Good evening, yes that is something we can figure out. You would have to drop off the vehicle so we can figure out what it is. The diagnosis’ fee is $125 then we would call you with the estimate to get that noise taken care of.

Best exp ever getting routine service on a vehicle. Also provided a vehicle check up, knowledgeable, fast and great pricing. Clean comfortable waiting room. Jay's has got to be one of the best mechanics shops in the country.

They charged $130 for an electrical diagnostic to determine what was wrong. All in to diagnose and replace my bad battery was around $300 and took a bit under two hours. Would come back if I needed help again.

Just adding another 5 star to their reviews. Legit shop, took care of my ride, kept me updated with a link that was text to me to look at what was wrong with my vehicle, never seen a mechanic shop do that. Rick Acosta's customer service is truly what you look for. Courteous, friendly, answered any question/concern I had, didn't bs. Shop is clean, being in there you forget you're on Alameda. Area has had such a bad rap for decades lol. Jay's does not follow that perception. Will go there again in the, hopefully not near, future. Highly recommend this mechanic shop.

Brought my car here for its first oil change, met the owner who's a jolly gentleman with a warm smile. They are up front with prices, services, and updates on the progress of your vehicle.
While I was waiting for my car, a family came in to get realignment work done. Jays was honest about the shop's equipment being unable to accommodate their vehicle but was very helpful in helping them find a shop that would be able to help that family.

Before I begin, we would all agree that a mechanic shop with five stars oughta be excellent right?
I think a lot of raters with minimal experience put five stars if staff was nice to them. Rick is a very pleasant customer service rep, but that doesn't rate 5 stars.
I think 400 for an oil change and 2 radiator hose replacements is excessive.
Also, it was clear you didn't assess my vehicle the first day, i dropped it off at 9am. When I called back at 230pm I was told you just started checking it. When I called back at 530pm I was told the same. My guess is when I said the first morning that I could leave it over night if need be, it was put on the back burner until the next day. Diagnosing a radiator hose leak doesn't take even an hour and definitely should have been done within the first day.
Also, I originally was going to do a lot of things (breaks, tune up etc) along with my essential services (radiator hoses and oil change). But with the fact that at nearing 1000 dollars worth of a quote you cant find much in the way of incentives or discounts is disheartening. For example, if I am considering paying you close to 1 grand and part of this quote includes a tire rotation and brake pad replacement for both front and rear brake pads...(the brake pad replacement price is ridiculous in my opinion) then why not throw in the tire rotation (25$) for free. It is literally no extra work because your taking the tires off anyways to change the brake pads.
There were multiple examples of this in my quote.
I know yall have to make money but charging maintenance fees for each service instead of taking a more common sense approach with it to avoid "nickeling and diming" is not right. If you are replacing/fixing two things next to each other and easy to do simultaneously then why charge full maintenance prices for both services. That is nickel and dime practice, and just because most places do it doesn't make it right.
I do not think y'all are crooks but by no means are y'all an example either, based off of my experience. The same as the vast majority of mechanics with common but unfair practices. Ill continue my search for a mechanic shop I can build a relationship with and trust here in beautiful El Paso. They exist. I have found them in other cities I have lived in.
I am surprised at all of the 5 star reviews. Which is why I came in the first place. Again I feel this place is not terrible, but is very average. 3 stars at the very most, I am rating you two because I believe you didn't even assess my vehicle until the next day.

Have used this shop on three occasions now and all have been nothing short of excellent!
On our most recent visit, we had our vehicle serviced up prior to my daughter leaving with it to Albuquerque. We'd mainly went in for a tune up and a look over. The mechanic check it so thoroughly and luckily discovered a damaged suspension part we didn't even know we had.
They fixed it for such a reasonable price and got it handled while we ran some other errands for a few hours.
The car has never felt this good and she had a safe weekend trip with her friend!

I went in for an oil change & inspection & my car left looking cleaner & feeling better than when I went in, because they make an effort to help customers out. On this day I was even able to make an appointment. This helped out a lot as I have school work & didn't want to spend hours at a shop. Coolest thing is, they texted me to let me know when my car was ready.
