I ordered takeout from here for the first time today and I generally liked it.
Very good eggplant with garlic sauce and egg rolls.
Many interesting dishes on the menu that I have not seen before at other local restaurants.
The online ordering system was actually very easy to use and I had no problems with my order.
The lady working the counter was serious, but she was very busy taking orders and phone calls. Some people take their work seriously and concentrate on it. Try to make her job easier by using their very useful online ordering system rather than calling the store.
I'm planning on returning soon.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Michelle V.Temple, PA171Nov 24, 2020
I placed an order that I literally read off of a list. While ordering the person who answered the phone was also on another phone & taking a counter order. She rushed me off the phone. When my order arrived I was missing items. I called immediately back to let them know. The same lady answers the phone. She yelled at me & told me I didn't order the items. I said yes I did, she got even louder & said you didn't order items. We were trying to support a local eateries during covid, apparently they don't need business Dont order from them unless you like your order wrong & then getting yell at!

Do not eat here I got food poisoning from wonton soup and sweet and sour chicken and the pork fried rice!

Yikes, some harsh reviews. Made me 2nd guess ordering from them. ChinaWok has been our go to and by far some of the best Chinese I've had hands down but they stopped delivering post Covid and it's a year later with little Chinese options. Finally decided to give Happy Garden a try and I'm so glad I did! Their food isn't comparable to ChinaWok but it's good enough. The lady answering the phone is pleasant enough, not sure why so many have an issue with her demeanor. My only con will be their fried foods are very greasy, like you can taste the grease after every bite. But overall I'm pleased with the quality of food and customer service. Don't let the 2 stars throw you off, give them a try!

Came in for take out food is ok, wouldn't make it one of my favorites. The boneless chicken seemed like it needed to be cooked more. The rice was good. Fried wonton was good. As I watched them prepare the food I wasn't too happy. They keep egg rolls and other types of food in plastic bins out in the open (not covered). Yes I still purchased the food but knowing what I saw and after eating I won't be back again. Two stars is very generous.

Probably my husband and i's favorite place to go. Pretty affordable and the family running the place is super nice. I always just get my extra spicy beef lo mein but he always gets the soup there 10/10

The Unhappy Garden. Waited almost two hours for delivery and live 2.5 miles away. Called for an update and they hang up, so we drove to the restaurant to get a refund for the charge and go elsewhere.
They refused to give us a refund as the driver/manager wouldn't be back for another 45 mins. Bad business.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Gerald B.Reading, PA09Mar 20, 2019
Was our go 2 place, however after asking them several times if they could cook the broccoli a little longer, and too no avail, had to go somewhere else. Good food, nice people, but poor understanding of customers requests.

Restaurant was empty. My two friends went in to order take out. One was translating for the other who does not speak English. The lady taking the order was very impatient and rude. She yelled at my friends for being slow so we left and went to China Wok down the street. There is nothing happy about about "Happy Garden"!

HAPPY garden? Depends on your definition of happy.
If its implies a 4 foot scowling pissed off looking woman, then certainly. For most of us, however, a smile goes a long way.
She was very snappish for no apparant reason, which explains how the whole restaurant was empty even though it was lunch time and should have been packed.
Plus when I got my food(to go obviously), she threw a pen and 2 receipts at me to sign and walked away without so much as a "Thank you."
The food was alright but I can find better service elsewhere with people who appreciate my money.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0
