Johnny's Sport Shop is a family owned and operated business for over 65 years. As evident by our 5 star Yelp rating, our customer service is unprescedented for any retail business. We sell Adventure Passes for our National Forrests. We fix/service rods, reels and lures. We can show you how to tie that knot, you just can't figure out on youtube.We sell over 20 different types of live and frozen baits. We can show you how to use certain techniques to be used in different types of situations. ALL of the latest gear, as well as many old products, some of which are not even sold anymore. We have an inventory of old Mitchell Reel parts and service these on a regular basis. What sets Johnny's apart from the rest is their vast knowledge of fishing that is passed down through our employees AS WELL AS our customers. We will not only sell you the appropriate equipment/tackle but will go above and beyond to make sure you know which technique to use. Please come by and see for yourself. We sell redworms for composting, many art supplies, and tools and gadgets to help you out around the house as well.

I have 2 Mitchell 300s ... One made in France. The other newer. The bail is not functioning correctly. Is this something you can service? If so, can I mail them? I'm in Huntington Beach. Thanks!

Vincent and Eric helped me select equipment in my price range, listened to what sort of fishing I wanted to do and showed me how to make a proper rig. I still don't know what I'm doing, but they were incredibly patient and encouraging. They even showed me places to go to get started, and made a beginner like me feel extremely welcome. They have all kinds of stuff for seasoned anglers, but I just wanted to say if you go in there as a complete beginner, they're gonna treat you very well.

20273309Aug 3, 2023Great little fishing and tackle spot over in West Pasadena. Love the vibe here. Family-owned and operated for years, and everyone there is knowledgeable and helpful, even to a fishing scrub like myself.
Parking lot out front is sort of small, but I've never has trouble finding it. They have pretty much everything you need here for fishing equipment, from fresh to salt. Hooks, weights, reels, poles, and everything in between. Even has a small section for clothing and boots. I'd say prices are on par with the much larger chain stores, but you won't get the service or knowledge to match what's found here.

A fishing tackle store for all people wanting great friendly advice and service. I've been patronizing this store since the 80's. They have all the latest knowledge and supplies anyone could want. I brought my rod with a broken tip and Avet reel and both were fixed the same day within 25 minutes. I totally agree with the other great reviews I read about Johhny's. I have been a customer for the last ten years and customer service and products are always great. The next weekend I took my rod and reel and caught some nice tuna and bonito in San Diego.
