We live In Tucson. Today we had a resort day pass . We bought a spa day package with credit to the restaurant.
We were able to enjoy pool, also enjoyed bar service at the pool .
The massage I had was amazing! The spa area is next to the hacienda . After be being pampered, we had lunch at the restaurant.
The appetizer chips and salsa guacamole was amazing and worth every penny so fresh and delicious.
I had the red chili which came with calabazas and cheese and beans and hot flour tortillas.
If you come at 3 - 6 happy hour prices on drinks and appetizers. Wonderful place to have a nice break from life and enjoy this beautiful resort and its history.Helpful 0Thanks 1Love this 1Oh no 0Business owner information

Absolutely gorgeous property with three pools, one bar attached to one pool, stunning views and sunsets. One or two restaurants. The staff and customer service was superber. Property is really well taken care of.
This was a one night birthday gateway for my friend and we arrived little early and enjoyed the empty pool while our room was being prepared. The metal chairs around the pool were very hot and in my opinion another material chairs should be used, you can easily burn your skin on the chairs so be careful, you can drape a beach towel on them but the chairs should be different. The pool area had a small gym that had fresh water and snacs and spacious bathroom. There was also a shower so basically everything that you might need. The main door to the pool was very hard to open and at some point the key card stopped working and we had to call the reception desk to be let in by staff. The pool also had a jacuzzi on the property.
We had breakfast on the property and the waitress was fantastic but the coffee was terrible and vegan options were just mediocre or really non existent. It was disappointing that this beautiful property was lacking delicious coffee and at least one yummy vegan option for their guests.
The room - the nightly rate was close to $350 and I feel that the rate was too high for what we received, the bday girl wanted an outside shower but we received a room with a shower that was literally on our balcony, not what we had in mind. The room was ok size, there was no loveseat or a couch in the room so both of us can hang out and I feel that the bathroom was so much bigger comparing to the room itself. Since it was my friend's birthday, I thought that maybe the hotel would do something special, they left a happy birthday card and a birthday gift box that has pretzels inside, we had a good laugh about the pretzels, I think hotel can do better.
Also, the rug was shedding on one small size and I almost tripped on it, little small things that could have been improved that would have made the different between four and five star hotel.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1 - Nov 5, 2023
Every year we pick a place for a girls' weekend and we choose this location for this year's memorie maker. We arrived later than we wanted, and after making the two hour drive to the ranch, we finally arrived. When you drive up to the location, you are greeted with a beautiful landscape. The valet is there to meet you and attend to all your needs. We were starving, so we hopped over to the restaurant and where the not so pleasant atmosphere started. We were dressed casually, and the hostess looked us up and down, then rudely asking if we were looking for something more casual. We sat at the darkest and most back table the restaurant. The drinks and food were great, but after giving feedback about our greeting, we had two managers come to the table. The first manager handled it horrible, and the second, he was much more professional.
Pros:
Landscape areas are beautiful
The room was spacious for three and had a great view
Cons:
Pools were dirty with no service.
Staff was cold and unwelcoming for the majority of the stay.
The locations tries to play like a resort with high charges, but not a place we would ever return with limited amenities and very low "resort" type feeling.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1 - Jul 1, 2023
To say Hacienda Del Sol is gorgeous is an understatement. It takes the best of the Sonoran desert and packages it so neatly and perfectly that you never want to leave. Breathtaking views of the Catalinas and the city, lush grounds, iconic southwestern style architecture, and adequate acknowledgements of its historical past make this place truly one of a kind.
My husband and I have staycationed here twice now and we are looking forward to our next visit. Check in is easy breezy and I love the lobby area. A beautiful living room with a fireplace--which I think is all original from the 1929 construction--a cozy library--be sure to check out the hand carved beams on the ceiling-- and photographs that chronicle the evolution of this place. It started as a school for girls.
There are a variety of rooms. My husband and I have stayed in two different areas of the property and both offered aesthetics that are unique to our region of the world. Some rooms even make a nod to movie stars who used stay here--we stayed in the Lee Marvin room. On our second visit we stayed in a room on the west side (2) of the property, which had great views and its own patio area.
The pools. Wow. Three gorgeous pools to choose from. You can't go wrong. All offer fantastic views, and the Catalina pool conveniently has a bar on site.
The terrazza bar offers daily happy hour and live music. We haven't tried the spa but hope to in the future. There are also conference spaces so this would be an incredible place for a wedding or event. There's also a gift shop with lots of fun items! We picked up board books for my daughter and jewelry for me.
I can't say enough good things about this place. It personifies the magic of Tucson and the Sonoran desert and I'm so grateful we have this one of a kind, intimate, and gorgeous resort right in our backyard.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 1 - Lauren S.Tucson, AZ3811947Apr 5, 2024
Dining on the patio at Terraza has always been a favorite but out most recent experience was not good. It was a Friday and we had reservations for 4 ppl at 7pm. We first went to the bar at 645pm for a drink which took 15-20 minutes. (We were told the bar was busy but there were empty seats and tables in both the bar and restaurant so...?) After we were sat at our table we waited probably 10+ minutes for a drink menu, then waited another 15 minutes for drinks. Appetizers also took a long time to come out. Our waitress was pleasant but more in a family diner way, than a resort restaurant way. Many of our questions were answered with "I usually work breakfast" which meant she wasn't familiar with drinks or dessert or the dinner menu. To me, this is not her fault, but Hacienda del Sol's fault. Anyhow, by the time we finished dinner it was after 930. What was supposed to be a celebration turned out to be a frustrating evening. Unfortunately other reviews mention similar (Open Table). It would be nice if HDS took notice.

Just the most sirene resort in Central foothills. My partner and I have been here for many events, and each has been unique and beautiful. Recently, after a long week, we popped in for a drink and a light dinner. We got the burger and tje aquachiles. The aquachiles were perfectly flavored, and the fish was fresh. The burger filled us both and really hit the spot. I wasn't feeling great, and the bartender made me a hot toddy, and it was a perfect night cap. We felt like we got away in just a short dinner time frame.

Beautiful hotel with great rooms but very pricey. 5 days will cost over $3000. Nice hotel staff. The restaurant is nothing to brag about. Good expresso coffee and the breakfast is great, not so much the lunch or dinner menu. Overpriced as everything else at this place. It was an okay experience.

I can't even match words to the experience of staying at the Hacienda del Sol. The property is amazing and the gardens rival the best botanical gardens in the area. I do think that a change to some of the dining arrangements might be in order if this place wants to stay relevant - the tv-show piano arrangements and the menu don't quite fit the hacienda aesthetic - but the resort is just astounding and honestly its mesmerizing. I do confess to feeling conflicted about writing this review because I'd prefer to keep this place a secret but my loyalty to my fellow yelpers is strong! So do yourself an immense favor and skip the giant resorts to pick this beautiful oasis in the Catalina foothills; you will not regret the decision.

We decided to go yo the International Gem & Mineral Show and chose Hacienda Del Sol to stay at. The grounds and rooms are gorgeous. It's in yhe foothills and it's the desert in all its glory! The room was spacious, comfortable and had a great view! The grounds were lovely and there's lot of art sculptures. The room service was OK but we had to ask for salt, pepper and cream for coffee every morning. The rate is costly so I expected more in the service and amenities.
