I personally love this theater. Perhaps it's because I have fond memories of coming here as a teen, but mostly because this place is never busy.

There are no long lines, no full theaters where you have to fight for a seat, things are not ridiculously overpriced and there is always plenty of parking.

If you are looking for a fancy theater with lots of extras like reclining seats and booze then you will need to go elsewhere. If you want a classic theater with an old school feel...you will love this place, chintzy carpet and all!

Previous good experiences. Old school movie theatre - no selecting seats in advance, no recliners. For a small town it gets the job done. However on one of the biggest release dates that movies theaters have had in a while they were not prepared AT ALL. Barbie and Oppenheimer opened and they had such long ticket and concession lines. They had no popcorn and let tons of people wait in 10min+ lines to tell them rather than making a sign or an announcement. The lady at the ticket booth was nice and offered refunds to many when they complained about no refreshments. Not a good look if they can't staff appropriately and can't keep refreshments in stock on a planned busy day with 2 major releases...

This movie theater is ridiculous I was trying to buy a ticket to a rated R movie and on the tacky website for the theater says "17 years or older can go to rated R movies" and we were verbally harassed by a hag at the front door saying we couldn't go in without a 21 year old. this theater is a scam and that women needs to be terminated effective immediately

We went to an afternoon movie on a weekday (January 2018).
The skeleton crew apparently didn't care that the place was filthy!! Main floors were a mess with dirt and food trash, the bathroom trash was overflowing
and sinks were a mess with water and trash.
It was so dirty, I decided I would never go back!

First time visiting this theater. Super clean, great sound and picture quality. Comfortable seats. Highly recommend seeing a movie here if you're in the Lakes Region area.

Great theater in the Lakes Region.

You know what is a great idea? How about listing the movies on the marquee outside. It's been years and they still haven't been able to put anything on that sign. Drive by and see a lot of cars? You wonder what are they showing? Well you have to google it , easier if they post it on the sign out front.

I went down to Gilford Cinema 8 to see the movie skyscraper. At the counter the staff was very pleasant and friendly. I got my popcorn and drink and went down to the viewing room. The theater was very nice and the seating was soft and comfortable. The lights going down the isle is a very cool touch as most of the movie theaters I go to don't have this feature. My soda was cool and fizzy. My popcorn could've been better as it was just OK. After the movie I walked out and checked out the arcade section of the theater. The games are pretty old and it's kind of small for my taste. But overall I had a good movie experience and I would recommend this place a try if your looking for a theater to go to. I know I will be heading there again soon.

For anybody in the lakes region, drive to Tilton and go to Smitty's- skip this dump.
First of all, the facilities , even though just renovated, are outdated and never cleaned. The arcade games in the lobby are very old and need replacement. Second

I've seen movies from theaters up and down the East Coast, from Orlando to New Hampshire, and most of all, Gilford Cinema 8 is my favorite. There's always a friendly face, the theatre is clean, feels safe, and the renovations are more comfortable than ever to view a feature film with family and friends.

Love this movie theatre - no complaints before renovation, certainly none after. Easy in, easy out, great concessions and smaller theaters... great!
