Horizon Funeral Home

The Horizon Funeral Home under the direction of Mr. Johnny Johnson provided excellent service on the recent passing of my 94 yr old aunt. His professionalism and caring manner ministered to my family during a time of great sadness. Mr. Johnson is a master at his profession having been a head mortician for the U.S. Government. I highly recommend his services.

I wouldn't recommend this funeral home under any circumstances at all. "Johnny" was extremely unprofessional, rude, and downright disrespectful to my family during a very somber, difficult time. He told someone "I will not argue with you, but I will put you in your place", when the fiancé of the deceased simply asked if there were 75 programs (it didn't appear as though there were). He also slammed them down in the window cil and counter each and everyone with an attitude. The programs were all wrong, they printed off the template and the date was wrong and a whole paragraph was missing from the obituary. They did go to staples minutes before the service started and got the correct ones printed. Johnny was very unprofessional throughout the entire experience. The funeral home had two window until air conditioners running on high the entire time. Multiple people complained that it was freezing inside and nothing was done. Only two staff members were ever available, one of which was Johnny. At the burial, the chairs and chair covers were soaking wet and nothing was there to dry them. Everyone had to stand. Johnny stood in front row right in front of the immediate family to the point where they couldn't see the pastor or the urn. He handed the urn and necklace to the fiancé of the deceased by pulling it out of his pocket and saying "here ya go". No comforting or consoling once so ever. When she initially asked him if he had her urn, he said "nah..." and smirked. Then grabbed out of his pocket and gave to her. Just rude. This whole experience is like no funeral I've ever experienced. If there was a way to give a negative star, I would.
I wouldn't recommend this "establishment" to anyone.

The Horizon family performed funeral services for my family on two occasions within an eight month span. Mr. Johnson took the stress out of planning the funerals. He handled the affairs with extreme professionalism making the process stress free.

I took the opportunity to compare My comparison included a complete funeral package including the use of his facilities to hold the service. Dollar for dollar, the fees were comparable. However, the personal touches and the additional services Horizon offers that the other's do not make Horizon's the better choice.

To sum up, Mr. Johnson and the staff at Horizon offers quality services that blow his competitors out of the water. Other funeral homes in the area cannot be compared to Horizon.

I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY! 0 STARS WOULD BE WHAT I GIVE MR. JOHNSON! It makes me sick to my stomach to think about how he treated my family. He showed up to take the body late and was acting very crazy and energetic... it was a somber time and he made everyone very anxious. He was EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL! As he took our family members body away he bounced loudly down each stair making everyone much more upset. He was TOTALLY UNRELIABLE never calling or showing up when he told us he would! It has been more than 2 weeks and we still do not have the ashes back that he told us would take less than a week! On multiple occasions he told us when he would come by our home and left us waiting for hours until we call and he gives us a million different excuses! I am totally disgusted by Mr Johnson and the experience we have had with him! If you have any respect for your loved ones I wouldnt even consider using Horizon Funeral Home.
