Visited Tamalpie Sunday afternoon after a hike in Tiburon and was pleasantly surprised. They have a cozy outdoor seating area with a fire pit which is very nice.
We ordered the calamari and Caesar salad to start. The Caesar was very good, but on the heavier side with dressing.
We ordered the Tenderfoot and Railroad Grade pizzas, which balanced one another out perfectly. The Tenderfoot was a white sauce with mushrooms, while the Railroad Grade had your typical tomato sauce and provided the right amount of saltiness with the pepperoni.
Loved that the pizza was super thin crust, yet held its form with a nice crisp. Would definitely come again if in the area!Helpful 0Thanks 1Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

My friends and I came to Tamalpie after hiking in Marin and we were STARVING. We brought our dog to the dog friendly outdoor seating which was a plus. The waitress was friendly and attentive and our food came out quickly.
The calamari wasn't as crispy as I usually like but it could have been because we put lemon on it. The Caesar salad was good but didn't blow me away since the dressing was unevenly dispersed. The star of the show was the Tenderfoot (mushroom) pizza! The crust was soft and baked to perfection. My boyfriend really liked the Railroad grade (pepperoni) pizza and also agreed that the crust was fantastic.
I would definitely go back and sit outside on the patio by the fireplaces on a cool night. I love that it's dog friendly!Helpful 1Thanks 1Love this 2Oh no 0Business owner information

Thank you so much. I’m glad that you enjoyed it. It’s really nice when people appreciate how hard we work and what we do to make our guests happy.

One of the better pizza places in Marin. My gripe is $20 for a salad which is somewhat absurd. The thing they got right here is the crust.

Thank you for your 4 stars! We do our very best to bring value and quality to our menu. Honestly it’s all so expensive from the produce to the person washing the leaves!
I wish I could say I’m raking in the dough! But margins in this business, especially in mill valley, are bare.
All I can do is say thank you for supporting local, and a single restaurant operator

Came on a Sunday and started with mimosas. My boyfriend said it was the best mimosa that he had tasted. It was a bit of a cold day but the fireplace kept us warm. We ordered calamari for appetizer. It was delicious. Then ordered the ham and pineapple pizza and breakfast pizza. Both were amazing. Staff continued to make sure we were okay. Filled my boyfriend's water multiple times (I had wine). Excellent service.

Food was delicious and my non alcoholic drink was so tasty and refreshing. Service was on point, everyone was so friendly and attentive. Who wouldn't love eating by a warm fire and enjoying great company! I loved the ambiance overall. Highly recommend the Tenderfoot pizza, or any pizza really, their dough is amazing!

My husband and I had dinner here on Tuesday and we were blown away by how delicious the food was. The special salad was exquisite with hazelnuts and crispy onion. The Wild Mushroom Risotto was creamy and cheesy and a taste sensation.
The pear and apple brioche bread pudding sent us into rapturous delight! It was an elevated dining experience in a warm and welcoming local place. We cannot recommend it enough.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Bob M.CA, CA204222May 14, 2023
Waited at the entrance longer than expected with relatively little business on a Sunday afternoon. Giants baseball on two TVs over the bar with faint reggae music playing in the background. Took a long time to get their attention to ask for the check, and, afterwards, to pay.
Food was meh. Soggy fried calamari starter. Served us meatballs free of charge, a saving grace, due to our misplaced order. We tried their $16 Bloody Mary, but for a drink served in a pint glass, and at that price, we didn't feel any of the kick we had anticipated. Tried two pizzas, both lacking salt, and, despite bragging about raising their dough for 48 hours, lackluster.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 2Business owner information

Hi Bob, I’m sorry you did not have a good experience at my restaurant.
Today was Mother’s Day, and we have been beyond busy! I’m sorry that you saw it slow there(unless this was last Sunday)
And again apologies for losing your ticket and that you didn’t like the food.
Please allow me to make it up to you by providing you with excellent service and a free meal next time. Just ask for Karen.
Thanks for understanding sometimes we make mistakes. - 1417476May 9, 2023
We were stuck with a flat tire and this pizza place was in walking distance. My GF went and picked up a Hawaiian pizza with amazing thin crust. It was great - everything about the pizza was on hit.
The only drawback was the price - pricey for a pizza.

Thank you for your kind words.
I wish I could charge less. Everything is going crazy right now we import all of our ingredients for the pizza dough and prices are off the charts. - 25209184May 8, 2023
While stranded in Mill Valley with a flat tire we found this place that was walking distance from Safeway. Pizza always makes things better (ice cream too). They had some unique pizza pies. We just wanted a classic ham and pineapple and didn't need all the fancy foo-foo fluff. We got the Summit minus the pepperoncini and feta. They had the best pineapple I've ever had on a pizza. Fresh thick juicy pieces mixed with the savory Black Forest ham was a great combination. It was a thin crust the way the boyfriend likes it. We polished the entire pie in one sitting. Granted we were stuck stranded for 6 hours and the pizza was the best thing we had going for us. It was a bit pricey but a *tip* - if you check in on Yelp you save 15%.

After a hike, beer and pizza is the next best thing. So we decided to stop by for a late lunch and it was such a great idea. There were just a couple of people sitting outside. So strange because it was a gorgeous day...maybe we got lucky.
Beer of course was delish! Next time, I'll ask for the pizza to hang in the oven longer. I loved the variety of mushrooms on the tenderfoot pizza. The garden green salad was summer in a bowl. I couldn't deny myself after looking at the dessert menu. I ended up with a scoop of chocolate gelato. What a way to wrap up the day!
