Adelita's Restaurant

Great little find on our drive down to the desert. Nothing clicked driving through Barstow, but this came up on a search of local eateries. Not fancy, just great food and service. Brightly decorated for Valentine's Day.

Warmly greeted, brought waters and menus quickly. Fresh tortilla chips and some of the best homemade salsa we've ever had (we've had A LOT!). Ordered the El Pastor burrito to split (needed to stay awake for the drive). Sizable dish...juicy tender slices of marinated pork combined with beans and rice in a soft tortilla. Hit the spot!

If we drive this way again, we'll certainly visit again.

This is where we stop to pick up a lot of beans and rice and tortillas to take up to big bear with us. It's so good. Crack a Pacifico or a corona open while you wait. Best food in the area. We always stop and take some home with us back to LA. Secret youll get here and less car sick if you go up the backside to Big Bear and you hit this gem :)

We stopped here on our way home. We have passed it so many times and have always wanted to stop. It was a bit empty but it was a Tuesday, so I wasn't surprised. We walked in and were greeted right away, I think the bartender. A server walked over and took us right away to our table. Our server was friendly and very attentive. I really like the booths being tall so you have more privacy. You can't see the people in the next booth on either side of you. They start you off with a basket of chips and salsa. Now, the way you know if a place is going to be good, is by the salsa. I was pleasantly surprised at the home made taste. It was fresh and appetizing. My husband ordered the carne asada burrito deluxe with green sauce. He really enjoyed it and said everything tasted fresh and they did not skimp on the meat, he commented on the taste of the beans being home made and flavorful.
I ordered two carne asada a la carte tacos. I was surprised at the size, I thought they would be mini. They were delicious and I was very happy with what I ordered. We will be back and try other items.

And they charge you $5 for chips and salsa who does that? There kind of rude in there

Good food, full bar, and clean. The staff is friendly and personable. It's from walking distance from my house and my son and I have started to make it a monthly tradition.

Delicious food, Large portions and Rosie was a very kind server! I Highly recommend.

Don't ever dine alone, the pretty woman will take all your cash as the "tip" and charge everything on card! $50 meal turned into $90 because she took $40 as her "tip" never dining alone here again.

The items pictured were not what was ordered I ordered a Carne aada quesedilla, And a chilli Colorado burrito. And as you could see there's no meat in at quesadilla despite paying extra. And the Colorado burrito was nothing but a pile of wet meat. Among other items that were ordered because over a $115 was spent No sour cream was requested and was put anyway extra guacamole was paid for but not given.When I called to ask for a manager they told me Noone was there, when I asked for them to put whoever was in charge to be put on the phone they hung up. I called in my order and and they hung up on me 3 times, there is something wrong with this embarrassment no wonder they were shut down.
