I just visited the flagship Hermès Madison Ave store.
I met Lee SA and she was so amazing!!
She was so kind ,careful and she spend her time to find items what I was looking for.
I know she was very busy but she made me feel like I'm the only customer in that store at that time.
I had a most wonderful experience and can not wait to see her again soon!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 924303603Jun 3, 2023
This store is Amazing! It's the closest you're going to get to the iconic store in Paris. It's consider the flagship store in the US. I am amazed at how great service is here. You walk in and everyone is greeting you. Wish we could get an ounce of this service in the DC store.
My SA who is now my forever go to person was just the sweetest. I was able to get the cypree sandals in light blue that had just arrived. They are difficult to get it. I had no idea about sizing and she immediately told me (without trying them on) go a half size up.
I took a tour of the garden and sat at the bar with a glass of mimosa. Definitely now my go to place in the US.
*Best to go on Monday-Wed (less crowded) before 2pm.Helpful 7Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Anon B.New York, NY83Jan 27, 2024
Awful, degrading and disappointingI I was treated like I did not belong there. I made a purchase but the experience left me upset.
The salesperson was rude, did not smile and seemed annoyed. I am not sure what the issue was but I will never return to the Madison Avenue store again.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Albert K.New York, NY654119622824Mar 4, 2023
Hermes is still open - or just reopened?
Overall, staff are courteous and respectful. Even though their stock is very limited, and for new buyers they know you have to build history, the staff are still giving you the time of day to help, even when demand is off the charts.
They offered water, coffee, and a pastry. Quick to service, and quick to checkout. Looking forward to doing business here.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - A A.New York, NY513030Jul 23, 2023
Lee is fantastic! I was scared to go in. So glad I finally found Hermes Sales Specialist that I like. Edgar on Wall Street was diamond in the rough that retired. Lee has been at the flagship location for very long time and deserves a raise. I hope Lee never retires.

Where: 4th floor.
Experience: laughable
Who: 1 male staff and 2 female SA
Review: Egos so big you'd think they were exclusive buyers themselves. From uncensored facial expressions to audacity of outward judgement (isn't that illegal here). Paraphrasing a translation: "it's like she squatted down and took a shit on the brand itself". God bless American service.
Takeaway: Go Paris, Shanghai, Hong Kong to shop-- superior experience, knowledge of who's who, and mgmt. Prob why Asia sales is obliterating NA.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Dustin C.Jersey City, NJ13041Jul 26, 2023
The worst customer service experience ever. I literally waited on the second floor with a friend to try on a pair of sandals I was wanting to purchase for 25 minutes with no help from the staff. It was midday and wasn't busy. Several associates conversing and laughing and walking around. Someone from hospitality approached me and offering me water or coffee but wasn't able to assist me. He even tried to get help for me but no one was assisting customers. I walked out without purchasing. Such a shame.

I was SO EXCITED to purchase my first Hermès bangle and am happy with the product, but unfortunately I walked out of the Madison Ave store with a bad taste in my mouth. I'm a sucker for customer service. One would think customer service would be top notch in a luxury store such as this. Meh. I was in the store for about 10 mins max. That included the time it took for the security guard to greet me and send a sales rep over.
Jesus came over with a very lukewarm greeting, proceeded to pull out the bangle I was interested in, and just handed it over. I had to ask him to open it. That should've been the first red flag. I've purchased pieces of jewelry from other stores and sales reps have been kind enough to help. In fact, it's not that simple opening a Hermès bangle unless you know what you're doing.
He also took out another bangle that I actually liked so much that I was contemplating which of the two to get. Guess I was taking up too much of his time. He literally took his phone out and started checking the weather and who knows what else. Seriously?!?? When did it become ok for a sales rep to be on their phones while assisting a customer? Better yet, while on the sales floor?!?
I ended up purchasing the bangle because I really liked it, but doubt I'll revisit that store. It's really unfortunate to be spending upwards of $800 on a piece of jewelry and feeling like I was wasting the sales reps time when in fact he's being paid to be there and I was in and out of the store within 10 minutes.Helpful 9Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 1 - Henry F.New York, NY121105109Oct 22, 2021Updated review
Who doesn't love the experience that Hermes offers you, a luxury brand that just screams expensive. Who could forget that incredible orange color bags and boxes!
From home good to leather good, everyone loves Hermes of course due to the pandemic not lots of stock. But that's everywhere so don't be mean to your sales associate if you get a repeated we don't have it. They really don't have it.
The fine jewelry here is heaven, on special occasions i would say you can get someone anything from Hermes from a CDC alligator bracelet, Evelyne TPM bag or a cute little Twilly scarf. But fine jewelry always makes the biggest smiles.
Hermes is not only the best in leather goods but they help you out if there's any issues with your items, the repair service is super easy up on the 3rd floor i believe.
If your ever in need of a cute bag or gift ask for Nissa in home goods she helped me today and was such a joy! It's great to have that customer service again especially after this pandemic situation. Enjoy your life splurge a little and just be nice to everyone.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0Mar 1, 2021Previous reviewAmazing. Nothing ore to say. Jun 14, 2019Previous reviewWhere to start.. this place has completely changed! It's been awhile since I've had a sales associate at the store, i feel every time i get one they get fired. They change out the employees at least every 1-2 years, only ones still there are some of the originals who have clients from the 1990's.
When i did shop here i would be in the store at least twice a week, always buying something. Embarrassingly spent way to much money on this place. Before i would always walk out the store with a limited piece or obviously a Birkin or a Kelly.
How the times have changed, you can't get any employee to assist you or they are currently with a client so you basically have to wait an hour plus. Just to buy something that's on display not in the back. They want you to "Build" a relationship with the sales associates so they can know what you really want?!?
They have this code i guess you can say, where what your looking for we don't have but I'll keep an eye out on it. Keep in mind these sales associates have clients that spend 300k a year so of course they are offering things to them first. They also need to get approval from the floor manager if they can sell you certain items, because again possibly a customer who spends more will want it.
The last straw for me was when i got my special order Birkin and which normally they say you need to wait a good year and half, not only did a good friend and my associate say my bag came 3 months after i had sent in my request, they wouldn't release it to me for 6 months as i "reached" by Birkin quota? They said my profile looks "leather heavy" which means i been only buying 14,000 $$ bags and not a 200 $$ spoons.
They come off as this top luxury place where it's hard to get something, trust me there is always a Birkin or kelly in the back to waiting for the client to walk in that just got back from their trip. Another thing i always see the employees on Grindr or Tinder which is so unprofessional they should be updating things reaching out to clients, not looking for hook ups in the area.
PS: everyone knows those clients that buy spoons, shoes and scarfs are offered Birkin's so they can go back to China etc to reseal them for a profit, that's what they really should "look into" and start screening people.
I do as well have save text massages from both my sources Incase the store or any other reviewers would like to see.Apr 19, 2017Previous reviewBy far always a pleasure to look around in Hermes who doesn't want their whole house covered with wallpaper and leather goods from the one and only. Every time I head into Hermes I know I'll always be taken cared of and will never leave disappointed. The GM is such a wonderful women always good to see her walking around the store with her smile, and the most amazing SA Luke! His smile make your feel like your part of the Hermes team. Be sure to check out all floors as they have gifts and home items everyone wants! Who doesn't love seeing the traditional orange box for a gift!
