Flew down for a cruise last week and stayed here the night before we set sail.
We're a big fan of Hyatt Place and frequently stay at the Mohegan Sun one here in CT. This Florida one has the same exact layout and it was cozy, familiar and comforting. Check in was a breeze with the exception of an elevator glitch (one was out of order and was being worked on, resulting in the only other elevator becoming quite busy and hence making longer wait times)
The bed was relaxing. The air conditioning worked great (we liked the noise it produced as well as some of us enjoy white noise to sleep to).
The complimentary breakfast the next morning was well stocked and refilled as needed. Yay for french toast sticks. Eggs needed salt.
Overall the stay was a bit pricy, but it was within walking distance to some restaurants so that was a plus!!Helpful 9Thanks 1Love this 4Oh no 0 - 11668129958Jan 2, 2024
This is my third time at this hotel, and I don't have a single bad thing to say! The location is perfect, with a quick drive to the airport and local stores. The on-site amenities such as the gym, full services restaurants, goods store, and coffee shop make you feel like you won't have to ever leave.
We were here around the time of a Christmas party, but that didn't change service for us at all. We were greeted, they discussed the property, and were given excellent rooms. My stay was 5 stars!Helpful 10Thanks 1Love this 12Oh no 0 - May 12, 2024
Despite being tagged as an airport and cruise hotel, this one's MUCH quieter and more business traveller oriented than others close to the airport and cruise port. Easy parking and lots of restaurants and functional life stuff shops are walkable. (Maybe be super careful trying to cross Sheridan....) standard Hyatt place layouts and features. It was clean and comfortable.

This is the second Hyatt Place I've ever been to, and I returned to this brand due to a stellar experience at HP in downtown Gainesville. However, our experience here was subpar and incomparable.
Pluses:
I enjoy that all rooms have a seperate L-shaped couch as a seating area so there is always someplace to sit rather than just the beds.
The free breakfast, while not Gainesville's sweet spread, was still miles better than the free breakfasts served at similarly tiered hotel chains.
Free wi-fi that actually worked.
Negatives:
Hotel is older than I had assumed based on the pictures and the decor is not beautiful or fun. Rooms were way smaller than G-ville. Even the cable only had a couple of nice channels on it.
The breakfast was under served with no waffle machine or silverware and gross looking food (burned potatoes, eggs not even remotely trying to be scrambled and just a gross smooshed mess, clearly frozen fruit in a pool of purple). Also the hot water carafe was tiny.
Pool was in the parking lot. Yuck! Who wants to go to a pool next to car fumes?
Now for the weird experience while there:
despite the parking lot location, my kids wanted to swim in the pool, which they did for at least an hour. a hotel worker came outside and looked around, then went back inside. a few minutes later, a different hotel worker came out looking around and asked us if we had seen a dead bird. Nope! She explained that someone had called in to report a dead bird in the pool. Since none of the people present at the pool had seen it she said it had to be a mistake and went back inside. my smart kid looked around and decided to check the overflow container where debris collects and he saw the dead bird in there. Of course we reported this and the og employee came out and removed it.
However, my kids swam in a pool with water shared by a dead animal in part due to employee negligence. 2 different employees did not check the debris container of the pool, which should be standard for any debris being reported in a pool area! Who knows how long someone had reported that, since no one else had been at the pool since we first arrived. We received zero apology and did not observe any attempt to chlorinate the pool or anything like that for future unsuspecting guests.Helpful 9Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Dec 26, 2022
Super mediocre hotel. The bed was comfy though.
The air conditioning was loud as hell and the room was small for the 5 people we had. The pull out couch had enough room for approximately one adult. Maybe two children. The rooms were measured so precisely that if there were any extreme temperature changes that the bathroom door would probably not make it past the toilet for opening and closing. Haha!
Breakfast was good. I had no complaints there!
One big perk is the location though. Lots of businesses and random chain shops and restaurants that are walking distance!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Wayne F.Washington, NJ274Mar 2, 2024
Stayed here after reading good reviews before cruise. The sound from the highway was awful. the breakfast was not great. There are better hotels for $500

It started rough the first day & it got better thanks everyone for the amazing welcome. We were there when it was a flash flood warning. They were good help.

Be warned, there are two Hyatt Place hotels within a few miles of each other so make sure you are going to the one where you have your reservation. I learned this by going to the other hotel but was the desk agent was nice enough to re-direct me to the correct hotel. This hotel is typical Hyatt Place. Appreciated the ease of check in and helpful staff. Also easily accessible to the interstate.

I stayed at this hotel on my way to Haiti and on our way back. It was nice they had a free airport pick up and drop off. They also had breakfast in the morning for us which was nice since we were in a hurry to get to the airport to make our international flight on time. The African-American receptionist lady was very nice I did not catch her name but she was very polite and made us feel super welcomed. I also really enjoyed Mario who was the shuttle driver he did an amazing job and was very friendly and made us feel super welcome first thing when we met him. I love the location it was close by so many restaurants and stores. I will definitely use this hotel again. I also really like the style of the room it was nice to have that extra little couch area and two double beds.

Meh..... that's all I have for my stay here. The room had absolutely terrible air quality and the only options with the air are polar or desert storm. Which is why upon check out we now have sniffles and annoying coughs. Although the room was surface clean when you look closely there was disgusting dirt build up and guck on the floor, on the window, around the toilet etc. AND the bathroom door didn't close because it couldn't get past the toilet. It was like working a Rubik's cube just to figure out how to go to the bathroom in peace. One quick plop on the couch produced flying particles all through the air..... it was a beyond underwhelming experience
