fantastic food, great portions, excellent service, and lovely ambience. A little pricy but well worth splurging!

And a great menu.
This was my first visit (as I live in Deland) but I chose it as a 'destination restaurant " and was expecting great things,
Guru did not disappoint. I had my favorite: chicken tikka masala .
It was yummy, and we sampled 3 different naan breads; also excellent.
My only suggestion for improvement would be a lunch portion menu.
As, I had enough tikka masala for 3 people.

This place was a huge disappointment. The owner has chosen to classify everything as having gluten in it - even dishes that have no gluten.
It is one thing to be gluten friendly - it is quite another to completely lack tolerance for people who have allergies.
Avoid this place until the owner decides to stop being a jerk.

I first have to admit that I have never had the pleasure of dining at Guru in person: I didn't discover it until after I moved out of Clermont, and I rarely am in that area. But someday I will make the pilgrimage to Clermont to visit the place that has brought me so much food joy.

To explain to you how superior Guru Restaurant is to other Indian food options, I will not describe to you the specifics of the food (it's all great--you can't go wrong) but will instead tell you about two times I cried over Guru.

The first time was after I got home from a business trip. My plane from JFK to MCO got turned around 30 minutes into the flight and then we got stuck at JFK for 6 hours. The whole time I was thinking about how I couldn't wait to get home and order Guru on Uber Eats. The samosas were calling my name.

When we got home, we were devastated to find that Uber Eats would no longer deliver Guru to our home (at that time, in Windermere). Deeply sad but very hungry, we decided to try a different place. When my paneer dish arrived, I took a bite only to discover it was chicken, not paneer. I cried because I knew Guru would NEVER do that to me. Guru has a fantastic selection of vegetarian dishes and they ALWAYS get the order perfectly correct.

The second time I cried over Guru was this past Saturday evening. My parents were coming to visit (at our new home, Orlando). We hadn't had Guru in a very long time due to the distance. My mom mentioned that they had stopped in Clermont for dinner but were about to leave and head our way. I asked where they ate and my mom, oblivious, said "Guru." I absolutely lost my mind and started BEGGING her to bring us samosas (and paneer, and roti). Blessedly, she agreed and sat back down to order us takeout. She insisted it would be cold (but I knew better--Guru packages their to-go orders phenomenally).

When my parents arrived with the food, my wife and I stood in the kitchen and ate it right away. It was still the perfect temperature and just as delicious as I remembered. I can't remember if I've ever cried happy tears over a meal before, but I did that night.

Friendly service and the food is delicious. I did a to go order and they were so nice plus they gave me a FREE bottle of wine!! The food was well portioned and perfect amount of spice. The garlic naan was tender and so fresh! A little hard to find but don't skip out on this!

Ordered Lamb Rogan Josh, Beef Madras, Chicken Madras, chicken Hydra something other, and chicken Tandoori. The Tandoori was not as flavorful as the different curries and it was a bit dry.
I highly recommend this place though, it's a cute spot for lunch or dinner! The ladies and gentlemen there serving us were friendly and made recommendations. Lamb is always my favorite, so if you have never had it, this a good place to try it! Enjoy!

The only Indian restaurant that is local to me. Since moving to Florida, I nearly eat here once every week and a half and I love it so much! Staff is very friendly, ambiance is beautiful, and the food is good!

What I love about this Indian Restaurant is that they are not heavy on the spices at all. The taste of the food is bearable for anyone who is not all the way into spicy foods but craving Indian!

We have visited Guru a handful of times. We have gone as a family and with neighbors. Each time we have gone, we have said we need to go back more often.

The service is very attentive without being overbearing. The staff shares the duties of taking care of diners, so we had 2 or 3 different people check on us throughout the meal.

The servers also make sure that the spice level is right. The restaurant offers multiple levels of heat. When someone orders, they ask how hot you want it. They made sure my kids didn't get more than they wanted.

Everything we have ordered has been delicious. The portions are generous enough that we usually have leftovers.

The restaurant has a few decorations but is not over the top themed. It is just enough that you know it is an Indian restaurant without being bludgeoned with it.

Don't sleep on Guru's. We enjoyed some of the most authentic Indian food we've had - ever! Ask for recommendations from staff and you will experience dishes that will blow you away! We took half of our food home. We are already planning our next visit. We can't say enough about this place!

I was in Clermont for a field visit and after a long day, my coworker and I were in the mood for something delicious and comforting. My coworker is vegan so we needed to find a place that met his dietary requirements and Guru Indian Restaurant did just that!

We started off with the vegetable samosas and they were nice and crispy and paired well with both the chutney and tamarind sauce.

It has not been until recently that I have started to eat more Indian food so my judgement comes from only a few years of experience but I can assure you that Guru Indian Restaurant has some of the best Indian food I have even eaten!

I ordered the butter chicken and the spice and creaminess of the sauce mixed with the tenderness of the chicken is beyond words I can describe. Butter chicken is my ultimate go to when I eat Indian and still till this day Guru has served some of the best!

Additionally, I also ordered the chai tea and this was certainly the most authentic chai tea I've had - the spice was instant and it felt as if I was drinking a very powerful beverage.

My coworker was also in awe and claimed that the only con was that he lives too far from this place. We both claimed that if we are ever back in town that we would most certainly eat here again!

Overall, if looking for ABSOLUTELY AMAZING Indian food than please consider Guru Indian Restaurant and it will not disappoint you. I promise!
