JR Drywall

We're really pleased with our experience with JR Drywall. The plaster ceiling in the living room of our 1920's house was cracked and sagged a bit. Ron quickly responded to our request for an estimate and scheduled the work within the timeframe we requested. Jimmy did an excellent job patching the cracks and applying a skim coat to the entire ceiling-- a huge improvement! The two were careful to cover the floors and walls and the cleanup was thorough. We'd previously had JR Drywall refinish the cracked plaster walls in several rooms and we're very happy with the smooth finish. A great job at a fair price!

Ron, Jose and Ambrosio to the rescue again! We hired JR Drywall a few years ago to install drywall in a complicated two-story addition, including in and under the stairwell and around a straw-bale-constructed room with exposed beams and columns - and they did an amazing job. We finally saved up enough now to renovate our 81-year-old kitchen, and of course brought these guys back!

They seamlessly integrated what used to be a small kitchen plus small dining room. The transitions on walls and ceiling are now as smooth as butter, and they came out right away and completed the work in 4 days. I'm painting myself, but if I could spare the extra cash I'd have them paint as well, because their work is awesome.

JR Drywall's pricing is almost unbelievably low compared to what many Bay Area trades are charging during this construction boom time. Great skill and value for the cost - and Ron and all his crew are super friendly, trustworthy, punctual and fun!

These guys did a beautiful job repairing the drywall in my kitchen behind where I'd removed a backsplash and cabinets, and were really incredible to work with. Ron came out immediately to give me a quote and was able to start work within a day. I was really impressed and would highly recommend their services.

These guys are amazing. Super fast (like, within minutes) response time. Communicates quickly over text. Fit me in last minute on 2 occasions.

Showed up and did what I thought would be about 9 hours of work in about 4 hours. Even patched up a part of the house that wasn't in the bid for free just to be nice.

Both the owner and the main dude doing the repairs were hyper professional, super nice, and respectful. They cleaned up everything extremely well.

I used to do drywall work myself (as an ex-painter) and I have really high standards. They exceeded them and more.

Immediately returned my call, provided a quote and repaired literally the next day. We had a 3x2 hole in lath n plaster from a plumbing leak and JR fixed like it had never happened. Such a great experience, can't thank them enough fir their amazing work and professionalism. Would highly highly recommend!

Absolutely nothing but good things to say about this company. Their quote was reasonable, the work was top notch (Ron came up with a simple solution to smooth out a ceiling where the original construction left cracks, obvious uneven merging of dry wall segments, etc.

They showed up for the repair when he said they would; tthe work is excellent; they cleaned up after themselves so that there was minimal dust, dirt etc from a ceiling repair and painting; the work happened rapidly.

And, Ron did an extra small repair that had nothing to do with why I hired the company.

We contacted Ron to come and review our space for a large office renovation that we had planned. He called and came out immediately with his on-site leader Jose. He was absolutely true to his word about reviewing our space and plans, and giving us an immediate quote. Then COVID hit and we had to put everything on hold. Bottom line -- JR Drywall and Ron (and Jose) are fantastic and provide immediate results.

We are absolutely thrilled with the job that Ron and his crew did on a patching job in our home.

When I first contacted Ron, he answered his phone, came immediately to check out the job, and started the following day. He arrived exactly when he said he would, did exactly what he said he would do, and was communicative and prompt as the job progressed.

Frankly, it has seemed to us that even the very best contractors can be unreliable with scheduling and difficult to reach at times. This was not at all true with Ron and his guys. Hands down, the best experience I have had to date with the construction industry.

Oh, and the job was done perfectly. The patched part of the wall actually looks better than our original wall! :) Obviously, we would HIGHLY recommend JR Drywall for any job!

My husband and I have gutted our house and been rebuilding it by ourselves over the last year. We got to the drywall part, screwed in a few pieces to our janky, 100 year old framing, realized how uneven our walls were, and decided we were just absolutely not interested in hanging drywall, taping and mudding.
I called JR drywall and set up a time for Ron to come and give me a quote. The quote he gave was extremely reasonable, and he made sure he understood exactly what we were asking for - he even told me that his mudding guy could fix our cracked crown moulding.
We booked with JR drywall; Ron had a whole crew come in and hang the entire house in ONE DAY. A 1500 sq ft house, all of the walls AND the ceilings in O.N.E. D.A.Y. Then he told us it would take another 10 days to do the taping and mudding, and it took far less than that. We were very pleased with the work, and I was especially impressed that Ron ALWAYS answered my phone calls/texts, and showed up when he said he would, which is not something I can say for all contractors.

This guy saved my life. And, did it with a smile.

I tore down the former lathe and plaster in my living room to bury cables, redo the electrical and insulate. I thought that we could do the drywall ourselves--but have you ever tried to pick up 1/2 inch drywall?? I weighs a ton. Enter Yelp and JR Drywall.

Ron was prompt, clean, efficient and CHEAP. We got another estimate for triple what Ron quoted. I thought that at his price, the quality might suffer. But, what really made this whole experience perfect was how well Ron matched the texture on our 1939 home.

Ron called the texture "Old World". Whatever it's name, he assured us that when we painted the wall, it would match. And, it did. We've gotten nothing but compliments on the job.

I highly recommend Ron. He's a sweet guy who really wants you to love the completed job. And, we do.

Ron doesn't own a computer, so he probably won't even find out about his reviews. But, it's good to pass along a great contractor to the Yelp community.
