I'm so happy this place is so close to my house. The food is amazing I love how it has a little hipster style to it. You can order you food at the window. (By the way the pastrami !!!! OMG THE PASTRAMI) They also have a bar right next door. You can chill in their patio as you eat your food and walk over to their bar where they have music and another little patio with a bong fire to enjoy. Overall, we had a lovely time the food was amazing and so was the vibe! Totally making this our go to spot.
One thing, parking needs work. They do have parking next door but for after hours if you want to stay late at the bar you have to move your car from the parking location since they close at 9pm. And street parking on Adams is nearly impossible to find. So if you live close Uber it if you want to chill late if not them good luck with finding parking. Hopefully they work on that.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Melvin D.Los Angeles, CA02Aug 20, 2021
The food is great and the live music just adds more flavor but the girl behind the window that hands over the food is so rude and not approachable if you were to lift her mask she probably have a stank face I really wanted a desert but didn't want to stand back in line I was already standing in it for 20min when I asked that girl with the glasses if I can get a desert she said you have to stand back in line I was like wha ? Can you just charge me for it and add it to my order what's the big deal honestly if it was a white person I bet you she would of done a back flip and came with there change but no she treats her own like second class citizens

I've been living around this area for some time now and never bothered to stop by as it used to look like a rundown restaurant. I was recommended to try it out by some friends as they said it was bought out by a new owner. I'm so glad I made the choice. The burger was phenomenal. One of the best burgers I've had in LA. They have a bar next to it which has great seating and a back patio. It's much more spacious than I thought. Definitely recommend this to anyone looking to get a great burger. Absolutely great customer service, and I say this because the owner passed by all the guest to ensure they were enjoying their visit and food.

OMG this is the BEST Pastrami in LA. Like and hot sandwich it's best to eat it fresh on the spot. The fries were flavorful, I was really surprised. However, this food should be eaten on the spot of within 30 minutes after you receive it because it is the good reheated. I can't wait to visit this place again and try everything else. I STRONGLY RECOMMEND YOU GIVE THIS PLACE A TRY.
WARNING: Street parking or you can pay for parking on the premise
Well worth the visit and it's affordableHelpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Linda R.Altadena, CA020Oct 14, 2019
This is the rating I would give Johnny's at Adams and Crenshaw based on over 40 years of going there. I was never a pastrami fan, but their cheeseburgers and fries were to die for. Moving out of the area slowed down my visits but I often drove back to enjoy! Now that it has been closed for some time, I keep hoping it will open again! I imagine Johnny has retired by now but maybe a friend or relative or newbie will take over what was once the GREATEST burger joint......my husband was the pastrami fan and they too were superb! Miss this place so much!

Ok y'all the sign is on and the outside has been refinished. So I'm assuming that means that they will be opening soon!

I've eaten here since the 60's and the pastramis are still the best!! - Septia W.San Francisco, CA047May 29, 2019
This is now 2019...and closing Johnny's was like losing a good friend.
And when Johnny's folded, I tried out d then the business closed.
Since then, I have been to other eateries and sorry, they just do not compare. WHY this business folded, we all may never know. But it would be great to find another eater similar to what Johnny's was,
Oh well..the search continues!Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Marcellus M.Rancho Cucamonga, CA1292433May 16, 2019

I go here every time i make a visit to the west coast. Its my all time favorite eatery. Never had the chilli cheese fries but i hear that there better than "the hat" in Orange county. Try to duplicate the sandwich when i make it at home but don't come close.
