Jerome Pizza

This place has been around for decades; long before there was even a Zagat's to rate it.
It's always been a go-to place for Lehman college students and MTA employees. A place for a cheap quick meal.
I doubt the same owners are the ones I remember from the 70's and 80's.

Why the 4 stars?
It's nice to see a truly neighborhood restaurant that survived Covid is still around plus it is bigger and more inviting than before.

I ordered a plain slice. Honestly, I didn't know what to expect for $3.50!

There was another pleasant surprise; it was fairly large (see the photo with a USD for comparison), hot, crisp, and good.
Hours later my stomach is still happy.

I'm not a pizza connoisseur BUT it's fair to say that all pizza is not made equally. I've had a lot of pizza slices in NYC and this pizza shop does a great job of preparing New York style pizza.

If you're not from NYC, be prepared to enjoy a giant slice of pizza (that you must fold because that's the proper way to eat a NYC slice of pizza). I plan on visiting this shop every time that I visit Bedford Park.

Pro-Tip:
1. You can't go wrong with cheese pizza but they have many options. Chicken on Pizza is a great option too.
2. Get the Beef Pattie (it's not a pizza).
3. Garlic knots are a must (worth the carbs).
4. Marinara Sauce is an additional charge (you can leave without it but come on, don't be cheap at this point).

Jerome's is one of my fave local pizzerias!! Everything on their menu is more than delish & highly recommend their buffalo wings!! Their plain slice, spinach square slice & buffalo chicken slice is def some of my fave food items from their menu. Don't even get me started on their beef patties w cheese ABD you can get that w pepperoni as well

I was looking for a place that we could online order a couple solid, reasonably priced pies in the area and Jerome Pizza was the highest rated in the area (and I could order delivery right on the Yelp app). I didn't wait too long to order. I was pleasantly surprised to see that it was a mere $16 for a LARGE pizza. I ordered two with a delivery time between 45-60 minutes.

I was SHOCKED when I got a call 30 minutes later saying that the delivery had arrived! One really nice touch is the delivery person didn't just drop it with the security guy desk-- he waited outside my building with the two pies in the insulated bag until I walked up to him (so they didn't lose any heat in the time it took me to get downstairs).

The pizza was piping hot even when I got back to my apartment, and when I say these slices were huge they were HUGE. And just by looking at it, the pizza looked pretty good. At first bite, it was really tasty! A flavorful crust that was chewy and the cheese stayed on! The sauce was a little "one note" but I don't really care about that-- the ratios between crust, cheese, and sauce were awesome.

I cannot recommend this place enough for legitimately good pizza at the most reasonable prices I've seen in the city. I wait to order from here again! I will def try the garlic knots people rave about.

Grandma spinach pie and zeppolis are 10/10. Definitely one of the best pizza spots in NYC

Tried it out after visiting my daughter's future high school. She claims she will be a regular the next four years. Good pizza but beware the slices are big. Nice staff and nice and clean interior.

I love there pasta (penne vodka) And the pizza is the best around here . The garden salad is hand down

The worst..Twice had issue with food and the owner is confrontational ... Never ordering again ...They lie about delivered food and steal $ by claiming they put extra cheese when clearly they don't ....

The square spinach slice is all you need to concern yourself with...especially if thick-ass Sicillian slices aren't your thing.

They have a pretty solid plain slice too, but my husband turned me on to the spinach slice here and I haven't looked back since.

One of my old time favorite pizza . But let's talk about how they treat their patrons . As a Afro Latina woman. They treat me with the up most respect and my family whether I order on line or dine-in in the summer nights . The quality and service is wonderful.
