Q:
Is this restaurant usually open on the weekends? Have wanted to go multiple times but never open on a Saturday or Sunday, seems very weird.

The sweet potato fries ALONE... Makes this 5 stars. Ok... Sweet potato fries AND the comeback sauce. Mmm... And the ATL chick.
Ok listen, this spot is in the cut wedged between Bank of America and the back of Cornerstone Bank. It has about 7 booths and 4 tables (mostly 2 tops). Customer service is warm and friendly, it always feels like you've known the guys working for years.
Now the food...O.M.G. My favorite is the ATL chick which is juicy fried chicken breast tossed in buffalo sauce and... ANNNND... lemon pepper. Cmon. We're in ATL. What other way is there?! Then it has ranch drizzled on top and dressed how you want... lettuce, tomato, onion, pickle. Even the bread is yummy. The sweet potato fries are crispy and airy and go great with the comeback sauce which is whatever smoky heavenly concoction they came up with as a sauce.
Listen if you're in downtown Decatur... Do yourself a favor and get here! There is street parking available and you can pay by app or at the meter. It's about $2 for an hour.
They also serve salads, other sandwiches, and breakfast. Small collection of beer, wine, and cocktails.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Jul 18, 2018Previous reviewThe sweet potato fries ALONE... Makes this 5 stars. Ok... Sweet potato fries AND the comeback sauce. Mmm... And the ATL chick.

I was in the area to get my taxes done and decided to go grab a late lunch. The usual chain restaurants are all throughout Decatur but the name - Sidechick really pulled me in! Also, I love a buffalo chicken or hot chicken sandwich.
The meal itself - ATL Chick and a side salad was very tasty. The sandwich has their house sauce and lemon pepper sprinkles. I will say the quality of the chicken breast stood out. Everything is cooked fresh to order. The salad was basic - lettuce, tomato, cucumber and onion. The vinaigrette did standout and was tasty.
The location is somewhat tricky. It's a Clairemont Ave address but you can get there from Church Street too. It sits tucked away in an office park complex beside a garage. The immediate parking out front is $10 (the garage is free and a few steps away). It's all a bit misleading because this was Monday at about 2:15 PM and the lot was charging $10 with an attendant.
Service....made this review a 3/5. The front counter, chef, server and order taker (phone in) is all the same person. A one man show! I applaud his tenacity but servicing guests dining in was little to nothing. I noticed the place was rather dirty - windows and table tops. A trash can overfilled. Just small but important things that a person on the counter and floor could do.
I'm sure the locals in the area rely on the takeout - several calls and people came to-go. I love the interesting takes on a chicken sandwich so I'd return to try it along with the collard greens and slaw they were out of.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - May 17, 2023
What a great little hidden gem! It's a very small restaurant kinda located behind a building. They do have outside seating.
The woman at the register (so sorry I didn't get a name) she had a great energy. She was singing and dancing.
I ordered the pimento grilled cheese and oh my god! It was so good! The tomatoes with the pimento cheese is so darn good. Order it! Plus it doesn't take too long for them to make so that was a plus!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - May 8, 2023
So my first trip here I ended up getting a parking ticket that's par for the trip here. I stopped here because I wanted to get the Chicken & Hoecakes, it was close to breakfast so why not? The lady behind the counter tells me they never have breakfast, not that they are all out or I'm past breakfast serving time "They never have breakfast". Really? but it's on your website =

I figured i'd do the chicken strips and fries then, what I got was overcooked strips and too salty fries. Not a good "welcome to the neighborhood"Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - May 17, 2023
I was in the area and looking for a place to grab lunch and once I saw the name I had to try it haha! It's definitely a hidden gem, the fried chicken sandwich was amazing! My friend got the pimento grilled cheese and loved it as well. I love the vibes inside and the lady taking our order was super friendly. Definitely stop by if you are in the area!

The food was delicious, the service was great and the restaurant was a cute quick place. I had the ATL chick (lemon pepper, buffalo sauce and ranch) with a side of fried green tomatoes (cut like fries, something I've never had).

You wouldn't see this off of the main street because it's on the side of a building. Hence the name Sidechick: they specialize in chicken sandwiches and dishes and are located inside of a building. It's only 50 feet off of the main street.
The food is very tasty and the service is great and very friendly. This is more of a sandwich type shop but I really enjoyed the meal.Helpful 1Thanks 1Love this 0Oh no 0 - Nadia T.Atlanta, GA24416Oct 4, 2022
Excellent food! Great atmosphere and value. We stopped in late afternoon on a weekday it was quiet. We ordered the po-boy and pimento grilled cheese with sides of fries. Everything was delicious! The fries were AMAZING - they are "fair fry" style
Service was great. Love the local art for sale. Definitely will be back!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0
