Ithaca Ale House

The booths are comfy. Wait time was not bad at all. Food selection leaves a little to be desired and there isn't a lot on draft for an "ale house" but overall a good experience.

Here for a visit to Ithaca College and stopped in for dinner. Staff was friendly, restaurant was nice, beer and food was good.

We had a pizza and burger. Both were good.

It can be difficult to find a good late night spot so my boyfriend and I were pleasantly surprised to find this place is open until 1 am Thurs - Sat. We arrived around 8:30 pm for a late dinner and found they weren't too busy but more people were arriving around the same time as us.

I started with an old fashion which was amazing btw. For the price and how much is served, I ordered two. It's one of the best I've had so far out of the downtown Ithaca restaurants. For dinner, we shared the winter harvest salad as an appetizer which was delicious. For our entrees, we got the hot honey pizza and fish and chips with their sidewinder fries. The pizza wasn't bad and wish there was more of a wood fire crust. The fish and chips was a huge serving and I found the fries to be too thick for my liking. However, everything tasted great and we'd definitely be back!

Was on a college visit to Cornell and stopped for dinner. Excellent service, drinks were on point, and our meal was great! Had the smash burger. Highly recommend! It's elevated pub food to a next level. My daughter had the chicken sandwich which was also excellent. Also get the onion soup! You won't be disappointed.

Nice place to have lunch (or dinner) on a Saturday. We ordered pizza and the perfect burger, both were spot on.

I've been to Ithaca Ale House three times now and each time I love the food! The grilled cheese is amazing! I love to dip mine in ketchup and mustard! I have also ordered the truffle garlic pizza. I highly recommend it! The pub fries are good as well as the pita and hummus appetizer. They have a great selection of beer, wine and cocktails to boot. You'll love the purple branding throughout the restaurant. You can sit indoors out outdoors.

I've always been greeted with a smile! The staff is super friendly.

The service was amazing and the food hit the spot! Will definitely be going back. I got the chocolate peanut butter porter and it was like candy in a glass!

We sat down right away and enjoyed some very delicious food. As much as we could with my son having no interest in anything but playing with a toy he got from down the block, which of course he broke and then had to harass us as we tried to eat :P not their fault though. My son had a nice walk around the restaurant with whoever finished eating first at our table. It was a good last meal on our trip. I'd recommend this place.

Beer selection is okay, they have some local beers on draft that were good. The food is average, we tried the onion soup, the hot honey pizza, and the hummus. All were fine, but not super fresh or great quality.

The hostess is pretty terrible at her job, we came twice and asked to be seated outside both times, and both times she gave us a hard time about it (eg. saying we shouldn't sit outside because it was raining even though the tables are completely covered) before eventually agreeing to seat us outside. The servers are great though which made up for it.

I wouldn't recommend coming for dinner, maybe for a beer and a small snack.

Arrived at 8:30 on a Saturday night in late March. No wait, plenty of tables, but it took the hostess a full 3-4 minutes to acknowledge us, as she was taking a carryout order and then painstakingly entering it- and had to call for help to do that. No hello, no we'll be right with you. When she finally got around to it, she grabbed three menus and sat us in a booth.

2, 4, 6, 8 minutes passed as the (presumable) server for the section walked passed our table 11 times while affably waiting on those around us. He looked directly at our neat pile of menus at the end of the table several times while serving others and after 12 minutes and my family peeking out of the booth into the aisle, came over and greeted us: "I take it no one has taken care of you all?" Ya think??

We finally ordered. He delivered the drinks. Delivered the food. (We still had no silverware.) Never once stopped back to refill or see how things were.

Tasteless, lackluster food and horrible service. I'm giving the one star because I have to, and at least we didn't get sick.
