Per suggestions from friends, I wanted to try axe throwing. My group had a great time at the Indoor Extreme Sport''s new Axes & Arrows in LIC. We booked an afternoon public play session online. There's also an option of booking a private pit for your group for an additional cost. The facility offers timeslots from early morning through late evening and I'd recommend going at an off-peak time (it seems the earlier the emptier) if you're not into potentially sharing your pit with other parties.
Eric was great at instructing my group on axe throwing and even offered the option for archery at the end. He taught us multiple ways of handling the axe (stepping forward vs. standing still, two-handed versus one-handed techniques, etc.) and was very encouraging despite having not landed much during the first half of the session (it's initially much harder than he made it look). We also played a bunch of mini games for the duration of our session and the friendly competition kept things fun. Archery was also a nice plus since throwing axes for an hour straight can get quite exhausting.
Definitely would recommend checking out the axe throwing! Hoping to visit again for axe throwing or to try other activities.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

I celebrated my birthday here and had an indoor paintball party with a group of 15. I didn't have an issue with it, but they use small "bullets" instead of actual paint because paint is very expensive. Therefore, there's no need to worry about getting your clothes dirty.
I didn't get any bruises but many of my friends did. It was completely worth it though because everyone had a lot of fun and the pain was definitely bearable. We played capture the flag and dead man zone, which is basically when you have to get everyone from the other team out.
Everyone, even people who are not usually active had fun. All of my friends don't know each other, but it's also an activity that makes people get to know each other and gets rid of any awkwardness.
Definitely check it out but also be aware that if you are hosting a party and are over the age of 18, it does not come with a free pizza. This was frustrating because I called and was told otherwise. Despite this, the manager refused to honor my request to get the pizza for free. Thankfully, the pizza they ordered for us was messed up, so they were nice enough to order another pizza and give us two pizzas for the price of one.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Aug 24, 2019
***Great customer service, Needs stronger A/C, Very fun in large group settings***
I came here to celebrate a friend's birthday. We were a large group playing black ops laser tag and it was really fun. The host who explained the rules, etc was very helpful and patient. Some of the equipment was falling apart (i.e. the vest buckles were broken or non-existent) and the place itself needed stronger A/C.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - Jan 15, 2020
I did my birthday party here and I had a good experience and no issue.
I noticed other reviews mentioned your personal belongings aren't secure here, so we rented out a locker rather than depending on the staff to watch our items for us.
We did the Black Ops experience and it was a lot of fun and you get a good workout.
It was a trip to get here, but I would come back again.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 46614Jun 22, 2019Updated review
Since the first experience back in April was wonderful, we went back again to celebrate my daughters 13th birthday and she had a blast a few weeks ago. Again, the staff deserve all of the praises they can get for making the experience wonderful, calm, fun and organized. During axe throwing, our host JC helped calm the newcomers that came with us and kept the atmosphere light, energetic and fun. JC even join in on the game with us when we were one person short which made the birthday girl very happy. Then when it was time for Zombie Laser tag, a familiar face from the first time we went, Andrew (who now is manager and well deserved), came out and spent the time with us as host in the arena. My group was glad to see him and felt like he was part of the family already (this can give you the sense of the family environment and how inviting it is).
The birthday girl left with a smile on her face and as a parent, that's what we strive for. The newcomers left wowed to how much fun they had - still can't believe it to this day. Those that return the second time, did not want to stop and want to plan another trip already. Thank you Indoor Sports again for the extraordinary time!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

Apr 7, 2019Previous reviewThis was a great experience to celebrate my sons 17th birthday with friends and family. The location was clean and friendly and everyone had an amazing time.
We planned this at the last minute and David and Christine were so patient, comforting and helpful - they were able to relieve my wife's anxiety on the phone. When we arrived Margarita and David helped get us checked in fast. They even joked around and made the birthday boy feel extra special.
At the axe throwing, Andrew engaged with us as if we've known each other forever and was part of the family.
At the zombie laser tag, our hostess, Veronica, was AWESOME. MY daughter was a bit apprehensive about the zombie sound effects and Veronica did everything in her power to assure her that the sounds were not real and she would be okay - Veronica even lowered the sound effects to make my daughter calm down. Everyone came out of this experience enjoying every moment they were there.
I recommend this place to all. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU to David, Christine, Margarita (Cece) and Veronica - you all made the experience a wonderful evening and represented your establishment to its utmost professionalism. - Josh E.North Miami Beach, FL32140Mar 16, 2018
We were a group of 9 for my dads surprise birthday party. We did the laser tag and it was a lot of fun. It brought out the competitiveness in us and was able to see a whole different side to my family that's normally not seen on a given day.
There are 2 teams (Red team and Blue team). Each side has its own home base on opposite sides of the laser tag area. The guns themselves, feel very realistic like your typical M16, M4, or AR15. They weigh about 10 pounds and have the option of semi or auto-fire. Out of the barrel flashes a laser. The vest you wear has special sensors that pick up the laser when your opponent shoots you (assuming they got good aim). I guess a few hits from the opponents laser and you are out.
Overall, we had a fantastic time and all agreed to do this again when the whole family is back together again in NY. The 2 instructors helping us set up and and refereeing the game were very courteous, patient, and professional. So I want to give a shout out to Shomari and Jonathan for putting up with my crazy family. Thank you!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 4Oh no 0 - Meow Mix C.New York, NY01802Aug 7, 2020Updated review
Update:
Went to this place again (pre Covid) completely by chance, as part of a corporate event that I did not organize. Nothing has changed. The same incompetent immature teenagers are still running this train wreck. Overpriced services and broken/smelly equipment.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Jun 2, 2016Previous reviewWe went as a large group for a paintball birthday party (a bunch of early 30 somethings) and it was a mediocre experience. The original plan was to trek out to somewhere in Long Island for a true outdoor paintball experience but planning it was a nightmare so we settled on this place when we decided to stay local. I booked about 3 weeks in advance and was only able to get a 10pm slot on a Saturday night (book early, everyone). The reservation process was a pain in the ass as it involves filling out an online request and then waiting for their call and then asking for available times and then reading your credit card number over the phone in order to book. It's 2016, why is this not done online? The person who reserved me spelled my name and email address wrong as well, so there was some back and forth to finally get reserved.
We get there at 9:45 on the night of with everyone's waivers signed online but it took 15 minutes alone just to get the check-in person's attention and another 20 minutes to check in. There were huge crowds of annoying and loud teenagers there and only 2 people working the front desk, so it was a nightmare. After that fiasco, we were shuttled over to the locker room and given a quick less than 10 minute run down on how to use the paintball guns, etc. Bring your own lock if you want to use the lockers. To our disappointment, the paintball field is subdivided into smaller playing areas for each private group. It's tiny. Like way smaller than a tennis court. There are these giant blow-up obstacle type things you can hide behind but since they are inflatable, the whole thing sways and moves as you attempt your best Call of Duty moves next to it. The worst part of all was the complete lack of air conditioning! The weather wasn't even hot yet the inside of that entire facility was like a boiling furnace that smelled like armpit and farts and Satan's butthole. You'd think they would control the temperature a bit better considering that there are people running and sweating up a storm in there. It was so bad that everyone started to sweat and fog up inside of the protective helmet immediately after it was put on. Couldn't see anything I was shooting, and couldn't take the helmet off to wipe the sweat down until the match is over because of safety reasons (getting shot in the face). Turn up the f*ckin air, dudes. What the hell is up with that? The staff wasn't great either. Our referee guy was about as enthusiastic as a paper bag and seemed annoyed when people asked for help as the guns jammed every other round. Safety didn't seem to be a priority here either, as I saw a lot of questionable shit that scared me. The employees responsible for maintaining safety of all these weapons seemed to all be under 21. Scary. And to top it all off, you're given limited ammo every couple of rounds so if you happen to run out or they spill out of the crappy canisters they give you then you're out of luck. The dude just shrugged and just told us to pick pellets up off the floor. What?
Despite all that, it was alright. The birthday boy enjoyed himself and the rest of the guys seemed to enjoy it more than the girls. We all left with quarter shaped bruises all over our bodies, lol. Would I come back here again? Probably not. If I did I would just stick to Laser Tag for safety reasons. It was a little bit of a rip off at $46 a person for less than an hour of play (there are breaks in between each round). However, they are the only accessible indoor paintball place in the city so I guess this place is worth trying out if you're into this sort of stuff. Just remember to wear your strongest deodorant. - Nov 24, 2019
I came here for laser tag and had a really good time. The place is a bit of a dump but the experience was super fun. Staff did a good job explaining the games and the ammunition, and it was kid-friendly too. They do a lot of birthday parties and you even have the option to order pizza when you're there. $49 may sound like a lot, but it's totally worth it.

I did the ZOMBIE EXPERIENCE on a Friday night with a group of friends and it was INCREDIBLE!! It's part laser tag, part escape room, and part haunted house - and it was super f'ing fun!!!!
A couple of us (myself included) were very nervous about how scary it would be - while it IS scary (zombies WILL pop out at you), we all got into the swing of things pretty quickly. There are also actors who were on our side who would guide and help us, which made me feel better!
Speaking of which, it's important to note that this is absolutely an IMMERSIVE experience - we weren't just blindly shooting zombies, we were interacting with the actors, making decisions about whether to find a vaccine vs a cure, whether to split up or work as a group, etc. I really want to go back and make some different choices to see how it changes the experience!!
There are puzzles to be solved here, too - while the puzzles are generally simpler than what you would find in escape rooms, it's pretty challenging to solve them while you've got zombies coming at you. Since I was there with a group of close friends, it was pretty for us to work as a team so that some of us could focus on the task at hand while others kept an eye out for zombies. However, I can imagine that being more difficult if you were to play this with strangers.
Overall, it was a truly thrilling experience - it really got our hearts racing, asked us to utilize our problem-solving skills, and forced us to make some ethical choices along the way too.
Can't wait to come back!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0
