House of Cupcakes

I don't visit this area too often and didn't notice the shops in this strip area until recent and I couldn't help myself and had to roll into this bakery shop. Nope, I don't regret on failing my diet either.

I ordered their pistachio, red velvet, peanut butter, Oreo, chocolate, coconut cupcakes. Instead of eating all, I sliced it into samples and shared with the family. My favorite is the pistachio, only because my love for pistachio itself but all cupcakes are good and moist.

Definitely coming back here again!

Took my niece here for her birthday cupcake. She ordered the strawberry shortcake cupcake. She really liked it. I didn't get the chance to try it because she scared it down, lol. Based on her reaction, it's safe to say that their cupcakes aren't that bad.

I wasn't a big fan of the service here. The people seemed like they just wanted us to get in and get out. I felt like they could've been more welcoming and nicer. They didn't even acknowledge my niece.

The vibe here isn't really anything special. Would I come back here again? Probably not. You guys can check it out and see for yourself. Maybe I came on the wrong day.

My expectations and hopes for this place have plummeted completely after today.

I started buying from House of Cupcakes in East Brunswick since 2019. Personally, service here is only good when the owner/manager is around, she's super sweet to talk to. Otherwise, similar to the rest of the reviews under, the employees make you feel rushed or just want to "get you in and get you out." They don't have the nicest or welcoming tones when greeting or serving you. However I still came to this place once every 2 months because the cupcakes are good.

Since I had such high regards for the place and their cupcakes since they won Cupcake Wars. (if you're familiar with the old show) So today, I decided to pre-order some cupcakes for my mother's 47th birthday. Mind you, I've only ever ordered in-store and never ordered anything through the phone. So it was my first time ordering something beforehand.

Now going back to the service, this is what turned me off, the lady on the phone was passive aggressive and had an attitude with me. Other than that, she was patient with me, however when I asked if they were able to do certain designs, she responded to me as if I were stupid, kind of condescending. When i was completely patient and polite, when ordering. They made "vanilla frosting on chocolate cupcakes" sound like it was incapable for them.

I didn't think much of this encounter. UNTIL, when I picked up my cupcakes the lady at the counter was mean and passive aggressive. Then I look at my cupcakes at home, they came packed all fucked up. A majority of the cupcakes were tilted and the frosting was smushed by the walls of the plastic container. On top of that, I requested happy birthday cupcake signs, which failed to make an appearance for some reason.

And I paid 39 bucks for 12 fucked up cupcakes. You could get a 3x4 pull-apart cake from Wegmans for 32 bucks, which I should've done.

Really disappointed with this HOC, this place used to be my go-to cupcake shop. But when I look at their rating, I should've known better. If you're going to order on the phone, or order in store, make sure to ask them not to fuck up your order.

Delicious cupcakes! Dulce de leche was definitely wayyy to sweet for me but the other flavors were amazing. The cupcakes were also a good size. Would definitely come back when I'm having cupcake cravings

Came in to grab some last minute birthday cupcakes for a friend. The store was empty, and the employee let me know she'd be with me shortly. I have been to other House of Cupcakes locations before, so I was going her for the reliability of solid cupcakes with a lot of flavor variety.

I went for a half dozen. The employee helped me identify any flavors that weren't visibly clear. I chose varieties of what looked appealing/what my friend would enjoy.

Overall, this experience was solid. It didn't blow me out of this world, but the service was good and the product was the usual decadent cupcake I expect from here. I'd go back here gain for some decent dessert for this area of Jersey.

*Buyer Beware when ordering online*
I ordered a pull apart cake from the East Brunswick location. I was told to upload and email the logo I wanted on the cake. I did so. Then I decided I wanted to change it. I called to ask if I could and I was told yes that I had enough time to make the change. I sent the second one via email that said please discard the first pic use this one.

On the day of pickup, they did not change the logo from the first to the second. When it was brought to their attention, the staff was accusatory. I had to show proof of said emails. No one wanted to take responsibility for the error and no apology.
The manager was not in the store and when called, did not pick up and her voicemail box was full. I was given an IOU for a discount which I have not yet received. I ended up having to take the cake because they said no one was there to fix it and my party was to begin in an hour.

I emailed the store the next day, I called and left a message. Still I have yet to receive a call back. The cake was ordered 7/10; pick up was 7/16. I emailed 7/17, I called 7/21 manager was not in the building, called and left a message on 7/24. Today is 7/27 and nothing.

This is very disappointing to say the least.
Customer service and customer satisfaction should be top priority. Almost two weeks and no response. It's a shame because my guests raved about their cupcakes. Although I like their cupcakes, I will no longer patronize their establishment.

This place can take my money anytime.....

Love the selection,love the service but above all I love the chocolate dipped macaroon

I always grab house of cupcakes when I have a birthday in my family. We all love them - the Oreo cupcake in particular is everyone's favorite. I also love that they have pupcakes for my dog!

Anyone that knows me knows I love sweets so I had to try this place. They are located in a plaza so I parked in the plaza parking lot. They were quite busy when I walked in but they got to me fairly quick. The young man that served me was quick and to the point. I seen that the cupcakes were $2.25 each so I got 3. I ordered the lemon burst, vanilla chocolate, and bookie (brownie/cookie). It came to a little over $7. I paid with credit card and left.

When I got to my friend's house we tried all 3. My favorite was the vanilla chocolate followed by lemon burst. They were so soft and melted in your mouth. I didn't like the bookie one too much because it was kind of dry. I will definitely be back to try more. FYI: they have a couple of vegan options.

don't let all the glitter fool you, bought a 6 pack nothing different from grocery store cupcakes. 3 out of the 6 were hard. Maybe I just got a bad 6.
