This is a cool little place with big portions of tasty food. They offer everything you'd expect from a Philly/NJ style deli at decent prices. They also offer some unique dishes like Bacon Wrapped Deep Fried P&J, Hershey's fries, and 'The Wildwood'. Probably not a place for people watching their weight, but must stop if you're in the area and have a big appetite.
When you walk in, seat yourself. They have some big tables and accommodate large parties. A lot of people just get take out so its never too crowded. It does take a little while to get your food but its worth the wait.
On top of their already fair prices they offer military discount.Helpful 5Thanks 0Love this 5Oh no 0 - Oct 6, 2017
OK, y'all. From the outside, I had no idea what to expect. It's rather nondescript. Inside, you'll find a small restaurant with a diner/cafe decorated in black, white, red, and blue.
I could write about all the things we ordered but I'm going to focus on two items I have never seen elsewhere. Let me just say that there are lots of good options. The food is tasty, portion sizes are good for the price, and the service is great. The burgers and sandwiches are good. Let me repeat, the service is great.
Let me get to the two interesting items.
I ordered a bacon-wrapped deep fried PB&J. You had the option of strawberry or grape. I went with the strawberry. The sandwich is basic yet different. It arrives at the table piping hot. The inside is a basic PB&J on bread. The outside is made of perfectly crisped bacon. The whole thing is deep fried. The peanut butter softens from the heat and melds perfectly with the sweet strawberry jelly. So, you now have nutty, salty, sweet, and fruity all mixing. Then take it up a notch by adding the smoky, meaty, salty taste of bacon and finally crisp everything by frying it. It's good. It's really good. It's just the right portion for someone who's hungry but not starving. Now, it's about $7 which seems really high. And, honestly, it is. But it's really good and there's no way I'd want to go through the trouble of making and frying that sandwich at home. So, in my book it's worth it.
Now, I have to tell you about the Joe's Vinegar Marinated Boardwalk Fries. They marinade the potatoes in vinegar. So, instead of making your crispy fries soggy with malt vinegar, the vinegar flavor is actually in the fries. The vinegar flavor is not overwhelming so they're good for people who aren't into the vinegar on fries thing. Very good. I'd go there just for the fries.
I'm looking forward to the next time we're in the neck of the woods so I can stop in for a fried PB&J and some vinegar fries. Yum!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Apr 24, 2016
On our way to Hershey Park, we stopped by this casual deli/restaurant to pick up a few sandwiches and burgers. Inside was homey with a few tables and a small deli counter. We got the 8oz burger, grilled Reuben and grilled Rachel. Loved the toasted rye bread and generous portions of meat. The burger was nicely cooked and although the fries were freshly cut, they were not as crispy as I like. We were only taking out but it was obvious how friendly and caring the staff were. Skip the park food, and grab lunch here instead!

I am going to have to give this place another shot and not order chicken salad from a place that is famous for cheese steaks, subs and burgers. I don't mind giving them another try. My friend said that her BLT was delicious! But based on my meal I was soooo disappointed. The chicken salad was gross it had way to much mayonnaise on it. The only reason I am giving them three stars was because the service was amazing and like I said I should have probably just gotten something else. I will next time

I've driven by this place at least a handful of times a week since it opened. The exterior is pretty plain, and there's normally only a few cars there so nothing ever really made me say "Dang, I need to make sure I stop here someday". That was definitely a mistake.
Today, I actually had my wife and one of my daughters (the other one was staying with Grandma, WOO HOO!!!) on the way home, so we decided to stop and give it a try.
The interior was simple diner type setup, it was seat yourself environment. I could tell, though, that regulars are definitely more common than the random sit down diners.
Regardless to the outward appearance, the service was good. The food was excellent with very fair prices. I ordered the bacon ranch crispy chicken sandwich, my wife ordered the chicken parm sandwich and we ordered an order of fries and cheese curds to share and for the little one. All of the food was correctly prepared and tasty. The little one plugged away at cheese curds for the whole meal.
It's definitely a little hidden gem that I will definitely put on my radar more often now. If you're a local that hasn't stopped before like myself, or just passing through, it's definitely a worthy pit stop.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Tom J.Harrisburg, PA014Aug 16, 2017
Clean, friendly and fantastic food at very reasonable prices.
Can't say much more than that. Had a half cheese steak with large fries and just about managed to finish them....
Will definitely be back as soon as I canHelpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - David G.Harrisburg, PA10011367Jun 28, 2018
Jersey Joes Boardwalk Cafe is a really good locally owned option if you are in the Jonestown and looking for a casual meal. They are right on the outskirts of town along route 72. The menu consists of a variety of sandwiches, cheesesteaks, burgers and other deli items. I've been there a few times and tried a variety of things including the 5 Alarm Spicy Chicken, cheesesteak, and the Jersey Gut Buster which is a burger. All were very good, you can tell they use quality ingredients. Service is prompt and very friendly. They also do deliveries although I have never done that. One thing to watch is their hours.. they are not open Monday's and Tuesday's. Give it a try.. you won't be disappointed.

If you're passing thru looking for something to eat... skip this place! August 26,2018 took 1.5hrs to get in and out for lunch. Had no cheese bites, had no chicken wings, forgot the cheese steak sandwich, and the Maddison Square garden salad looked like they poured some premix grocery store mixed salad onto a plate, added 2 thin slices of tomato and served it. Not impressed at all. Find somewhere else.

Fun, homey, fast and great food. The boardwalk fries (marinated in white vinegar) were fantastic! Wait staff friendly and did a great job! Definitely recommend!
