Herman's Bakery & Deli

Ordered cinnamon rolls here for a church function and they were delicious. They are more of a square pan cinnamon roll than I was used to but that didn't change the delicious treat. I also have to rave about their signature apple fritters! I consider myself an authority on them and these are amazing! If you are in the north and need a sweet before noon stop here in Cambridge it's well worth it

I ordered a few dozen cream filled donuts for my employees, and the day I went by to pick them up there were several signs out front that made parking confusing. As I was trying to figure out where I could park legally, some old codger came out screaming at me. "You can't park like that jerk! Move your car so others can park!"

I did move my car; right out on the road to another bakery. 2 weeks later, they mailed me a bill for donuts that I never picked up. Not the way to do business, especially in a small town.

So my first issue with this place, is they don't do bakers dozen orders at all. Even if you're making a custom order apparently.

The almond pastries were burnt on the inside and the turnover has almost no filling.

Can't say I was impressed by the snacks I got.

​The low quality of the pastries I bought from what I reasoned out comes from their open hours. They have a very short open time. At least compared to most bakeries.

I'm estimating here but I think they try to skimp on the work it takes to run a successful bakery.

Only being open eight hours a day, means jamming a lot of baking into an even shorter window.

The bakery in the town I used to live in started their baking at midnight finished by 3 am or so and opened at 7:30 and closed at six pm.

So maybe my experiences are raising my expectations for quality.

All I can really say is that Herman's feels like they rush their baking process to churn out subpar sweets.

I am going to look for a better bakery to patron. Because this was a massive disappointment.

Excellent bakery items. Very friendly staff a definite positive for this community. When you enter, you are treated like family, which is awesome in this day and age.

The ladies are so nice. I usually go when they open in the morning for hot, fresh apple fritters. They are the best. Can't say enough nice things about this bakery.

Best bakery in Isanti county. Open early for early birds. I highly recommend the Carmel rolls. They also have sandwiches and other goodies for sit down with coffee.

If you want delicious breakfast treats, fresh bread and amazing coffee come here!!!! My parents children my husband and myself came in about 9am Monday morning as we were traveling and everything was great! Staff was so helpful and kind! They were able to get us bread from the freezer to buy and take home! We got the cranberry walnut bread and it was to die for! I'm not huge on cranberries but it was so delicious!!! I also had coffee and a lemon filled powder sugar donut which I will definitely come back for! Highly recommended!!!

You can stop in here and enjoy breakfast with the locals, or you can wait in line (as the place is popular) and pick up your favorite bakery items: cookies, made-to-order and decorated cakes, pastries, donuts, and more. There's also a little gift section with an assortment of mugs and other gift items.

Best of all, the service is friendly. Stop in for a decorated cookie or a long john. You won't be disappointed. Just leave a glazed croissant for me!

I think this is every kid in town's favorite place for breakfast. I noticed a few chomping on donuts and long johns with lots of frosting. I also noticed they were with dad only. By 8:30 they sold the last bismark and plain donut to the guy ahead of me. We were stocking up on things for home. White bread, blueberry muffins, chocolate cupcakes, date cookies. This place is huge and having worked in a kitchen for half my career, I was impressed how organized the clean up was. Everything separated in its own pan even a bucket for liquids. Nice art on the hallway walls. Very nice place to hang out.
