Bar. Package liquors. Polish Korean fusion (Kimskis attached). This place is the model of what our first Mars colony should aspire to.
Great service, amazing beer selection and lots of space...especially when the patio is open.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 2726140Mar 10, 20241 check-in
A Chicago institution. If you don't like Maria's then you probably don't like Chicago. That's fine, but why u here?
Maria's is a great place to chill with a cold one. They don't have a huge tap list, but they do have a nicely curated mix of local brews. They also have old standbys like Old Style and PBR. Even on a Sunday afternoon they had good music playing.
Maria's feels like home. Thats Chicago.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 1 - Sep 15, 2023
Maria's is a hidden gem. The front looks like your average local liquor store, but once you enter the backroom, it's a completely different world filled with good vibes and great drinks.
Featuring a constantly rotating array of drinks, each experience at Maria's will guarantee to be different. This time, I got their Yuzu seltzer. It was so refreshing and bursting with delicious, citrusy yuzu flavor.
If you're in the area, stop in for a drink, you'll thank me later.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Jun 11, 2023
Walked here after the White Sox game. So glad we got to check out this gem! It was a beautiful day so we decided to sit in their large wrap around patio.
They have a large list of unique beers and delicious cocktails. I got the Soju Like to Party frozen drink and Palmer's Pint both were delicious and perfectly balanced. I'm definitely coming back here to try the Korean food. The cheesy rice cakes are calling my name next time!
Service was fast and friendly. The perfect place to hang out when you want a low key summertime Chi day!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 177229270Jun 24, 2023
Great local spot in Bridgeport!
Came on a Friday night. Was lively. Loved that Maria was at the door!
They offer a really good selection of beers. Also a decent cocktail menu. Their old fashioned is really good!
And really fun outdoor patio (note that it closes around 11:30pm on Friday). Inside is three semi separate rooms. All with their own vibe. Loved the white lights.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 510156533Sep 17, 2023
Maria's Packaged Goods and Community Bar is truly a staple of the Bridgeport community. So many friends have recommended it to me and I'm so glad they did! I came here twice so far: once to grab drinks and catch up with a friend, and once for dinner and drinks before a White Sox game. It has a very casual environment and both indoor and outdoor patio seating. This space is HUGE. There's so many different rooms/areas inside the building with different vibes and decor. There are two back patios to sit and hang out in too. In front, there is a small counter service restaurant attached, called Kimski, which has some delicious Korean Polish offerings that you can order that pairs well with your drinks. I recommend ordering first and they'll give you a buzzer, and then finding a seat in the large outdoor patio. We got Maria's Standard, which is a Polish sausage with sauerkraut on a perfectly fluffy and toasted brioche bun, served with crinkle cut fries. It is perfection! Amazing with a pint of beer from Maria's. We ordered this in the spirit of going to the White Sox game later that evening and it sure beats getting an overpriced Chicago dog at the field.
Maria's has a ton of beers on tap and a lot of them are Marz brews. Fun fact: Maria's and Marz Brewing are owned by the same family! It seems that Marz is named after the family name, Marzewski. Their beers are fun and unique, and they really are great at creating delicious beers, food, and a fun and relaxed environment.
What a great place. Can't wait to come back again soon!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Dec 4, 2023
Came here with my little brother for a few beverages on a weekday around 4pm. We just drank and did not try any of the food. As soon as you walk in you're in the liquor store and have to walk through the older side of the bar to the newer side, where everything is happening and it's newer ambiance. The bartender was attentive and they have a very good draft selection of various craft brews. You're sure to find a drink you'll like whether it be a beer or one of their craft cocktails.

The first time I walked into Maria's was in 2015 and I had lived here less than a year. At first, I was confused - I just saw a tiny little liquor store, albeit with an impressive selection of beers. But then I found out there was a little 'speakeasy' door to the side which lead to a small-isn bar area. Well, I found myself in that bar for the next couple of hours enjoying great beers and awesome conversation. I've now been back many times (and I'm frankly embarrassed it's taken me this long to review it).
Since then Maria's has grown a lot. Marz Brewing has moved offsite to a much bigger and better location, Maria has expanded to the next store over and they have cooperated with Kimski restaurant as well. Now, there is the great old Chicago bar, but also a bigger, more open space, and two outdoor spaces.
Still, Maria is there pretty much every day. And she is amazing. When you see her, talk about her story, her ventures and the fact that she is also a licensed pilot (me too!). Amazing.
This is one of my favorite places in Bridgeport and where I will take my work team to regularly. You will find a full bar with innovative cocktails and a seriously great selection of beers, not to mention a great staff. What more could you want? I'm a regular now.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 4Oh no 0 - 35248Jun 17, 2023
The only reason this review is getting two stars is because of the product - their ginger beer really is good.
We were so excited to visit this place after having Maria's ginger beer at a restaurant and hoped to buy a case of it. Sadly, we were met with some really unpleasant customer service from the person working there. We asked where the ginger beer was and if they were sold by the case, and the worker made a passive aggressive laugh, followed by a "no, they're way too expensive" as if to say that we wouldn't be interested in or able to afford it. This location is out of the way from where we live so if it was possible to buy a case, we would have happily bought it and supported the business. We ended up buying the few ginger beers they had in the cooler and left quickly. Based on that brief first impression of their customer service, we would not return and hesitate to support to the business in the future.Helpful 1Thanks 1Love this 0Oh no 0 - Valerie U.Near North Side, Chicago, IL071Nov 30, 2023
