We give this place 6 months before it turns into a full blown sharpie-eyebrow, silk shirt, 3 flowers wearing house of WAB.
I don't think the place has been open for too long. The interior is aight. The walls have pictures of famous latino artist and the music was blasting reggaeton, Merengue and Salsa. I can really do without the reggeaton.
With the name of Habana Sodo you'd think the food would be Cuban, but it was all 'new kitchen' mexican. Drinks are expensive. 5 bucks for a beer on Cinco de Mayo? wow. Crab cakes were frozen and over drenched in a thousand island, chipotle sauce, a sign of insecurity on the Chef's side. The coconut onion rings were okay, but store bought of course.
I couldn't wait to leave. We were the only table and there was more staff than patrons--not a good sign for profit margins.
The two stars are for the waiter, he was polite and very attentive. He only had one table, but whatever, he seemed nice.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 7Oh no 0 - Mary M.Seattle, WA1363137Jan 15, 2011
Great music and I don't think I have ever paid to get in. I had my 23rd birthday here and got the section upstairs. Don't really remember much of that night but I think I had fun? Place is really clean and no creepy wall flowers here. Dancy but not that fancy of a place = a fun time =) Tons of FREE parking outside! Why pay $18 to park in downtown or belltown when you can use that for a few drinks here?

I've been there just once - during their grand opening. The place struck me as very spacious and attractive, with a nice staff. With two dance floors, it offers some intriguing possibilities.
I'm afraid I didn't even try the food. In fact, I saw just one individual eating that night! But the big attraction was Salsa.
While some have deemed its location a handicap, it's actually kind of cool. It's very close to downtown in an area that's probably a lot cleaner and safer than Pioneer Square. There's a bus stop right outside with six routes to choose from.
I'm giving Habana Sodo four stars, but I suspect it will merit five stars after it finds its niche(s). Salsa, Bachata, Tango, Samba - the possibilities are exciting!

The club has great music. My friend checked her coat at the door, they didn't give out ticket's, and when we went back to get it we found out they gave it to someone else. The jacket was worth $200.00 and had her house key in the pocket. The people working at the club gave us the run around and said they couldn't do anything.
