When our door dasher left half our order behind and doordash wasn't sending another dasher, the manager drove out here with our order to make sure we were fed. We really appreciate them! Feeling much better now that i have my smoothie.

Came here today. This would have been a 5/5 if the bananas they blended the pitaya with weren't so OVERRIPE! The whole smoothie bowl just tasted and smelled like overripe banana, additionally the ones they gave me with it were overripe as you can tell.
Really disappointed that they used old fruit.
The service was friendly.

The customer service I experienced the whole time was very unsatisfactory. I was not greeted, thanked or bid farewell. After I ordered my overpriced juice it was promptly made and set on the counter but, they did not call out my name or the name of the drink so I didn't know if it was mine or not. I had to ask around if anyone else thought it was theirs. The drink itself was OK but they didn't offer me ice as they did the customer before me, so it didn't taste very good until I got home and added my own. The employees were very ungrateful for my business and rude the entire time, takes a way a lot from the overall enjoyment.

Hamid has taken over from his uncle Mike. Same great service and quality food and smoothies. If we had an Pitaya bowl and an açai bowl with her fantastic.
Lots of organic fruits used in smoothies and bowls, including organic, apple, organic strawberry (wow) , organic spinach organic kale and more.
The plant-based protein is from pea I avoid the way because that's a by product from dairy.
It's an easy location to park. You can even sneak across the street at the Vons. Call ahead and it will be ready for you.
The prices are really fair. Especially when you look around the corner and La Jolla. I get there lemon ginger shot and add a dash of client and it's only 2.50.
I'm so glad we have been returning to Juice Kaboose. It's our favorite place for juices and bowls in La Jolla.
We are sad that Mike has passed on. We are happy to see Hamid and his team carrying it onHelpful 4Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0Oct 23, 2018Previous reviewI used to LOVE it here. Why is it falling out of favor for me: - you decide for yourself but here are my data points:
1. The Liquid Lunch is soy or whey protein based vs pea protein.
2. When i asked about lechitin in the drinks, the gals had no information about what is in it. They eventually said they think it is soy derived. If you look it up online :" Lecithin is found in many animal and vegetable sources, including beef liver, steak, eggs, peanuts, cauliflower, and oranges. Commercial sources for lecithin may come from soybeans, egg yolk, or brain tissue." So makes sense to understand the source of theirs. LACK OF KNOWLEDGE AND UNFRIENDLY TO MY ?
3. Asked them if they would find out more about protein powder options and ever considered pea (a non soy, non dairy (Whey), option) and left feeling like i was asking for the moon. I asked if they would pass it on to the owner. They affirmed he doesnt come in much anymore.
So J.K. I will now go to BEAMING Cafe in LJ for their low glycemic options. they do pea/veggie protein options so it is much more friendly for vegan and or non dairy, non soy folks.
(and many women over 55 or who have had breast cancer AVOID soy! J.K. why not make more options friendly for this demographic - i am not in it, but many friends are so another reason i wont go there again..cant meet friends there who fit that demographic)
Let us know if you add pea protein, change staff attitudes, and better provide customers with info on what is in your supplements added to the drinks. You have room for improvement!

Thank you for reviewing us on the Yelp page. Basically, when you create your own smoothie, we are not responsible for the taste that you create. We use natural, fresh, organic ingredients to make our juice and smoothie, so maybe that would be great if you asked to add a sweetener like organic agave. But you are welcome back to get one of our delicious and tasty menu smoothies.

I've been going to Juice Kaboose for over ten years and they never disappoint with delicious smoothies and sandwiches - it's like if Jamba Juice was actually good and good for you ! 5 stars!

Julia G.San Diego, CA0715Oct 1, 2023Huuuuuge açaà bowl portions and so yummy! We tried the Ironman and loved it. Tons of fresh fruit and açaà blended with PB. The cafe is just a counter inside but has a cute outdoor seating area.
