Feeling what's left of the winter by sitting outside in the patio with the family where pets are welcomed. We enjoyed our dinner, food was good. We like big servings so the portion was a bit too small for a big stomachs. Will visit again and try a different dish so we can have variety of options.

Really, really bad. What happened? The food is like eating at Cici's pizza buffet. Wood oven pizza came out with soggy crust. Not sure how you do that. Boxed noodles with jarred sauce poured on it and frozen meat. You place your order as you walk in before sitting down and then you're kind of on your own after that. 1 small pizza, 2 pasta dishes, 1 tea and 2 waters all came out to $80 not including tip. SMH. So bad...

I had the vegetarian lasagna. This time it was really skimpy of the ricotta cheese and not quite as I remembered it from the past. The cheesecake was wonderful as usual and I paid for extra cherries. Yum. The young server was very attentive, which is why I gave it a 4 this time instead of a 3.

Got the spinach salad with red onions, roasted red peppers, pine nuts and blue cheese crumbles. It was some kind of green herb dressing. I was not very keen on the dressing. It came with a slice of sour dough bread. The pepperoni pizza was good, but half of the pizza had no pepperoni and was charred black. Hmmm? We shared a slice of our favorite NY Style cheesecake and paid for extra black cherry topping, my favorite. We like that they have a bonus points program, and we used our dollars off.thank you!
May 18, 2021Previous reviewToday we had an ever popular pepperoni pizza and an order of meat lasagna bolognese with rustic crusty Italian bread. I ordered a bowl of the tomato basil soup too. When it was served, it was a half empty bowl and barely lukewarm. I complained and they then provided me with a fuller bowl, that was warmer. The kitchen should not have served cold soup. After our food was served, our server never came near us to refill our iced tea or give us takeout boxes. I had to go track down the manager to get what I needed. Too bad. Good food and bad service. That can make or break a meal.
Jan 23, 2021Previous reviewWe ordered a meal with DoorDash from here. From order to delivery, it was about 45-50 minutes. It arrived cold and the lasagna bolognese was awful. It was a miniature dried out serving with little sauce. The noodles, smear of sauce and skimpy amount of cheese along with 2 forks of ricotta cheese and one fork of meat that did not cover the lower layers was such a disappointment. $14 for almost nothing. We have eaten here before many times and know what to expect for this meal and this was not it. Shame on the kitchen for letting this out the door. Inedible!
Oct 4, 2020Previous reviewWe went and placed our order, then taking a table outside. We ordered Sprite for the kids, iced tea for the bigs, and water all around. The drinks were delivered, and the kids only got water. Had to call the waiter back when we spotted her to ask for their Sprites. Also needed ice for iced tea, that had melted. The burata salad was delivered the same time as the pasta entree. Usually salads come first.
They offer pizza dough for the kids to play with. We ordered it at the counter when placing the order, and we had to ask twice for it at the table.
Had to flag waiter down for ice tea refills. Had to ask for straws for the Sprites, that did not come with them.
Missed having the fresh shaved Parmesan done at the table. A skimpy little plastic tub with a micro amount was supplied.
I know this is Covid time, but we had to ask for everything that should be automatic, like salt and pepper. Service was sketchy. Only a few tables were full both inside and out, and the servers were not very attentive.
The lasagna was good, but the portion seemed smaller, like one less layer. Only veggie present was spinach. No broccoli, carrot, or zucchini like in prior visits. The ricotta was almost non existent. Not much to it.
We like this place, but this was a disappointing visit.Jun 10, 2020Previous reviewBack again after the Covid--19 shut down. It was good as ever. Only 5 other parties other than ours when there. Please go back and support this wonderful restaurant. The pizza is wonderful. Love their crust. The vegetarian lasagna was tasty and the spinach salad was huge and full of goodies. Please support Il Vincino.
Mar 23, 2019Previous reviewThe tomato basil soup was to die for. The freshly made vegetable lasagna with tons of cheese was great. The first star of the show though was the wood oven thin crust pepperoni pizza. Toasted bubble edges were so crispy and wonderful. The grand finale was the extra creamy mile high cheesecake with candied black cherries and cherry sauce. We will rush back here again.
Well, we are back. Just as good as last time. Tried the spinach salad this time. We ate here shortly after moving to Abq, but never reviewed it. It was time to fill our pizza craving and decided to come here. It was fairly busy, a large party was just finishing so seating was opening up. Ordered the 10" Molta Carne and a couple of drinks and found a place to wait for our pie. It was delivered quickly, burnt on the upper layer of crust. A replacement was offered but we said no thanks- I expect a little burnt crust on wood fired pizza. The pizza had great taste - the burnt crust didn't effect that. The center was moist. But that's where the veggies were. While the edges were crispy. There was a lot of flavor and texture. My only complaint is they only offer 2 sizes 7" & 10". The 10" is too small to share between 2.

We decided to go to Il Vicino after seeing a recent picture of a pizza from the Nob Hill location. We haven't been for many years. First, the price point is good. We had a meatball pizza, house salad and hubby had a large beer. The service was outstanding. The staff worked together to ensure customers were happy, had what they needed, and refilled drinks. The salad was very good. The veggies were fresh and the creamy Parmesan dressing was delicious. The salad came pre-dressed and I have to say, the amount of dressing they used was perfect. I don't like my salad dripping in dressing and want to taste the veggies. The pizza was okay. Part of it was our choice, I think. The meatballs were bland and the sweetness of the balsamic onions sort of overwhelmed the flavor. Also, the pizza could have benefitted from some additional time in the oven, the center was floppy. We ate it and it was okay, just nothing to write home about. We will go again but try another pizza next time. Restaurant was quite busy but didn't feel rushed and food came out quite quickly.

I hadn't been to ll Vicino in over ten years. I visited today with coworkers and the food was delicious!! I had the large ll Vicino Salad with a creamy parmesan dressing! Oh yum! My friend had the lunch special; pizza and a kale salad. It looked so good! We both had a mango cider which was very good!
I'm so glad that I gave it a chance today after all these years!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Perla M.Portland, OR47449Aug 4, 2023
Super long wait, but it was worth it. Unfortunately, their systems went down on the day we went in, and they are still getting a 5-star review. The customer service was great. The service was as speedy as possible under the circumstances, and their salad was superb. Fresh clean and delicious. Their Tiramisu was delish. My daughter and I sat outside facing the view of the mountains.

I'm sorry but I was not impressed with anything. It was our date night and we like to try new places. For the pizza being cooked by a fire it was not crispy at all I've had better pizza elsewhere. The service was not that good. And then they ask you to tip before I got my food I can't tip if I don't know what it tastes like. Come on let try it first.
