I recently went to Hoshun late on a Thursday evening with some friends after a work event. It was very busy so we were quickly seated and greeted by our waitress Shannon. She was fun and upbeat.
My appetite wasn't huge so I shared Dragon roll and hot and sour soup with my friend. He ended up ordering the sashimi salad as well. Everything tasted great. We were there longer than expected and basically closed the restaurant but no one kicked us out.
Overall decent dining experience. I could see myself here for late night eats again.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Patrick O.Medford, MA0563Feb 8, 2024
Claims to do delivery, but "doesn't take phone orders".
They should say this in their listing and not waste our timeHelpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Stephanie S.Pineville, LA31552Nov 15, 2023

It's a nice cozy place for dinner, with good food and drinks option.
The service was quick and efficient and our server was very kind and attentive.
We had the lychee sake and plum sake bottles, and lychee came out on top taste and flavor wise.
The appetizers were nice and on point. We tried egg rolls, seafood rolls, j-pop.
The fried rice was well made and spicy per request.
Overall a good place for a relaxed dinnerHelpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - 19172636Sep 19, 2023
We tried to go the taco place across the street and it was waaay too busy so we popped in here instead. The spicy edamame was my favorite part of the meal. I had a sushi box with salmon and it was like eating a sushi sandwich. Overall not my favorite meal.

I came for the sushi, I stayed for the sake. The food is amazing, fresh and speedy. The service is the best. Servers are super attentive and the glass never goes half full (stay +).
The ambiance is very casual/dressy. Laid back enough to watch a basketball game but fancy enough to bring a date. Sushi is very nice and the warm sake is the best for Christmas time.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Brandon W.Washington, DC061Apr 21, 2024
16 dollars for chicken and it doesn't come with rice? No chopsticks or sauces or anything else with our takeout order? Am I crazy to think that's absurd? Sigh, what's going on anymore, why does anyone bother ordering out anymore?

Reasons why place deserves 5 stars
1. Despite it being 10PM the host and server were more than delighted to make sure we felt welcomed in their restaurant.
2. Our server Tien greeted us quickly and with a drive to make sure we got our drinks and food at a timely manner.
3. The food tasted amazing, to start if we began with a superdome, and their steamed dumplings which took us by surprise. Our entrees consisted of their noodles and Kung Pao which were more than generously portioned.
4. The environment was clean and provided an authentic feel to the restaurants vibe, the decore never felt out of place and the booth we sat at was comfortable.
As a tourist from Nashville I'd definitely come here again before my vacation is over! Thank you!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1 - Spencer L.New Orleans, LA05Jan 25, 2024
The waitress was incredible and the ambience was cozy, but the food was AWFUL. This is the 2nd time my partner and I have eaten here, the 1st time was take-out and it made us sick. I blamed it on it being delivery and wanted to try again, I really wanted to like this place. I'm a sushi fanatic, it's open late night, and it's close to where I live, but dish after dish I was disappointed. My partner and I got Kung Pao shrimp and a few different sushi rolls (both raw and not). All the seafood tasted dirty and the fried rice tasted like it had been left out all day. It's the worst sushi I've ever had in New Orleans, you couldn't pay me to come back here.
