Impressive! There is never a fee for entry and always has plenty of close parking to the entrance. For a dog park, this place is pretty cool. Let me explain - as Limuel G. wrote - the entrance is pretty cool. The walkway way is made of brick and there are two dog statues overlooking you. Once you enter the gates you will notice an area where you can wash your dog off (I have seen folks actually giving their dogs a bath there). You then have three options...
An area for dogs more than 25lbs (the biggest area within the park) - This enclosed area has two pavilions and each pavilion has a picnic table (not just some bench) and behind each pavilion is a doggy fountain. In addition, there are two other benches that are not under a pavilion for folks that want some sun action. The area is very well kept with sanitary bags available to pick up after your dog. You can also usually find a tennis ball or three so that you can play with your dog. What I also appreciate is that although the area is large it is also very open and circular so you never have to worry about losing sight of your dog.
An area for dogs less than 25lbs (the smallest in the park) - I have never been to this area as I have a large puppy but the area looks very well kept and also maintains a nice size portion so that you don't lose sight of your dog. There is also a pavilion in this section with a table.
An area for ALL size dogs with an obstacle course - I love this area as well, this area also has a pavilion with a table and a doggy fountain beside it. Another well kept area with your standard dog course where your dog jumps and runs through obstacles.
My only gripe is that the doggy fountains tend to overflow and cause a sloppy wet mess that your dog can possibly lay in.
All in all, I always interact with great dogs and owners here, I have never had a bad experience and have never stepped in poop which tells me that the people who come to this park actually care and have respect. I really, really appreciate the pavilions here (you can have a lovely lunch or conversation as your dog goes wild and you avoid the dreaded sun). I also appreciate how open this park is, you can stand up and see the entire park and no area is hidden. It seems whomever built this park really put alot of thought into it - not just for the dogs but for the owners.
Both you and your dog will love Happy Tails (trust me)!Helpful 5Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - 221281496Dec 20, 20235 check-ins
Really cute and well maintained dog park. Love their respectful 3 sections for small dogs, over 25 pounds, and mixed. Has park benches, and picnic tables if you're looking to bring human snacks too. Lots of free parking. My dog is happy here, which means I am happy here.

Great doggy park! First time coming here but, I felt in love with this place. My boy dexter, had a blast playing with all the other dogs!
I drove about 24 minutes and it was worth it 5x over.
It's definitely the disney world of all dog parks!! Many different fields ranging from small medium and large dogs so everyone is comfortable.
There were so many other dogs to see even if you dont have a dog. Great environment and great energy from real dog lovers. Have Fun Pooch Peeps!!!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - May 29, 2022
The 5 acres Happy Tails Dog Park is located in Seminole Park in Plantation. This is one of the nicest dog parks I have been to in south Florida. In addition to providing a place for your pup to play, the park is home to the Plantation Canine Unit.
Inside the dog park are three activity areas. These include a leash free run area for large dogs, an exercise area for agility training, and an area for smaller dogs that are twenty-five pounds or less.
Additional amenities at the park are restrooms and pavilions. The park is open every day from 7:00 AM until dusk every day, except for Wednesdays when it is open from 12 noon until dusk. During the year there are special events held here and vaccination clinics.
The park was full of dogs during my visit. Since the dogs are leash free you have to keep a close eye on what is going on but if you have a well behaved dog this could be a really fun place to visit and have your pooch play while meeting other dog parents.Helpful 89Thanks 1Love this 82Oh no 0 - Jackie T.Fort Lauderdale, FL1411Mar 3, 2024

By far this seems to be the best dog park in the area. Well maintained by a loyal and attentive crew, there is a nice mix of well behaved breeds visiting here it appears. Few sandy areas so the dogs stay relatively clean though shade can be hit or miss. There is often a nice breeze so that hot and muggy summer days may be more bearable than anticipated. The park has CCTV which provides a feeling of relative safety. Still, signs not to leave valuables in the car are obviously present. The park is shared with a public area for games, tennis and relaxing where dogs are not permitted.
The three Happy Tail areas cover small (up to 25lbs), large (25 lbs and over) and a training areas for dogs of any size. A wash area is available at the entrance. Small water fountains provide hydration in several spots. Plenty of free parking. No admission or permit required.Helpful 5Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - Fabienne B.Miami, FL1129411Sep 15, 2022

By far the best dog park I've been to in south Florida. Always clean and they have friendly dogs. I usually only go in the small area because some people bring big dogs in the medium area which can get dangerous. (I've seen it) there are 3 sections for a reason. If you have a Doberman or a pit bull please don't put it in a cage with 20 pound frenchies...
