This is the third time we've visited JD Legends. We went back after learning it had become smoke free - not just the restaurant but even the bowling alley - and we believe in supporting local businesses that voluntarily go smoke free. They've really done a lot to brighten the facility up and make it a pleasant family environment.

Unfortunately the menu is still mostly fried food -- the additions since our last visit included chili cheese fries, fried banana peppers, and a fried green tomato cheeseburger. Even the salads have bacon and shredded cheese in them. They have a selection of fried appetizers and bar-type food, but don't expect to find any healthier options.

Bottom line is I would go here for an evening of watching sports in the sports bar, but not for a meal.

We had a great time. We were able to sit out on the patio. They had live music that was enjoyable. The food was great. Came out hot, sizzling. There was 4 of us altogether and the bill was under $15. That's Awesome! Do your self a favor and go. You won't be disappointed!

This is part of our crew who did the free bowling last summer.

I would give it a negative 1 if I could. I called before coming here to ask whether they have hookah. The person (Ginger) confirmed they do!!! I asked her at least twice since it was raining and online it said it is on the patio. Once I got here the employee said they do not have hookah since laSt year!!! We drove over half an hour for this. Their website and whoever answers their phone said otherwise. Dissapointing place!

One of the best meals I have had in a long time! Ordered the sirloin atop sizzling onions and peppers with a side salad and grilled vegetables. Food was perfectly prepared and service was outstanding! Will definitely be back soon

I have been pleasantly surprised by J.D. Legends. I, too, decided to eat there after learning they have become voluntarily smoke-free. I had been in the building several times previously, but the smoke drove me out.

I've now eaten there three times, and I can honestly say that I have enjoyed every bit of each meal. I'm a huge fan of their burgers - each one I've had has been cooked to perfection, and the few different varieties were all well-crafted. The buns are doughy and not dry and flaky, which is a true pet peeve of mine. I haven't tried their appetizers or much other than their burgers, but my family gives all of it their seal of approval. My dad in particular couldn't shut up about how good he thought the food was when we gave it a shot together the first time, and they're coming back with me to eat there again this weekend.

What seals the deal for me is the value for the money. The last time I ate there was with my girlfriend during the $2 burger special, which they run on weekdays during the day. We were headed to a standard fast food joint for some burgers and detoured when we saw the guy on the corner waving the $2 burger special sign. As I was hemming and hawing over whether to get two orders of fries or just one, the server commented that a single order would probably feed us both. She was right - the portion of fries was particularly generous. We had two delicious fully-dressed burgers and a basket of fries between us, and even after drinks and a tip, we came in just right around where two big value meals would have been at a fast food place or just a tad over. Even at full price, I think the burgers come in under what I'm used to at other "neighborhood grill"-style places, but the food here was surprisingly above par for that sort of experience.

I'll also note that the service was excellent - I've seen a full waitstaff there every time, with no delays getting seated and no fighting to get a server's attention. My drinks have never run dry, and every server I've had has been friendly and attentive and worthy of good tipping. I tipped our last one 30% for particular awesomeness.

I'm giving it four stars because I want to reserve five-star ratings for restaurants that blow the top of my head off with awesomeness. That said, this does come pretty close, and I'm happy to rediscover it as a more than viable Nicholasville dining option that rivals uninspiring chains like Applebees. Bring expectations to match - this is a bar-heavy bowling alley/entertainment complex, so a good burger and fries are expected. You probably won't find Steak Tartare or a solid vegan selection on the menu. You will, however, get a great burger, and sometimes that and a Bon Jovi CD are all you need in life.

A few years ago, I wouldn't have set foot in the place because of the smoke. Now, I'll eat there consistently and happily.

We have been there several times. We always sit at the bar, have a burger and have a beer or two. We haven't explored the menu because the hamburgers are soooo good and sooo reasonable. Everyone has always been nice and friendly...and I do appreciate the smoke-free. I used to smoke but even when I was a smoker, I didn't like smoke around while I was eating....so it is always nice to enjoy the smoke free atmosphere.

Horrible. Food was subpar but overall the worst part was the live music. It was too loud we couldn't even hear ourselves think. When we complained they said we could go outside or get over it. I WILL NOT BE COMING BACK. Wasafi, I thought you would provide better service.

I love the atmosphere and the wings are excellent. The staff is great and enjoy the time during game events. They also have a great tiki bar and outdoor patio.

I bought a groupon for bowling but the bowling experience just wasn't pleasant. The balls would constantly get stuck and we would have to go and get someone to return them for us. Then we were constantly annoyed by the machine that resets the pins because it would sometimes just act like we shot a gutter ball and the person hadn't gone yet. It is just older place and needs updating. The shoes are old and worn out, the lanes could use some waxing, and the machines need to be fixed. It was a hassle to bowl because of the problems we had.
