Was it bit underwhelmed with my meal. I got the lunch special and side order of kimbap. This is by no means authentic Korean food. My lunch special was a little joke. The japchae was heavy in sesame oil flavor and very tiny in portion. The only thing I enjoyed in the lunch special was the kimchi. My kimbap was also...underwhelming. Tiny sushi-like rolls with heavy vinegar flavor. I also waited around 30 minutes after I ordered.

Yum!! Order was Taro bubble tea with half the sweetness, since a previous review said the teas were overly sweet. The boba were extra chewy with a good ratio to the tea. Nice n creamy with perfect sweetness for me (again, ordered as half sweet). Beautiful purple color. Downside was rather small size compared to other boba tea places and a lot of ice. The plastic wrap on the cup was funny compared to the normal sealed top. The two staff members inside were kind and wore masks.
I'd come here again :) it's conveniently close to work and a tasty afternoon treat, but next time I'll have to try the food too.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 55239905Aug 1, 2018
Helloooooo K-Town!
I love Korean food and this place not only does it well but it puts a nice spin on it. I was in town and stopped by on a Saturday night, closer to closing time than my friend and I had originally planned but the service was perfectly friendly and helpful.
I ordered the bul go gi jahp chae, my friend ordered ja jang myun and we got a korean pancake to split. The jahp chae was delicious, the noodles cooked right with a healthy dose of veggies and tender bul go gi. My friend loved the ja jang myun - good flavor to the sauce and the noodles were perfect. The korean pancake was beautifully crispy yet tender and combined with the dipping sauce it was fantastic. The side dishes were lovely as well and paired particularly well with our noodles.
Since it was a Saturday night, we decided to order Lychee Mojitos which were amazing and included the fruit in the drink, lovely touch right there.
There was plenty of seating inside and I can see it getting busy both lunch and dinner. Even if it does get busy, I'd definitely recommend stopping by.
I'm definitely coming back the next time I'm in town!Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - Sep 14, 2021
Small restaurant with few tables due to COVID. Ordered the bulgogi with spiced sprouts and spiced cucumbers and was happily surprised with the amount of beef that was served for an $11 plate. An exceptional value for the price. Swing by if you have a chance.

In an effort to save you time and frustration. This place is permanently closed. Don't waist your time or money getting the Lyft there. I did

Not the best korean food I've had but not the worst. This was my first time eating in Richmond so I'm not sure how K-town compares to other restaurants around. Because of the location being in downtown, I expected a lot more than I was met with. It wasn't very busy considering we came on a weekend with a large group which was surprising since I thought it would be a popular spot.
The food took a while to be prepared but thats understandable considering that we were a larger group. The bimbimbap I ordered was very standard and nothing special, I appreciated the fresh ingredients but it was nothing too amazing. The galbi I thought could have a bit more flavor, the dish was overall mediocre. Overall, I would come again if this was the only korean food around the around the area.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - 221302963Jun 30, 2018
If you're in the mood for some tasty affordable food in a casual environment this is the spot for you! We found this place through yelp and we are so glad we did. While it is kind of a "whole in the wall" place its comfortable and feels welcoming. Our waitress, Briana, and all the kitchen staff that delivered our food were so friendly. Briana was very patient with us as we took FOREVER to decide on beverages and food. I ordered the mule and my partner got the Kloud beer. Both were good.
We also ordered the chicken dumplings, steamed, and an order of beef bul go gi with kimchi and sprouts. Everything was great, the only thing i wasn't crazy about was the sprouts. Kimchi spice level was pretty mild. Overall great experience!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - May 7, 2018
My first time here. Read the reviews and had to try it. Short walk from where I was staying near E. Broad Street.
Clean restaurant. I was seated immediately and my order taken. I started with the steamed chicken dumplings ... there were plenty and they were delicious (I would have ordered more). I highly recommend with the spicy sauce that my waitress offered.
My main course I went with Beef Bi Bim Bap - also delicious.
I'll come back here when I am back in Richmond. Definitely a great dining experience.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 324267288Sep 28, 2019
Make a reservation if you are having a birthday party or special event. The service was welcoming and friendly, the prices were reasonable and the portion sizes were good, but the food was just okay.
I ordered the seasoned chicken served with rice and two sides of my choice. I really enjoyed my dish, but the appetizer and bibimbap I got weren't the greatest I have had. I do enjoy the serving sizes of their alcoholic beverages. The sake was plentiful and the fruity ones were my favorite.
Overall, I didn't dislike the food by any means, but with so many other Korean food options around Richmond, it didn't feel like it was good enough that we need to go back. Perhaps for drinks, but that's about it.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0
