Have had a couple of small jobs done here. Extremely satisfied. They don't try to upsell me on anything and both occasions, they finished the work earlier than they said they would. The shop is so clean, you could eat your lunch off the floor! Rocky and his team do a terrific job

I can't thank this auto repair shop enough for their top-notch A/C repair service. With summer approaching, my A/C system was blowing hot air, and I couldn't bear the heat. The skilled technicians here quickly diagnosed the issue and fixed it with precision. Now, my car's A/C is like an arctic breeze on wheels. The quality of their repair work is second to none, and what's even better is the outstanding value I received. Their prices are more than reasonable for the excellent service they provide. I highly recommend them for any auto repair needs!

My right wiper started malfunctioning. A storm was coming thenfollowing day. They fit me in within minutes and figured it out the bolt just needed to be tightened. Didn't even charge.

Holland Care Care is the only shop I trust with my car. They are always transparent and reliable and never upsell you on anything. They are the best shop to ask questions and get an honest, trustworthy answer. Their work is always well done and I have never had any issues with any of their work they performed on my car. I had been taking my Subaru to the dealer for normal maintenance but the 30k mile was coming up and they quoted 600-700$. I had been looking for a mechanic and this was the time. Jason was great, got in the next morning, had a quote by the time I got home, and maintenance done within 2 hours, $220.00. Definitely my new mechanic!

Horror on the highway !
I just got my BMW 535i back on Tuesday, June 16, 2020, after getting a full inspection, the air conditioner fixed ($237), and the oil changed ($282) for about $520 total, by Holland Car Care. The next time I took my car out on Friday, June 19, 2020, my BMW broke down on the 280 highway, overheating without any warning - the engine just stopped. It was terrifying waiting there for the tow truck with traffic flying by - I could have easily had an accident.
When I brought my car to Holland Car Care the first time, the only thing wrong was with the air conditioner - it didn't cool the car enough. Everything else was fine. After my car broke down, the tow truck brought it back to Holland Car Care and the service told me that the water pump was broken, even though they had just performed a full inspection and found nothing.
How could it be that it had worked fine before I had initially brought the car in for service and it failed immediately after? What are the odds of such a coincidence? How could they not notice this when they had inspected my car?
When asked, service manager, Jason Coogler, refused to accept responsibility for this negligence and proceeded to charge me $1,762.66 for the new water pump.
Whether they were negligent or malicious, their irresponsibility was directly responsible for nearly getting me into a terrible accident. I think women are a soft target at this place and I will not trust these mechanics again. The not so good: Got my thermostat casing replaced on my Mini Cooper there last February before I moved to the east bay. Have had to take it in three times already for warranty on that part, and it's leaking coolant around that part again. They seem either nonchalant or unwilling to take responsibility for this, and have so far blamed my regular mechanic once and this time told me that this part gets warrantied a lot. If you need to warranty a repair you did four times within eight months and are trying to normalize it, I'm reaaaaal glad you aren't my doctor. Checked with my regular mechanic who told me they do not have this issue with the same repair. My trust is broken and I'm frustratingly getting ready to pay for someone else to do it right and not keep wasting my time or risk seriously overheating my engine.

I started going to Holland years ago, when Shawn was still at the downtown location. I always felt like I was getting honest advice. They weren't pushing extra services or unnecessary part replacements.
When they opened the San Carlos shop I started going there, still having the same great service. They were able to fix most issues on the first try. Occasionally something would take a couple visits, but that's the nature of troubleshooting.
Recently we moved to Northern San Mateo, so I started going back to the downtown shop (where David does customer service). It's still the exact same experience I had in the beginning. They don't nickel & dime for small stuff. If it's some cheap part or quick couple minutes of labor, they often do it for free.
My wife also takes her car to Holland, going the extra distance to San Carlos because she's so comfortable working with Shawn.
