IVL is so great. As a volleyball player I feel really lucky to have such an accessible, fun, year-round league with so many different format and nightly options.
It brings a lot of good people together for some very competitive volleyball. With reverse coed, coed, men's, and women's in all different skill levels it really gives one a lot of options.
My only complaint is that because the players ref the other players we tend to start later than we should, which results in getting out later and ultimately, less sleep for me.
Overall, I love being able to play as often as I want with so many different groups of people. Bay Area volleyball players are really lucky to have it. Especially when you don't want to wait around for the monthly NCVA tournaments.

IVL is the first place you should look if you are interested in playing indoor volleyball. They offer leagues Monday through Thursday at various locations in the Bay Area. There are Men's, Women's, Coed, and Reverse Coed leagues accommodating players with a range of skill levels, from those who have just started learning volleyball (coed B), to players who have played on their college team. It's really a lot of fun, great competition, good exercise, and a nice way to meet people.

The guy who runs the leagues, Kirk Anderson, has been doing this for over 25 years, and knows how to run leagues! He's also very helpful if you have any questions.

There's a free agent list on the IVL website if you are interested in playing but don't have a team. Check it out!

Probably one of the best adult leagues around, so many options such as reverse coed, women's, men's, & coed of all levels. I have had some good times in this league and met a lot of really awesome people.

However, it definitely can use some tweaking. I know for a fact that it is possible for a women's league to start on time, I have played in basketball leagues where we would start on the dot. It just seems ridiculous to have a 7:20 first serve listed and actually start closer to 8. I know this is more the players fault than it is IVL's but, unless there is a consequence it will never change, it is rough to drive home from Foothill after 11pm every Thursday. I stopped playing NCVA women's for the same reason. Whoever, is chosen as the supervising team needs to be assertive and borderline aggressive.

      IVL... mmmm

There is nothing else of this sort for people who want to play some competitive or fun volleyball in loose leagues around the south bay.

The leagues are self-officiated, grouped into loose skill levels, and competitive.

There will always be some gripes about how different teams don't fit into different leagues, how some teams officiate looser or tighter, and just general gripes. But in all, Kirk does a good job of trying to regulate this, mediate some of the differences, and take a bit of corrective action when things stray.

There are generally a couple different seasons, and quite a few different levels, all held at school gyms during the evenings at different locations depending on the skill level. The leagues usually run for about 10 weeks or so, with a officated(he brings them in) playoff night for a winner. Winners get t-shirts and usually a nice new volleyball.

Overall a very good experience and something for alot of single people to as well.

A great volleyball league for all levels. The rates are reasonable. The people in the league in general are friendly and with professional attitudes.

My friends and I are glad to have found this league to play in and we plan to play in this league for as long as we can.

Join in and have a great time.
