We did not have a great start to our long weekend trip up to the North Shore. Our car got hit by flying debris from a truck hauling poorly secured who-knows-what (we've since learned that the technical term for stuff flying off a trailer is "leaking load," and you should always call State Highway Patrol when you witness a "leaking load." So now we know). It was a heck of a scramble trying to figure everything out on the side of I-35!
The frustration was greatly relieved when we learned that Hertz was not only open, but had a fun car available! The cost of renting the Mustang convertible was pretty high, TBH, but all things considered, it was totally worth it.
Everything went smoothly with our car rental. Staff were friendly and helpful, and we had no problems with the vehicle itself.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Lori H.Knollwood, Kalamazoo, MI292Aug 18, 2019
If you want your credit card charged double as an authorization, to be refunded the overcharge in a few days, then this is your place. And they wouldn't let me use my husband's card, saying I could have it charged when I returned the car, but no one was at the counter when I returned the car. My card was charged $364 after I agreed to the insurance and the charge to not refill. I had it overnight, returned it in perfect condition, less than 100 miles on it and barely below full. $364, but my card will be credited in a few days for the actual charge of $169. Never again. Lesson learned.

This is a double neg review for MSP Hertz - got a rental car in MSP and when I got to Duluth the oil level was low, ran out of oil. I was hoping (like when something similar happened at Enterprise in AZ) they would just give me the keys to a new car and be on my way - but no - the dude at the airport counter who was sitting doing nothing told me he had to cancel my contract and initiate 2 one way contracts and MSP would sort it when I returned there. Suffice to say got the new car and when I got to MSP no one had any records of my rental - so I paid more than the original rental fee and the most frustrating thing was the lack of communication or care on either side. Used to rent 60-100 days a year with Hertz, now its ZERO!

NEVER USE HERTZ AGAIN!
I will never use Hertz rental again! We ended up with a flat tire in the middle of nowhere Montana, initially called for a tow truck as we were having problems getting the jack out to change the tire. Called back the emergency service back within 5 minutes, but since we were on hold for 11 minutes, they claim we were outside the 5 minute window to cancel the tow with no charge. They claim they would have been able to have a tow truck to us within 60 minutes, but how is that physically possible when Billings was 180 miles away and Bismark was 200 miles away and it was a Sunday evening. This entire situation was a nightmare and NEVER NEVER NEVER will I use Hertz again!!!!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - G. R.Chicago, IL012Jul 21, 2014First to Review
Beware!!
This is a Hertz Licensee and not the corporate Hertz so they are not obligated to treat you with courtesy and respect. The manager personally insured that I would not get an emergency rental. Very poor customer service and lack of consideration. Because of the above mentioned I am driving a damaged Hertz vehicle from Duluth to the twin cities.
