Jesse's Mexican Grill is located just a scone's throw from Starbucks on the corner of Rocklin Road and Sierra College Blvd. This is the same location as the restaurant formerly known as "Flaming Garcias Mexican Grill" which has apparently Flamed-out. C'est la vie, C'est la mort.

That's okay because based on my first taste Jesse's Grill is serving up some really great food! I opted for a shredded chicken taco ($1.50 off the Happy Hour menu), a shredded beef taco ($2.00 special) and a side order of Samosas ($2.99). Yup, that's right...Samosas. "What the Punjab" you say? Well, turns out these little dandies are coming straight from the Land of Five Rivers and they are delicious. A very light crispy exterior encasing a delicious vege filling of potatoes and peas and the perfect balance of spices! The shredded beef taco had a generous filling of moist and tasty shredded beef and the shredded chicken taco was also very good. There is also a complimentary tortilla chip bar. The chips were thick, warm and fresh and definitely made in-house which is a big plus in my book.

The young man staffing the front counter was polite and helpful and the food came out quickly and exactly as ordered. It's obvious that the family running this restaurant takes pride in their business. The food was plated with care and well garnished...just look at my pics!

As I sat enjoying my meal and contemplating the interesting Mex-Indian mix on the menu, I couldn't help but wonder how wonderful it would be if the owners took the menu to the next level and started offering-up fusion Mex-Indian entrees. How about a vege burrito made with that delightful samosa filling as the key filling? Just saying...it would be heaven on a plate :)

Now called LOS DELFINES.... Nicely done!
Salsa has a kick, but is fabulous!!
Had Carnitas Chimichanga (perfectly fried - nit greasy, tender carnitas!), Chile Rellno (lovely crepe-like battered coating, sauce was smoky & flavorful), and Kid's Burrito -- 3 big eaters left fully satisfied!!
One drawback -- only one amber beer on draft, but for $3.00 I'm not complaining!!
      Shelby was wonderful!!! THANK YOU!!!

The teenager and I stopped in last night after driving half-way from Oakland back to Reno. Located in the Roseville/Rocklin area it was only a mile of the interstate and easy to find.

The boy was starving and wanted Mexican food and Yelp hasn't steered us wrong yet. The restaurant was spacious and a cross between a sit-down restaurant and quick Mexican food. I was a little confused when I walked in because it looks like a sit down but you order at the counter. A sign pointing this out would fix all.

Anyway we were greeted as soon as we walked up to the counter and ordered from an extensive menu. The cashier was really helpful and friendly. We seated ourselves and our food arrived quickly. The food was HUGE! I ordered the Chimichanga and could have eaten it for 3 meals. The food was fresh and probably some of the best Mexican food I have had in awhile. The teenager couldn't finish all of his burrito and that is saying something!

They have did serve wine and beer and it looked like there was a full bar but since I was driving I didn't investigate. Everyone was friendly and genuinely provided excellent service. We are in the Rocklin area all the time for sports and will definitely be adding this restaurant to the rotation.

Well it's about time someone write a one star review. We live in the neighborhood and started going to this place when it was Flaming Garcia. Had been twice since it's been Jesse's and it was okay. Went again the other night, and WTH? It didn't take long for the new owners to run this place into the ground. Ordered the enchilada plate and it was terrible: luke warm, tasted awful, tasted like the ground beef had gone bad. Not edible (hey it was so bad, I had to take the time to write a Yelp review)! Will never go back again.

To top it off, when I was at the counter paying (it was take out) I inquired about their "Street Taco Special for students only--3 for $4.50". The owner's son told me "Yeah, but it's for students only". Since I am not a student (I am 60 years old), I asked him how much it cost for one. He replied (exactly), "2.70 to $3.00 each". He gave me my change and I left (yes, I tipped not knowing the food would be garbage).

Excuse me if I'm wrong, but I thought giving "specials" to a particular group of people and not to others went out years ago as people became more conscious. A price break of almost 50% is a great deal. They probably can't see past their glaring prejudices and garbage enchiladas because they are too busy watching the big screen TV's and joking around with the partying students.

Friendly staff. Awesome food. Quick service. Reasonable prices. This is the quad-fecta of restaurants.

I've never been disappointed by the food, and the burritos are huge and delicious. Go here, and eat. That's about all I need to say about it.

      4.5 STARS? SERIOUSLY?

I'll say it again: Sacramento people have lost their palate. The food here is bland.

Chips and Salsa: chips were oily and the salsa I had (kind of a pico de gallo) was bland and weak and watery.

Beef Flautas: the meat lacked any flavor at all. The rice and beans were ok though. The guacamole was thin and weak.

Shrimp Fajitas: same as above. The shrimp and vegetables had not been seasoned at all so it was kind of a stir fry with no seasoning. Just shrimp, onions, red and green peppers and that's it.

Being from So Cal I am kind of spoiled in what really good Mexican food is. I grew up on authentic flavors and spices. This isn't it. At all.

The staff was nice though, but the nice kid who took my order did not seem very confident is his knowledge of the menu or in his ability to count change.

It sucks....I wanted to like this place because good Mexican food is almost impossible to find in Sacramento.

This place has become a gross fake Mexican restaurant under the new owners. The old owners were amazing and cooked amazing food but now it's overpriced fake Mexican food.

Casual establishment with a nice selection of draft beers that are served in icy mugs! Good food, everything served the right temperature - the hot food hot and the cold sour cream nice and chilly. Instead of guacamole they serve a guacamole salsa that is very tasty. The staff is OUTSTANDING and there to please. Also, if you have a hankering for something different, try the samos or curry.
