I had a Fall HVAC service for my furnace and humidifier. Nambi was my service provider and did an excellent job, replacing a water filter and recommended a lighter air filter that allows for better air flow for motor.
Area was clean after job completed.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0May 22, 2018Previous reviewI have been using Heatmasters for over ten years. They installed a new furnace and air condition for us and they do the yearly maintenance to ensure everything is clean and in working order.
Andy came today and recommended using a little vinegar or bleach in the drain pipe to prevent mold build-up which can clog the the drain. I am very satisfied with response times and quality of service. I can recommend them. - Norman M.Chicago, IL3315774Jan 1, 2024
After 40 years of having Heatmasters' service our furnaces we had a horrible experience with them. Our furnace was malfunctioning in November. It turned on then off after 10 seconds. A young technician spent over 2 hours with the unit. He suggested replacing various parts at outrageous prices. He said a certain part which had to be ordered might fix the unit. Neither he nor his boss guaranteed the part would work. The boss said the new part would cost $500!!!! An electrician friend examined my unit. He called the manufacturer. They suggested a certain part. I paid $65 for it. Later they sent me the same part for free. The electrician installed the $65 part and the furnace worked. If a qualified technician observes what is malfunctioning he should have an idea what is wrong. The young technician removed parts and later reinstalled them. This furnace should have been fixed in 30 minutes with the proper part. After 40 years we are finished with Heatmasters.

My mother had service for a simple heating element replacement. The part was a mere $120 , she was charged 864.00 , i understand some mark up but im sorry 30 minutes of time does not justify that much. Contacted manager to see what the cost was for and mind you she is 10min from the store. He proceeded to tell me time, truck, travel, part and insurance was what cost was and they are in line with all other companies. I'm sorry but nothing justifies that type of mark up. And repair did not take an hr and half. As they billed. Find a different company to get your work done. I'm a union employee and family is union. The union does not give you the right to over charge!!

I felt taken advantage of by Heatmasters. My upstairs blower was failing to turn on, which their technician diagnosed as a faulty igniter. They quoted me close to $600 for parts and labor. Shame on me, maybe, for not checking prices for that part online before going ahead with the job, but when I did afterward, I saw that an OEM igniter is about $60. The work took less than an hour, so I figure I got overcharged by maybe $200 - $300. Nor was this a night/weekend/emergency job. On top of that the technician installed the part poorly so that I had to call another company to fix it later. Wouldn't recommend.

I've used Heatmasters on my AC/Heating units for years on my rental property and now my condo. They have always been great to work with. David the Tech has always been very helpful in explaining the options.

Y'all, I have an update for you. The manager called me directly after my first critical review was posted. He offered me $65 to CHANE OR REMOVE MY REVIEW. I told him it was worth $65 to speak my mind.
Bottom line - you cannot believe any of these positive reviews. They might be bought and paid for.
I also feel really sorry for the tech that came out. Poor guy hates it there but has to pay his rent.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Jun 4, 2021Previous reviewJust needed a thermostat replaced but a $50 Honeywell basic thermostat costs $375!! But not if you have a maintenance contract! I don't need one, I tell them, and talk to the manager to bring the price down to $325. It's ridiculous. I felt like I was at the car dealership. We had a whole "I need to ask my manager" thing. Then when I protested about the costs, this guy tells me - I'm just a worker. I don't make the rules. It's a game you gotta be prepared to play.

Product and price were great, and the parts and labor warranty was 4 years longer than my other top quotes.

Poor communication and poor response from them, I saw other reviews with a similar issue. I've had my landline number for 15 years. And for 15 years, on and off, Heatmasters calls to speak to the person who had the phone number before me. We have asked them to update their records and stop calling, for 15 years later they can't get the point.

I scheduled a yearly maintenance on my AC unit 3 weeks ago. The appointment was for yesterday. They sent confirmation email the day before the appointment of time window noon-4. I took the afternoon off work and sat at home all day waiting for them to show. I called at 4:30 with no answer. I sent an email as well and no response. A courtesy call saying you won't be able to make the appointment would have been nice.

If you do business with this company expect to get sales calls from them over and over and over again from a woman named Rhona or Rhoda who will argue with you about what you need. It's been at least 10 years since I worked with them ONCE and they still call. Even if you don't own a property she will INSIST you need their service. I moved out of state and she still had me on the phone trying to find a way to get business out of me. Hopefully this time when I blocked their number it will work.
