somehow to produce a sizable puddle of water after every shower. They give a life time guarantee of their products/services. Well. I now have placed 8 phone calls and left 7 voice mails. I have yet to hear back.

RUN away from Katlia. Extremely poor execution and experience. Took well beyond 6 months to complete a small bathroom.
Katlia has a good front end sales process which leads you to believe you are getting a high end product and process which could justify the premium price. Sadly, their project management and process is an insult to the profession. The further we went, the worse it got. All the way to Katlia's "ownership".
I'm quite confident I could find a contractor on Craigslist and have the same, if not better experience for much cheaper. Not to mention that Katlia uses small operation, man in a truck, Subcontractors, which again, we could have hired on our own for cheaper, but went with Katlia hoping for a higher quality experience.
I'm sure our project wasn't their biggest priority, but if you can't scale your business to meet customer needs, don't take the project.

Wish I could give negative 5 stars.
On 12/31/15 we closed on a new house. 1/9/16 a Katlia sales rep, David, came to our house to quote 8 new windows. We discussed choosing a different design for the arch but he didn't have his design book with him. Since Katlia always sends another guy after the initial sales visit to take final measurements prior to ordering the windows, he said that guy will have a design book and then we could choose a pattern. Based on trust that we would be able to choose a different pattern, we agreed to move forward and paid a $4,000 deposit.
1/15/16 the project Mgr, Ben, conducted his site visit to take final measurements. Surprising, he didn't have a design book with him so I was unable to choose the arch pattern. He also informed me that the portico needed to be fixed before the windows above the portico could be properly measured and installed. He informed me that he needed to go back to the office to discuss the portico situation with people more knowledgeable in roofing and get back to me. At that point, Katlia could not move forward with window replacement. This is 6 days after their 3 day cancellation policy.
1/25/16 Vince and Ben came to the house to quote the portico repair. We were advised by our attorney to obtain 2 additional quotes. 1/26/16 I spoke with Katlia and informed them that we could not move forward because we needed to obtain additional quotes and we may be in a legal battle with the owner who sold us the property. We were not sure how long it would take to resolve the portico issue.
2/2/16 I called David to explain our situation and told him that we needed our deposit back. He said that since the windows hadn't been ordered yet, it should not be an issue but that he didn't make those decisions and I had to talk to Vince, the owner.
2/3/16 I called Vince twice, he didn't return my calls. When my husband called him later that night and stated on Vince's voicemail that we wanted our deposit back, he called back within minutes. Incredulously Vince claimed that our deposit could not be returned because the windows were ordered on 1/16/16. Really? So the windows were ordered despite the fact that we had yet to choose an arch pattern, despite the fact that proper window measurements above the portico were taken and despite the fact that the project mgr Ben stated that the windows could not be replaced until the portico was repaired.
When my husband demanded copies of paperwork documenting that the windows were ordered, they could not produce it. My husband asked Vince if it was true that the windows were ordered, what would happen when the windows above the portico didn't fit and Vince had the audacity to say that they would just put the windows in our garage. What??? When my husband expressed that we are losing trust in the people at Katlia, Vince had the nerve to state that my husband was the one who couldn't be trusted. Are you kidding???
If this is how they treat their customers before work even begins I would hate to find out how they treat their customers after work is completed should problems arise.

Terrible company. Never return calls. Took money from a friend of mine a year ago for a job and never did it. Never got quotes for me.

Contract was signed 3/28/16, down payment of $6,800 given the same day (check), and cashed the next day. We were told this project would take under 1 month to complete. After the contract was signed and the deposit was paid, the Katlia workers came to our home fewer than than 10 times in 5 months. There were several no calls and no shows. As the months went by, with very little progress, we made at least five requests for a project plan and schedule by both email and text and we never received a reply or acknowledgement of those requests. After demo and some plumbing, electric and framing work was completed, we were informed that Katlia had not submitted the paperwork for the remodeling permits, despite multiple requests by us early on. Rather than expediting the permit filing process, Katlia attempted to persuade us to skip the permit process to avoid the fees, delays and increases to our taxes. We refused, resulting in another two weeks waiting for the permits to be filed. We believe the inability to file for a permit was due to one or more of their contractors not being licensed, another indication of the lack of licensing was the use of non-compliant plumbing materials and extensive work that had to be redone to pass code inspection.
In the end, we paid Katlia $11,800, and the only work done correctly was the demolition. We had to bring in a licensed contractor to assess the existing work, obtain the proper permits. rework Katlia's errors and finish our job. On 9/2/16, we requested a refund for the work that was done incorrectly, and also a refund for work not performed at all. As of 10/9/16, our request is still pending. Run.

I now have a lien against my house because of this company!!! They subcontracted the work on my roof to another company, and NEVER paid them, even though I paid Katlia every cent they asked for!!!! I have called, left messages, texted and been ignored for over a month since I got a notice in the mail about the lien. Once you sign a contract with this company, they are terrible - don't show up, can't keep a schedule, and obviously don't return calls. VERY unprofessional. This company is very Shady. Lies to you and misses appointments. We contracted in January and they refused to issue refund even though no work was done 8 months later. Was told permits were pulled but village said they were never even applied for. Stay clear of this company at all cost

We where told that it would be finished in 4 weeks. Its now June and no work has been done and no permits where applied for. We gave a $26,000 deposit and requested a refund 2 months ago. They missed several appointments with out notice and have done no work.

They are several weeks behind schedule on installation of Windows. I have contracted local lawyer Battaglia to litigate for a full refund and legal expenses.

We had an extensive kitchen renovation started by Katlia in September 2014 (we signed the contract in December 2013) and I am so disappointed to say it is still not complete! I have to say the quality of the work that was done is good. The workers know what they are doing and work hard. The biggest problem has been project management and communication - tons of delays and multiple, often conflicting reasons for the delays. Now we are stuck because Katlia says we ok'd a $13,000 overage on our cabinets. We had agreed to go $4-6,000 over budgeted amount to get the color we wanted but not &13,000! Katlia insists we did ok it but we were never given a copy of any agreement and - surprise - they could not locate a copy either. Unfortunately even though we asked 3 times for the cabinet invoice we did not receive a copy until after the cabinets were installed.
Since we raised this issue, communication from Katlia has all but stopped. They have left a huge pile of debris on our enclosed porch since January and another in our back yard. They installed the wrong window in November and have not changed it yet. Electrical installation that we have paid for has not been completed. We filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau two weeks ago and so far the company has not responded to them yet. They have great marketing and a convincing sales pitch but I would strongly suggest anyone think twice before signing a contract with Katlia Construction.Helpful 11Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
