When we bought our house, we noticed it didn't have AC installed but figured we'd be fine - we didn't have AC in Oakland so Martinez should be the same right? Well, after the warm weather last week we realized we weren't going to survive the summer with no AC. We called around a few different companies and ended up hiring Hammer's Heating and Air Conditioning to install an AC unit and hook it up to our existing furnace and central ducting. The owner Mike Hammer quoted us a very reasonable price, then came out today and did the entire job himself in a matter of hours, including installing a new smart thermostat and testing the whole system to make sure everything works. We now have a super efficient, slim Trane unit and are prepared for whatever weather gets thrown at us!

If you need help with your HVAC system stop looking for someone and call Mike. Truly, he is the best. He really helped our family when our system wasn't working and the house was so hot for my three month old and three year old. We had someone else tell us we needed to completely replace everything and that it would cost $30,000, but when Mike came over he found that the problem was very simple and overlooked by the other guy. We are so incredibly grateful for his great service, kindness, speedy response, and overall genuine and understanding demeanor. We will definitely be hiring him for all of our HVAC needs.

I waited to post until I had used both my furnace and my AC. I can say now that both work up to my high expectations! . I am from a small town and when I asked Mike if he guaranteed his work- he said "I live in Martinez"

I left him a vm message at 9, he called me back within 10 minutes and was at my house in 45 minutes. In one hour my furnace was fixed and serviced. He is excellent. Mike Hammer replaced our furnace and A/C-moving the AC to the side of the house. He was professional, quick, neat and very fairly priced. He set the thermostat with me so I could understand how to use it. I am VERY pleased with the job he did--and the price was significantly less than our first quote!!!! Also, the units he installed are equally high-rated with consumer reports as the brand the other guy was going to install. He was on time-came on the days he said he would-and I felt comfortable with him in the house with my husband gone.

Mike got our 25 year old furnace going after it failed in cold weather. He cautioned us that the old furnace might fail again. He gave us an estimate that was much lower than that from another company that gave us a hard sell. When the furnace failed again on a Monday, we asked Mike to replace it. He loaned us two portable heaters to help us get through until he could install the new furnace on Wednesday. The new furnace brings the house temperature up to the thermostat setting very quickly. Mike explained what we needed to know about using the new furnace. It is wonderful to find a businessman someone Mike who talks straight to the customer and gets the job done right.
