I know this is a two star hotel and I'm giving at four stars. But, the owners are terrific and the rooms are exactly what you expect (clean and neat).
Two friends and I on a 2000 mile motorcycle touring trip from New England stayed here the night after we rode the tail of the Dragon (9/11/2018). If you're looking for an inexpensive but safe and clean place to stay I recommend it.
The only downside, is the lack of quality food choices around. It is franchise heaven and by this point in our trip-we had been on the bikes for four days-we were a little tired of Mexican food and Hardees.
The good news is there's a Starbucks around the corner for a decent cuppa coffee and breakfast, anyway.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Marilee B.Duluth, GA01Jul 29, 2020
I can't say enough good things about the service and stay at this Econo Lodge. We were pleasantly greeted at check in and then settled into a very clean, well-maintained room. Over our 3 week road trip we stayed at numerous hotels and this was among the very best, even when compared to the 4 star Paris hotel in Las Vegas where we found someone else's socks! And to top the stay off, the owner himself held the free continental breakfast late when we didn't realize that we had crossed into the Eastern time zone. He even went out of his way to make my daughter a Belgian waffle for breakfast, making a fresh batch of batter. Thank you so much for a wonderful and relaxing stay before the last leg of our trip home to Massachusetts!!

This was day two of our 2014 summer vacation. This year, we're travelling "on the cheap" as best we can. This motel fit the bill, thanks to a Google search and by using booking agent Orbitz. After taxes, the room ended up being around $45.
You get what you pay for in motels, certainly. They have rooms that are outside and inside entrance style. Ours happened to be inside. Common areas needed some maintenance, like paint and minor structure fixes. Rooms had basic amenities. The tv's had been updated...some channels even were available in HD. Wi-fi was available and free. Typical download speeds were around 3 mbps, although I did clock some numbers well over 10 mbps. There was no throttling for individual users. If there wasn't much bandwidth being used, you got to use whatever was available. Signal strength was spotty in one of our rooms. I figured they only had a handful of AP's in the whole building.
The "free breakfast" wasn't a lot to speak of...coffee and pastries was about it.
Rooms were clean, but we had a small AC issue in our room...on of the knobs was broken, so I had to move it between the temp and fan controls. Also, on the two rooms I got to be in, the AC units were a little undersized. In my room, I ran it on max cold/max fan all night just to keep it comfortable.
A couple of other notes: by booking online, I got a pretty good rate. However, the lady at the desk was not happy that I booked that way. She asked why I didn't call in. I didn't really answer her, but my reasoning was I was on the road and already in Google. Booking it that way made sense at the time. In addition, I don't think they had a system to sync up their room inventory with Orbitz. She had to log in to her email to find my reservation (which I had prepaid for). I was lucky that I didn't prepay for the room and get there only to find that they didn't have any rooms.
In summary, the Inn of Lenoir was a quiet and clean place to put a roof over your head, but don't expect anything fancy.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
