      This review is specifically in regards to sales of a John Deere mower. I have not had to deal with service or any other aspects of the business yet and will update this if anything changes.

      I had a great experience purchasing my John Deere from Hickory Home & Garden. I was originally looking to buy at one of the big box hardware stores, but I would rather support a local business and also they have the machines in stock where I could physically go and see them.

      I was helped pretty much as soon as I came in. They had the model I was looking for in the back as it had just come in and they let me go back there and take a look. After browsing a bit and comparing models I went ahead with the purchase. They scheduled a delivery for like the next day and the delivery went great. The machine show up clean, prepped and ready to go!

      Nothing but a good experience so far with Hickory Home & Garden Center and I hope it continues when I eventually come in for service.

      Real bad service here don't go here look somewhere else workers just standing around talking don't help customers please don't even bother to call they will keep you on hold for the rest of your life I waited 45mins on hold to ask if my part was there and I drove there was still on hold and got there they never picked up and did not have my part

      The Parts Department is excellent! I just take a picture on my phone to ensure I have the correct model and serial number. It speeds up the process for them which speeds the process up for me. Sometimes I take the part in I need to replace but I always have the serial and model numbers!

      Dad bought a Cub Cadet GT2550 from them in 2009. Though, I will never own another for many reasons, I am always able to get what I need from them. I will go back to John Deere - much easier to work on! I have noticed they don't have as many CC on the floor, but a lot for the service dept to work on!

      The folks are very courteous as well as knowledgeable. They have no negative comments because I am female which is a nice plus. I've also noticed for the customers (even professionals) that come in without model and serial numbers, they have the patience of saints when they continuously explain they have to know the model and serial number to ensure the correct part

      This is a local John Deere Distributor. If you bought your John Deere here they'll be glad to help you. If you bought it somewhere else don't bother even stepping foot in this place.

      We own a dealership down the road from this place and have always used them for any landscaping or supplies we have needed. They also cut chip keys for a good price so we send every customer that asks about an extra key to them. I went in there today driving one of our vehicles and while I was in the store shopping, the employees were being nasty towards our cars and our business. They kept going on and on. I was just blown away after all the business we've done with them and the level of respect we have always givin this local business, that they would be so carefree about how they perceive our business, and in front of other people (potentially people considering buying a car from us). We will never do business or send people their way again.

      Used to be a great place to buy parts for my John Deere but it seems like they don't care they don't know that manuel's they don't even know what parts are called sold me the wrong part had to come back and exchange it for the right part they gave me a big 5% off for driving 50 miles a whopping dollar 50 don't believe I'll be using them again

      Could not figure out to get the head on an old weed eater I had. Went it just to ask a few questions. The owner ended up changing the heads out for free. I also bought a gas can while I was there. Could not believe how cheap their prices were. But the same gas can at Lowes four months prior for 27.00.... It was 14.00 at HHG. The opener was incredibly friendly and help, his son was also. This will be my new go to hardware store. Lowes is a joke.

      I can't believe this store Hickory Home and Garden charges a 20% restock fee on returned items. MY friend (Michael Throneburg) who is disabled and on a fixed income bought some pipes and things to move a monitor heater. When he had it moved he did not need the things so he returned them, the store charged him 20% thats is he paid 121.11 and he got back 96.00 that's 25.00+. Mind you these things had not been touched, they were exactly the same as when they were purchased. Unbelievable!!!! Of course he won't be returning along with myself and others.. Not to mention this is the highest priced hardware around..

      Service department is very unprofessional. Have sent my riding mower there for service at least once a year for the past 4 years for repairs and each time it's taken twice as long for them to get the job done than they originally stated. The most recent time I was told they were back logged 2 weeks and it's now going on 6 weeks and I haven't got my mower back yet. Called to check on 5/24/13 to see if it was finished and was told the deck wouldn't raise up or down which it was working fine when they picked it up, now they're wanting to fix it with used parts for something they broke. Also the person I spoke with in service when checked on it used inappropriate language when making remarks about used equipment saying that "anything over 15 years old is a pain in the a** and if it was up to him they wouldn't work on anything over 15 years old because it's nothing but junk." This is not the kind of threatment a professional organization should be giving the people that provided them with a job and a py check. This is the last time they will ever have a opportunity to work on my equipment and the day I need a new mower Hickory Home & Garden will not be on my list of place's to shop for anything.
