A wonderful dessert boutique indeed! Not only is the ambiance so inviting with elegant decor, brightly lit space and tasteful touches, it is the ultra welcoming and warm reception you get when you talk to the owner Kisha and her beautiful daughter Jazmin. I spent the entire time, all about 1.5 hours just sharing anecdotes that span multitudes of topics from travel to macarons to kids/family to afternoon tea to miracles to strong and supportive friends and restaurants!
We all say we cross paths with people for a reason - for me, I found countless reasons! We exchanged ideas for travel, small businesses, etc. as it's quite evident Kisha is a warm soul with creative and forward thinking professional acumen. Such a breath of fresh air to have Hummingbird in Norfolk to enjoy!
I purchased 12 macarons, all were divine. And the caramel macchiato was good.

If there was ever a place that could anger you by having such delicious food, this would be it. I can't go here and not order practically everything. Between the macarons, various desserts, and combinations, it's just a whole lot of yum!

The location is kinda neat. You really need to go to the left and in the back to really appreciate the full scope of the facility. They have a really nice seating area that overall is very calming and nice. It's totally the type of place that you could totally see yourself chilling with a cup of coffee with some awesome desserts and taking a moment to relax.

Overall, I look forward to coming back and enjoying some heavenly desserts. Thank you!

Great location, nestled in the heart of Art District (Norfolk), this black-owned business provides exactly what you're looking for. Eclectic & clean ambiance, superb friendly service, and quality food/drinks.

I ended up getting the half dozen: I know k got the chocolate, salted caramel, hummingbird, and something else lol. Favorite was the chocolate. Least fav was the hummingbird - but that's personal preference. All of them were the perfect texture and taste... there was a long line when I arrived, indicated that there's been continued demand.

I had a brown sugar latte with almond milk - I believe it was a special for that day.

I pass this gem so often yet am never here during business hours

Today was my lucky day we were killing some time before visiting renova and popped in here for a quick peek

They have some of the most unique macaroon flavors like berry habanero and passionflower

We could not decide on just two so we got half a dozen when was just under 20$ they were delicious I feel the price is a little high but they are definitely top tier
The other desserts also looked very appealing and mouthwatering just beautiful
User beware when ordering coffee ask about the sizing. My friend ordered a macchiato and was very surprised to see it was served in an authentic tiny tea cup he pictured something a big bigger he did approve of the flavor and said it tasted good


I also loved the decor as well comfy chairs and gorgeous paintings on the wall as it is such a peaceful vibe

Hummingbird Macarons & Desserts is a local #Blackwomanownedbusiness in downtown Norfolk that is out here serving pure decadence in the form of mouthwatering desserts.

This place is absolutely delightful. Located in the beautiful neon district in Norfolk, this was my first visit and the macarons are literal perfection! The employees are very friendly and helpful as well. Beautifully decorated on the inside too. Such a cute place to sit and enjoy a treat or two. I was very happy to see all of their seating in the lounge area. This place is a must try. You will be hooked like me. Can't wait to go back soon.

I ordered the mini strawberry fraiser cake and the rosewater, sea salt caramel, hummingbird, and almond pistachio Macaron. All were amazing.

We never miss a chance to stop in while we are in downtown. The macaroons literally have me wrapped!! I just can't explain how much I love these macaroons! Also the Bee Bar, is just beyond amazing! I would literally eat one of those a day if I could! I love the lady who always takes care of us. I think she may be the owner, but not sure. She is always there and is always so sweet and kind. I can't recommend this dessert boutique enough. It's super cute and just such a wonder addition to Norfolk.

Lovely little dessert cafe with wonderful decor, incredible staff (Jasmine is awesome!) and delicious treats! I was sad to learn upon arrival that they have more baked goods only on the weekends (they only do ice cream sandwich macarons and regular macarons on weekdays). I had the blueberry green tea which was not very potent for the pot in came in, but still had nice flavor. I would absolutely return!

There are a lot of shops and cottage bakeries emerging in Coastal Virginia riding the current wave of the macaron craze, but Hummingbird sets themselves apart from the rest. They specialize in the little French mini sandwiches of love, but they should equally be praised for the other desserts that they offer.

First, let's talk about the macarons, or as I like to refer to them as macs because people commonly confuse them for "macaroons" here in the US. I personally am very mindful of the difference because I don't care for the "macaroon" at all, that are made into large clusters of coconut flakes that I really don't care for.

At Hummingbird, you will notice that they are slightly smaller than the macs that you find at other shops, but the flavors they come up with are so unique! They are usually made in vibrant colors, painted with brush strokes and/or rolled in fancy sprinkles. You are truly indulging a work of art! There are flavors like dark cherry and truffle or my most recent discovery, apple yuzu! O. M. G. This is my new fave! They have their signature Hummingbird mac and it tastes just as delightful as it looks! My kids love the birthday cake of which they have a chocolate version, Nutella and caramel. I also had the dirty chai and that one was great too!

As for the other desserts, don't sleep on those either. They have some of the best chocolate chip cookies (they also have a vegan version, or maybe it IS the only version) and we recently tried their snickerdoodle cookie. Yum yum! My personal fave is the banoffee tart. Combo of banana and coffee with decadent chocolate. UGH, now I want one just writing this.

We recently stopped in as they were one of the participants for the Hot Cocoa Wars that has been running in Norfolk every November. They made a gingerbread version of the hot chocolate and topped it with whipped cream and gingerbread cookie crumbs. Definitely one of the top contenders!

The shop is located in the Neon District in Norfolk, in an industrial building. Their kitchen takes up most of the space and you can look into it from a distance from the retail side. The retail store front allows lots of space for gathering in small groups. It's beautifully decorated with the iconic hummingbird painted on the main wall. Recently, they have changed the layout of the shop, adding more seating to give it more of a coffee shop vibe. The shop gets lots of natural lighting and the ceilings are high, so it makes it very inviting.

They serve coffee too, so you have something to sip on in between bites. The owner here is definitely not the new kid on the block, but she definitely keeps the new kids on their A-game.

So, its always a great experience when you return to one of your favorite places and the customer service and product is consistently, AWESOME.

I'm quite proud of Hummingbird as it has delicious choices and the plant based options are so enjoyable. The aesthetic is still evolving yet the current decor has a simple and warm feel.

I so wish they shipped because I want to share this female owned small business with family and friends!

Hands down the best macarons in the 757. I don't know what it is, but each time you eat one it's like biting into happiness. My favorite flavors are biscoff, Nutella, vanilla birthday and red velvet (seasonal flavor). You can definitely taste the advertised flavor in each macaron. The inside is so soft and chewy while the outside has a perfect shell.

The employees are always so sweet when I go. The place is cute and vintage looking. There isn't a parking lot, but street parking in front. They also have so many unique flavors which are really cool. If you're not into macarons, they also offer many beautiful desserts. In the summer time, they have macaron ice cream sandwiches which are massive and yummy.
