This was a quaint very rustic place. It wasn't super busy at around 10:00 on Friday night except closest to the live band.  We sat at a large circular table towards the back of the room, had a few beers and just relaxed.

The service was pretty good, I think our server was a little stressed, she mentioned her tables had been rude, but we were just hanging out having a good time.  I felt our service was perfectly fine and the server was friendly.  They have a fairly decent selection of beers.  I tried some of my friends beers and like I said, I was ahppy with the selection.

I didn't try the food, just the drinks, but it had a nice ambience and was a fun hang out place.  I'll go back to this place again, maybe even order something to eat.

Oh shux, I love the pear cider here! Check out the wall in the bar- there is a gold plate with my mom's name on it. Her and her friends came to that one specific table at the Harmon so often, they got their own table.

Food is great., I'm sure I have tried most of the menu. I used to live over on East D street, and the Harmon was my go-to place for meeting people and bringing out of towners. The bar usually has a bucket of peanuts available for self-service. Try the sampler, it is totally worth the extra space in your tummy to just try a sip of all they have on tap. The fish tacos and pizza are off the chain. Once they had meatloaf on the menu- not sure if they still do. It was to die for.

I was pleasantly surprised with this place.  We had just finished checking out the Farmer's Market and by this time, we were starved.  My husband lived in Tacoma for 4 years and has always mentioned that he really liked this place, so we went here for our late lunch.

I ordered the fish and chips and I couldn't have been happier.  I was super excited that it was on the lunch special menu so it was almost half the cost that it normally  is.  I think it was just under 9 bucks.  The fish was breaded in a delicious bread crumb and some of the house brew as well.  My favorite part was that the batter was just there enough to give a great crunch and flavor to the fish, but it wasn't overpowering.  I must also add that when you cut into it, the fish didn't slide out from under the fork like it does at most places.  It was super yummy and the parmesan fries that were served with it were hot and crispy, perfect with some ranch dressing.

The service kind of sucked a little, especially because they had some special that before 3 you can get a 10 oz beer for a dollar and I would think that she would be trying to push that a little more.  Overall, a very pleasant dining experience with some great food!

I like this place. It's got a casual atmosphere and decent food. The location is great if you want to walk around downtown Tacoma afterwards - maybe grab a cupcake at Hello Cupcake a few stores down, walk on the Museum of Glass bridge down the street, or head up to The Swiss for a concert.

Location is about the only thing this place has going for it.

After cruising through the Glass Museum my fiance and I were STARVING.

I hold a special preference for brewery's and pub food so we headed over the glass bridge and into the awaiting arms of Harmon Brewery.

Decor was immediately enjoyable and after that, I didn't like anything.

Beer was served warm (eww - didn't drink it - tried to send it back and was told that was the way it was served at their establishment - double eww), wait staff was abrupt and slow despite it being a slow, late, weekday afternoon. Food was decent. Fries were crispy.

Overall, something I easily could have skipped. Subway several doors away would have been a MUCH better idea.

I sit here at the hub as I type this review.  A nice atmosphere.  4 times here now and always a good experience.  They have some pretty good beers on tap, and with a nice alcohol content to boot.

Tonight I had one of their Formaggio pizzas which was tasty.  A good selection of tea that they bring.  Although, I doubt many people come here for tea, as I don't, but...well, last night was heavy on the ETOH.

They have a few large screen TV's for the games, an area with a couple couches and chill chair...and a decent view of the sound, if I recall.  Ugh, memory haziness!  And, being that they have Wifi, it's a bonus...particularly when you are out of internet service!

Not feelin the love of this place at all.

First of all, let's talk the french fries. I know people have said they're good, and they are - but the fact that the three people in my party who ate fries (including me) were having simultaneous intestinal somersaults 20 minutes later says to me that they aren't something that's meant to be consumed by humans. But since another one of the 3 french fry eaters in the party gave this restaurant 5 stars despite this fact, your mileage / opinion may vary.

The service needs a major upgrade as well. The first thing our waitress said to us (in a snippy tone) was, "I need to see all of your IDs." And the friendliness went downhill from there, as she proceeded to forget things that my party asked for, and generally be rude the rest of the night.

I thought the rest of the food was pretty standard bar fare, which doesn't impress enough to warrant any more than 2 stars.

My husband and I stopped in around 5:30 for dinner.  The atmosphere is nice and Erica provided us with excellent service.  She was attentive but not a bugaboo.  The food (we both had a bacon cheeseburger) was delicious (I couldn't eat the last bite as the bread started to get soggy) and the price was reasonable.  My husband's beer was $3 (happy hour) and we would definitely go back again.

We came here for dinner with friends familiar with the place, and were not disappointed.

I had a beer flight, nachos, and the fish and chips; all of which were top notch.

The beer is one of the better microbrews that I've had in awhile, and the stout is probably my favorite ever.  I wonder if they ship to Omaha?

As for the food, the nacho's were piled high with great toppings and cooked just long enough to make everything melty and delicious without being all hard and crusty (an art form!).  My fish and chips were a great take on the idea, coated with breadcrumbs instead of a thick heavy batter, made the flavor of the fish really come through.  The star of the show, however, was the fries, coated with some sort of garlic, parmesan, salty goodness.

I'm amending this review because I forgot how bad our service was, really the only thing that marred the evening; and it's like I can give them the benefit of the doubt on that one, my friend who used to live upstairs said "Man, I lived upstairs, and drank the same thing here every night and she doesn't acknowledge that she's ever seen me before"

This is a must-stop for anyone traveling to Tacoma for whatever reason!

Good Pizza ... Poor Service!

I was served warm/flat beer and faced severe resistance from the waitress when I politely asked for a fresh one. She said that is how their beers are served. When I pointed out that another beer at our table had condensation on the glass and a foamy head, she didn't seem to understand. My beer was obviously unpurged line beer, or sitting out on a table for too long. Her resolution to the issue was to bring me a cold pint glass to poor the warm/flat beer into. She refused to bring me a fresh beer or take the beer off my bill. Any other brewery would have too much pride in their beer to allow a customer to drink one that way, and would gladly bring out a fresh beer.

I have always loved the Harmon Brewery and even their pub. Our daughter lives in Tacoma and we go every time we come down to see her. The food is okay and we've always thought they were one of the two genuinely under-appreciated breweries around (The other being Snoqualmie Falls Brewing). When our wine and beer shop in Woodinville was open, we sold their stuff in bottles. So, we're Harmon-friendly and have done, I think, more than our part to promote their brand. And I don't want what I'm about to say to be taken as a sign that I think you shouldn't go there and enjoy the place.

BUT...as we traveled from Bellevue, through Tacoma, to Poulsbo last weekend, my GF said she wanted to get two growlers of good beer to take to our daughter's to have with our pasta dinner. We had Mac & Jacks, Big Time Brewing, Laughing Buddha, Elysian, Big Al, Georgetown Brewing, Maritime Pacific, Elliott Bay Brewing, and Hale's more or less along the way to choose from and even said we'd be willing to take Route 18 to I-5 and go to the Rogue Issaquah Alehouse. I thought of Harmon and, since we hadn't been there for a while, I chose that.

We've bought growlers from at least a dozen regional microbrewers, from Boundary Bay in Bellingham to Iron Horse in Ellensburg. Not one of those - including the list I just mentioned - has ever charged more than $9 for a growler fill. EVER. Big Al, in fact, is selling a limited-run Belgian-style Tripel right now and charging $12 for that. I just signed the sales ticket at Harmon without looking at the total and went to the car with my jugs of Pinnacle Peak Pale Ale and Mild Thing, their seasonal English-style mild ale. Judye asked how much it came to and I pulled out the ticket. I almost wet myself: $28.19. I was so stunned that I called the number off the sales slip and asked if that was right. "Yep," I was told, "$12 for the Pinnacle and $14 for the Mild Thing." I figured they had charged me for the jugs, too. Nope. That's just reg'lar price.

Folks, I have no illusions, here. Harmon Brewing can and should charge whatever the frig they want for their beer. And I should have checked before buying it. But there is a local standard which everyone else observes and Harmon is much as DOUBLE many of the other brewers. Big Al Brewing, which I think is the best new brewery I've found maybe EVER, sells regular-production beers for $6. SIX BUX. It would have been well worth it to me to swing through White Center for a jug of that dazzling Abbey Wheat or the Charlie's 50th Anniversary Golden and spend $13-something versus $28.19. The Harmon beer was as great as it ever was but, also as ever, not any better than many, many of the other local micros.

With the atmosphere, food, beer, and service of Harmon, I can strongly recommend it to anyone visiting Tacoma. But get your beers by the pint. Served that way, it's about what the other breweries charge. Just don't get the growler. I know I won't...again.

The Harmon is more than the sum of its parts.  The food is only okay.  The beers are good, but not excellent.  The service is generally good.  But put it all together, and there's a catalytic interaction that makes The Harmon into the beating heart of this little section of Pacific.

The food is okay, but overpriced unless you get in at happy hour.  Look out for their daily specials which are a steal: Monday steak night, Sunday all-you-can-eat fish & chips, Friday a half a roasted chicken (!), and more...  I can also recommend the hot wings, coconut prawns, and porter chili.  The brewhouse salad is a good complement to any entree.  Just a little snackish?  Grab a free bowl of peanuts.

My favorite is always the IPA, and I also enjoy the ESB.  I'm not as into other styles of beer, but friends like the pale, the blond, and the porter.  Their seasonal selections offer some variety and can be really good.

The service, as I said, is generally good.  But this place has, hands-down, one of the best servers I've ever had.  Vanessa is awesome.  Always remembers my favorite drink (even after a long time away), always chipper, always attentive.  She sets the bar pretty high!

Bottom line, though, is that this place has personality.  Not everyone will be a fan, but I sure am.  Thank you, Harmon!

Harmon is a convenient place to stop on in for a beer and some grub before hitting a concert or show at the Tacoma Dome.  To be honest, there isn't really anything amazing about this place aside from the convenient location.  Just hop on the public transit train near the T-Dome, continue for 2 stops, jump out and it's a quick 2 minutes walk to the brewery.

My friends and I arrived a little before happy hour ended and scored sweet $3 beers, always an exciting time.  We were seated fairly quickly considering the massive crowd for Britney Spears, and found ourselves in a sea of 20-something girls.  Apparently that isn't the typical crowd because our waiter kept making off-hand comments like "You look like you're going to Britney," and commenting on how much we were ordering, as if it was absurd for a group of girls to eat a side salad and nachos!  God forbid...putting down the customer is always a sure fire way to score a big tip, right?  WRONG!!

I think I would come back here but only before a show, and pretty much only because the other food in the area (El Gaucho, Melting Pot, etc.) is considerably more expensive.

Personally, I was disappointed that their "bucket of sausage" or "pail of sausage" or whatever it was, did not, in fact, come in any type of deep container with a handle. It came on a plate. Weeeeak. Except that it was some of the best freaking sausage I've ever had! Ok, I'm exaggerating probably because this was our second brewery of the afternoon. We also had the hummus plate. Not the best I've had, but definitely edible. I think I was underwhelmed after the awesomeness of the bucket-less sausage.

Oh, we had beer too. Right-o. I sampled a few of their own brews before deciding on the porter. They had a special vanilla porter also, but I was partial to the regular. They had an amazing soundtrack too. Weird thing to notice, but it reminded me of summer drives with my dad, so it was a nice little flashback.

T-TOWN MAPLE BROWN ON TAP!!!

I REPEAT: T-TOWN MAPLE BROWN ON TAP!!!

Yes. YES. YESSSS!

Can you tell I'm excited? Ok, good... I love that stuff. And I think it's safe to say, I love this place.

A friend and I decided to stop in last night for a couple beers. Although I've been to The Harmon about a gazillion times, I had yet to sample the food. It always seemed overpriced and the free peanuts by the barrel would usually tide me over. Persuaded by a ravenous hunger, and my friend offering to foot the bill, I indulged in the pricey bar food.

Since I wasn't paying, I naturally ordered one of the cheapest things on the menu: the Brewin' Reuben for $8.99. It was good; fresh corned beef, melted Swiss cheese, sauerkraut and Thousand Island dressing on grilled marble rye, but I don't know if it was $8.99 good.

My friend ordered the Harmongous Burger: a gargantuan 3/4 pound burger topped with sauteed mushrooms, bacon, swiss and cheddar cheese for $11.99. Damn, does that boy have an appetite! I watched him polish off the entire thing, raving about how delicious it was in between bites. I got to try it though, before it disappeared, and it was as if we were reenacting a scene from Quentin Tarantino's film, Pulp Fiction:

Me: Can I have a taste of that? I'd like to know what a twelve dollar burger tastes like.
Him: Be my guest. You can use my fork*, I don't have cooties.
Me: Goddamn! That's a pretty fuckin' good burger!
Him: Told ya.
Me: I don't know if it's worth twelve dollars, but it's pretty fuckin' good.

End Scene.

They have a nice selection of burgers, sandwiches, salads and soups, stone baked pizzas and a variety of starters. Both the burgers and sandwiches come with a side of these amazingly delicious garlic parmesan fries. Very tasty, but quite spendy for pub food.

The beer, however, is the reason I love this place. Mt. Takhoma Blonde Ale, Pinnacle Peak Pale Ale, Brown's Point ESB, Puget Sound Porter (omg, yum!), Point Defiance IPA, and the seasonal stuff. Oh yeah, T-TOWN MAPLE BROWN ON TAP, in case you forgot.

Although their regular menu is pricier than I'd like, they do have deals! Happy Hour is from 3 to close on Mondays, 3-6 Tuesday through Friday, and all drinks are only $3. Throughout the working week, there are $3 daily drink specials (Tuesdays: Cosmopolitan, Friday: Jager Bomb, etc.).

During the HH on Monday, $3 steaks! And the HH Friday? $3 half chicken with their delectable house fries. Sunday, stuff yourself with all-you-can-eat fish and chips from open to close.

Their lunch menu (from 11am-2pm, Mon-Fri) offers meals for $8.88 and $1 ten oz. beers. Save your money, dolla dolla beers y'all!*

If you come at the right time, you can enjoy cheap drinks, excellent local brews, and tasty food without going broke. But be forewarned, the hours outside of HH will not be as friendly to your wallet.

* You have to use a knife and fork to eat the Harmongous Burger because it is that damn big.
* I love Wu-Tang. I couldn't help myself.

After visiting the Tacoma Museum, we walked down the street and picked this homey looking pub to eat at over the fancy neighboring Asian restaurants because we were dressed like bums.

The place was packed and we were seated right away.  I got the bacon burger and it came with garlic fries.  The burger was like any typical restaurant burger, but the garlic fries were good!

Our waitress was really nice and anticipated my every need.  The place got even more packed as we started eating and it got loud and boisterous.  Everyone was beer tasting and one man fell to the ground and took some dishes with him.

Although it was a positive experience, the place is just a regular pub, nothing stands out, food nor decor.  Next time I'm in the area, I'd probably forget I'd even eaten here.

This is a very solid 3 star review all around.

The pub is pretty cool, and is on a street with quite a few hip shops and what nots.  I really don't know Tacoma at all, but this seemed like a neat area.  The inside takes on an alpine skiing type theme, which kinda works, kinda doesn't.  Seating seemed adequate, and there were a variety of booths, high tops, tables, and the bar.

Tried tasters of the beers, and most sat in the "eh it's drinkable and doesn't particularly suck" category.  I had the ESB, and would order it again if I were to find myself there again.  They had a vanilla bean porter, which like every and all vanilla bean porters I've ever had, is really not as good as it sounds.  I think this is a specialty I'm just done trying.

We ordered the "bucket of sausage" which disappointingly came on a plate.  The bucket was in all honesty part of the appeal, so I was kind of bummed.  We also shared a hummus plate between the three of us.  I asked the waitress upon the arrival of our hummus plate if the cheese was feta or goat, and she replied "feta cheese IS goat cheese!"  Which I'm sorry is not accurate.  It turned out to be feta though... which is really a remarkably uninteresting little tidbit... but i digress.

Harmon doesn't do anything particularly bad or amazingly.  But it's a pretty standard brewpub with the standard offerings.  Worth checking out if you're a brewery enthusiast or are just in the area.

When I first moved here from NY, Harmon seemed like a big welcoming place that was casual.  I have been there afew times and though the beer is great I've never been that impressed.  I believe the draw to this place is the atmosphere that swings well with college kids and people who watch alot of prime-time TV.
STAFF:  The quality of the staff is a bit of a gamble.  We have had some wonderful service there and other times had staff that disappeared or spent time socializing with friends.
FOOD:   Lackluster.  Its the type of food you would find at "bar restaurants", a step up from a Chilis, TGI Fridays and others.  Please do not associate this with a gastropub (is there any in Tacoma?).
BEER:  Excellent, the saving grace of this place.

THE WORST THING:  I decided not to come back to Harmon after seeing a Nazi skinhead in the restaurant getting served.  He was clearly inked with an "88" on his neck (for Heil Hitler) and a White-Pride Worldwide patch and HE WAS BEING SERVED!!!  In NYC this guy would of been kicked out and had his ass kicked in!

Recommendations:  If want good food to go with good beer and a nicer atmosphere check out Paddy Coynes in Downtown Tacoma or Crown Bar on 6th ave.

Oregon Brew Crew Members made extra time on our 2008 Bus Tour of WA Breweries to make this site our lunch stop. It was competitive to get to some of the tasting pitchers, and all gave this site a Thumbs Up for great Menu - beautiful building -and decent beer...a  Brewery Trifecta!

(Engine House 9 up hill and across Tacoma town was more of a Brewery INfecta, sorry to say, tho it's a dang cute place. Try their  Barleywine perhaps, if you are a big beer lover;
or a Willamette Ale if still on, or another GUEST tap - for awhile)

We particularly liked the bigger Brews at Harmon, but we are Brewers from Beervana, after all, and some of the clean basic ales were just that - basic to us...probably great for beginners.  The Vanilla Porter and my Porter-infused Chili were indeed VERY tasty - and way cheaper than my friends huge fancy dinners. We were equally happy.

The bolder among us, OK, probably *everybody* who is not a beginner to Craft Brew, may want to taste their darker Ales, and ask about Imperial versions of their Brews before ordering a lighter-toned less exciting Pint.

Please consider a Cab, or take a bus, or buy a designated driver their dinner if you do this - and why not plan seasonal trips to Portland to do the big Brews up right? Our Beertenders are happy to provide tasters first and usually, more prompt service. (symptom of their success...and a busy lunch hour - so most were patient - but if you have a group, slower hours are better for booking, yes?)

I've tried really hard to like this place -- but after many tries, I just can't say that it's worth the time or the trip.

The service ranges from slow and cold to vaguely passable.  The food -- well, the nachos are huge but otherwise not exciting.  The pizza was okay if you think of it as bar food and don't measure it against dedicated pizza joints.  The garlic parmesan fries are genuinely good -- I'll give 'em that much...

So, that brings me to the beer...I've tried the Harmon's beer at least a dozen times here and at the hub, at all the various happy hours and birthday parties to which I've been convinced, coerced and cajoled into going.  I've really never been impressed with any of the varieties I've tried.  Seriously, all of them have a somewhat crisp carbonation to them and fall flat a split second after you taste it.  There's just nothing lasting or deep about them and that's really disappointing.  Especially with so many people claiming that the Harmon has such good beer...  I just don't get it.

A great place to have some food and a beer if you are visiting Tacoma.  Headed out the Museum of Glass, which is also a great place to spend some time.  Be sure to get their early in their opening to get a seat in the glassblowing studio, but back to this review.

Did a nice sampler for the beers.  Their blonde is excellent.  Did also enjoy their house porter.  Sad that I missed out on their speciality with madagascar vanilla influence to their porter, that would have probably made it even better.  All their beers were fairly light on the hops flavor.  I personally prefer my beer that way, but for those that are really going for the hops, it was on the lighter side,

Of note, their humus appetizer plate is fabulous.  I don't think I've ever had a better one...olive, peppers, cheese, artichokes, it was delicious.  Was full just on that and of course the drinks.

I love their vanilla porter & the seasonal stout which has so much alcohol per volume you can only get a 10oz glass....mmmmmmm. But I go for the free peanuts & the free appetizers from the Pub Club Card for drinking all of their beer. The service is the best in the bar, plus you get free peanuts.

Favorite food: Garlic parmesan fries, the Cobb Salad (w/spinach) and the HUGE plate of hummus.

One of the best things in downtown Tacoma. Great building, great beer, and food ranging from good to great. Very laid back and not inappropriate for families.

There's some cheap dishes that steal the show here. My favorite is the massive plate of nachos, but check out the all-you-can-eat fish and chips on Sundays.

My favorite beer is the puget sound porter, but they're all worth trying at the very least. Don't forget to ask about the seasonal beers, they're not on the menu and they're great. They sell their beers in bottles, too.

Memories...of living in the Harmon Building, stumbling out of the Harmon to drink and drive the elevator to go home...how hard is it to press the elevator button to go home? Every morning was greeted with smell of hops filling the air as you walked down Pacific Ave to get the morning espresso fix. Mmmm....

Mike Davis, the brew master, regularly puts out seasonal beers that make your tastebuds dance! Try the ski filled flight of their beers if you have a hard time making a decision on what beer to try! You can buy 22oz. bottles, growlers and kegs of beer to go! Yippee!

The family atmoshphere and music makes it a great place to hang for lunch or dinner, drink a few beers, and chow down on some yummy American fare. Reasonably priced. Daily specials like steak and garlic parm fries on Mondays! Garlic parm fries are oh so tasty! Finger lickin' good.

I wish I'd read the other reviews with suggestions for what to order!

When I came, the service was great and the decor was funky, but the food was lacking. I had the Cobb Salad for lunch. It was, at best, a boring garden salad with a tiny bit of bacon, undercooked-tasting chicken breast and a slice of avocado tossed on.

It was also a whopping $11.99, or $15 after tax and tip. Two strikes for overpriced and mediocre food.

Went last night for the Sunday all you can eat fish and chips! It was delicious. You definitely can get your moneys worth. Large pieces of tasty fish breaded in what I think is panko breadcrumbs?? You of course get "chips" which are fries with Parmesan along with a little bowl of coleslaw. Great tasting tartar sauce also. All very yummy! As for the beverages I only had water! I will be trying some beer on my next visit!

Yes, Beer only.

I remember many drunk studying nights here when I was in school at UWT. It was new in 1997 when I was there. Actually, I did all my book reading there and often met friends for bar hopping later. Never saw a live band though.

Did parking ever get better near the campus? It was horrendous when I was a student.

We are regulars here for happy hour. We take the bus downtown so as to not drink and drive, and it is impossible to find parking anyways. They have a beer club that awards free appetizers and 10 cent beers for drinking a certain amount of beer (over time). They might want to add a coupon for a liver transplant. Their pizza is pretty good and their burgers are OK. I like the Parmesan fries, but they have regular fries, also. We've yet to use our growing number of free appetizer coupons because all of their appetizers suck.

Ahhhh the Harmon, good times.  The food is okay, not great, but good.  Good drinks as well.  Vanessa is the best waitress ever.  I enjoy the Snorting Elk Salad.  Skip the nachos.  The fries are great as well.  Burgers are fair.  Overall good, good food and fun times.

The Harmon is a mixed blessing. A nice place to go have a great micro brew if your downtown, but the food is hit or miss pub fare. ( I usually enjoy the beers and skip the food alltogether.) At nights It can be a great place to bring a group - nice large tables and on-the-spot wait staff, but if there is live music you can pretty much forget about having a conversation even if you are in the back of the room.

I guess, If you are coming for beer and a show this place rocks, but if you want a nice meal and some quiet conversation (if there is live music that night), you may be dissappointed.

Not too shabby! Reminds me a lot of my favorite brewpub of all time, Barleys in Columbus Ohio. Nice selection of craft brewed beers, running from light to dark so there is something for every taste. I had the ESB which was great  and the Auld Bog Breath (a scotch ale) which was a little too much for me. The ESB was really nice, well balanced and a really enjoyable drink. The ABB was a well done scotch ale but I just didn't have the stomach for it last night. Food was pretty tasty too. We ordered some chicken nachos which could have been a meal for two people by itself. I also had the coconut prawns which came with a yummy polynesian sauce and some dirty rice. Really good stuff so bring your appetites! :-)

Good Brewpub at the heart of Tacoma, Right on the line of the Tacoma Light Rail System.  Lots of different beers brewed seasonally and you can buy bombers to go... Good happy hours, attentive staff ... the food is your standard brewpub food...

Good beer and good food.  It's a great place for lunch, especially if you're in a hurry.  Just call ahead and they'll have it ready.  It's usually pretty busy during happy hour which is a great deal.

My boyfriend and I went here last night becuase our usual spot was packed - we happened to get there with about 30 mins of happy hour.  We seated ourselves in the bar and waited........it didn't seem that busy but my man finally went up to the bar to order our drinks and ask about menus.  We both ordered $3 well drinks and they were stronger than most places.  Also, once we did get a waitress we asked a oouple of questions about what was best to eat and oddly, she didn't have much to say about the food and never really did give a recommendation.   Since appetizers were 1/2 off  we ordered the hummus platter and hot wings.  Yes, the hummus platter was pretty good size but not the best hummus and the veggies were kind of rubbery.  My man said the chicken wings were alright - not very spicy though, more like just a fried wing. I guess if you were just looking for some cheap bar food and decent drinks the happy hour is a good deal - but I don't think I would choose this place for anything other than that.

I didn't try too much in the way of food--I had a burger which, while good, was nothing compared to The Spar.  Their parmesan-garlic fries are great and the perfect complement to the pub's own brews.  We tried the sampler and my favorites (as well as the two types of beer I usually steer away from) were the ESB and the Puget Sound Porter.  The porter was smoky and lighter than most. Try the sampler for yourself--it's worth knowing exactly what beer you'll want to focus your energies on the next time you visit!
