We had a saturday night dinner here after the strong recommendations of many (Indian) friends, but were very disappointed. Maybe we ordered the wrong foods? Perhaps an off night? But service was very disorganized and our entrees had no taste...the malai kofta was not even worth finishing and the okra do piaza looked appetizing, but aside from the onions, completely bland. The naan was soaked in grease. Our friends still swear it's the best Indian place they've found in the Baltimore area, but we were left wanting last weekend. Perhaps they're experiencing growing pains...we'll try again in 6 months.
1/31/07: OK, I'm increasing my stars after giving Indiclub a second try with takeout - I tried the channa masala, one of my favorites, and this time is was quite tasty and the naan was not so greasy ! Maybe they were having an off night on our first visit? We'll try it again....Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Tricia P.Towson, MD452772Nov 28, 2010
Indy Club has a funny location, but they are serious about their food! I've been here for lunch several times, the buffet is always delicious and there is always alot to choose from... Yummy great service, low price, cant beat it.

My Indian friends at work recommended this place and now I am a semi-regular (about once a month) for lunch. They have a buffet at lunch which allows me to try a bit of everything.

I can't believe this place has not got recent and enough reviews. Granted it did change names. It is now called Paradise. I will also post under that name if I can. I've been here once for a saturday afternoon buffet and absolutely loved the food. What makes it unique is that the food is south indian as opposed to all the north indian food you get to eat elsewhere. Being south Indian myself, I am tired of north indian food. South indian food is very different from north indian food in so many ways.
The buffet was very abundant. varieties of rice dishes, meat, and vegetables. vegetarians will not go hungry here.there was even a vegetarian biryani.
I enjoyed the medu vadas (look like doughnuts) and idlis which are usually a breakfast or lunch item served with sambar (lentil soup) or chutney. my favorite was the goat curry and the eggplant dish. Paradise introduces you to a different type of dessert - rather than the rice kheer or gulab jamun, we had laddoos and mysore pak (both are size of a doughnut hole).
ambience-wise - this place is pretty decent, other than the water damage spots on the ceiling, it was pretty clean and the wait staff were friendly and accomodating. i do agree that it is a little tricky to locate the restaurant.
in any event, i plan to go back as often as I can.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
