Really bad communication, never call in a timely manner to deliver results if at all. Very low availability so it is hard to get appointments. The vet is very nice which is why I am giving two stars. But some serious work should be done to fix their scheduling and the other admin staff.

We've gone to this vet for years and it's always been a fine visit. They are kind to our pets and clearly enjoy their work. But for the love of god do you have to be so strict with the Covid requirements? I walked in thinking the signs in the parking lot could not be serious after two and a half years of a pandemic and the receptionists looked at me like I was stupid when I entered the building. I have been to so many REAL healthcare settings that are way more relaxed than this. It's time to move on.

My dogs have been cared for by Issaquah Vet for over 7 years now. The staff and vets are so caring and helpful. I had a Boston terrier that I unfortunately lost to Cushing's disease. Dr. Rice was very helpful in planning his treatment. Doing all they could to give us options.
My family recently got another Boston terrier puppy who is happy and healthy. We decided to take her to Issaquah vet for her check ups and vaccinations because we know she'll be in great hands. Thank you for caring for my furry family Issaquah Vet.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Wickerlady V.Seattle, WA215817Feb 3, 2020Updated review
Update- 5 1/2 years later, we are still very happy with this place! Dr zimbelman has given our dog the best medical care, and given us many helpful tips on her training and lifestyle. Her vet tech remembers my dog and her idiosyncrasies although they only meet once a year now.
The clinic answers my questions over the phone quickly, and normally take a wait and watch approach instead of calling me in immediately. I feel they are honest too. For example, when my dog broke her nail, it only cost me $100 to have it removed. Another time for the same injury on the other leg there were no appointments available so we had to take her to Banfield and got charged $700 over two visits!
My only complaint is that They have gotten quite busy so sometimes they are not available on short notice and I have have to wait several days for an appointment. I would suggest that they prioritize regular/existing patients for appointments.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Oct 7, 2014Previous reviewWe just adopted a puppy a few months ago, and our friends recommended this place to us. They have been taking their 2 dogs here for many years.
The place looks like a sweet, small business, not like a chain vet hospital. They honored the Humane society's free first check up, and did a thorough check up. I have visited twice more, once for a routine booster shot, and once because of a health concern. Dr. Joan is very knowledgeable, and spends a lot of time with us. She patiently answers all our newbie questions and concerns, without once hurrying us.
For those who are wondering, Routine check ups are around $60 and booster shots are around $40.
I am very happy with the knowledge and service I have received here. - Chris M.San Francisco, CA0143Jan 20, 2020
We love this vet! Dr. Rice was very compassionate when Oscar was dying - taking great care of him (and us) during the last days. We are never pressured to have services we don't need - and the costs are about half what we paid at Alpine Hospital. The staff is great with our other dog Lola - easy to reach, friendly and professional. I can't recommend them highly enough.

I have been taking every dog I have ever had in my life here! The ownership and vets have changed through the years Dr Rice is great. Bailey is wonderful! They have stopped doing overnight care but day to day care is good. My only issue is how very expensive all care is.

I took my dog here for several years before we switched. Although the bedside manner of the staff there is gentle. They were very good at calming my nervous little dog. They were short on the preventive care. We took our dog there for all his medical needs but they neglected to discuss preventive care, Bordatella of which my dog seemed to get frequently in spit of being vaccinated, and other shots that were part of his care before coming here. They don't seem to treat the dog as a whole and don't bring up preventive care at annual checkups.
We switched vets after that.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Kianna B.Sammamish, WA0139Mar 11, 2019
Overall I think this is a good clinic. The doctors are nice and work well with dogs. However, I think the clinic is way too overpriced. They charge a ridiculous amount of money for things you can get done cheaper elsewhere.

This review is for a disheartening experience that occurred in early October of 2017. I failed to write it sooner because I am not a complainer; I am not a difficult customer or client, and I feared that the staff would attempt to erase it or belittle me, and they may still do so, but I would like this to be public for those thinking of using their services. I took my Miniature Schnauzer here for the first time for what I suspected may be a UTI. I had high hopes for them becoming our regular vet for his medical care. I entered with a very positive attitude and hoped to be greeted with the same. All of the staff that I encountered, minus the receptionist who just seemed fairly uncomfortable, were incredibly serious, grouchy and stern. They took my dog outside to the front parking area, while I filled out my paperwork, to attempt to collect a urine sample with a small pot that was taped to a stick. No luck after about three minutes, they brought him back in, quite irritated, and said we'd just move on with the exam then. My dog can be very incessant with his barking (quite a common trait in the Miniature Schnauzer) and the two women seeing him had absolutely zero tolerance for it. The assistant was very quick to abruptly squeeze his muzzle shut, resulting in a whimper from my dog, and yell "no bark!" directly in his face through her gritted teeth. This occurred several times over the five minutes it took them to conducted their $70 exam. They said they would be taking him outside again to collect a urine sample in their pot contraption and they'd be back in a few minutes. Approximately 20 minutes later they finally returned, and the woman holding my dog away from her body as if he were a dirty diaper, sporting such a look of contempt on her face, tells me they forced a catheter into his penis instead, without filling me in or asking for my consent, because they didn't wish to wait around for him to pick a bush he'd like to scent mark. "Yeah, he really didn't like it", said one of them in an awfully aggravated tone. I was mortified; I would have gotten the sample for them myself before walking though the doors if I had known they'd be so cold and impatient. A quick in-house test strip ($75 more) reviled potentially inconclusive results regarding his urine, but they prescribed a week's worth of cephalexin anyway. They said they'd call in a few days and check up on us, but never bothered doing so. All in all, a very tense, concerning and disappointing visit. I myself am an animal care professional and understand the extreme importance of bedside manner - trust between the owner and the caregiver is critical. This establishment throughly failed.
