I used to come here all the time as a kid and told my kids about how amazing this park was. I have not been here in over 20 years so started feeling like my stories where exaggerating. Finally took them on our recent vacation to Miami and this park was better than I remembered. Such an awesome park.

Very large park with several parking areas and different function sections. I walked around and saw a golf course, playground, lots of grass, mounting to go up on, and I walked 2 trails.
They have parking meters that didn't demand payment on my visit but I assume used on busy daysHelpful 5Thanks 0Love this 6Oh no 0 - 150223721146Jul 7, 2021
We were planning to kayak at Oleta River State Park, but it was too windy. I found this park when I was looking for something else to do nearby.
This park is huge. There's tons of parking in different areas of the park. I think you have to pay for all of it though.
We just walked around and explored the park for a while. The trees are gorgeous. One side of the park runs along the river too. There's a small hill/tower thing you can climb to the top of for good views of the area.
This is a great place to hang out and relax or go for a walk!Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 6Oh no 0 - Apr 18, 2022

I have not been in this park for several years but it still remains beautiful and very nice for walking. Today I came to meet a few friends for a bible study in the park and prayer time. Later on, I went for a walk and saw many ducks and iguanas.
Info on the park.
Greynolds Park
This 249-acre urban oasis was once the site of a rock quarry until the land was deeded to Dade County to become the third park in the newly formed county park system, opening to the public in 1936. Designated in 1983 as a historic site by the Miami-Dade County Historic Preservation Board and as a heritage site in 2004 by the Board of County Commissioners for its exceptional historic and archaeological significance, the park is most notable for the limestone rock structures built by the Civilian Conservation Corps., the Depression-era program responsible for the construction of many of the nation's treasured national parks and state parks. The park offers areas for group picnics, two playgrounds, walking paths and trails, and opportunities for bird-watching with scenic views of the Oleta River. A fishing dock, canoe/kayak launch, and bark park are also available at East Greynolds Park, a short distance from the main park. Camp Greynolds features an overnight camping facility with cabins, a bathhouse and a mess hall available for scout groups, non-profit organizations, and other organized groups with advanced reservations.
Come and have a nice picnic or walkHelpful 24Thanks 0Love this 19Oh no 0 - Angelica H.San Francisco, CA36111Nov 26, 2022
This is a very complicated review. As much as I lov this park I have to say that if you come here, come by walking. It is unbelievable that the city is charging for parking in a natural park, a place where kids, elderly, and adults need to retrieve and gain some emotional and mental balance to be able to go through the hard times we all are experiencing lately. $7.27 per hour, really
Isn't enough the taxes we pay to be able to enjoy these parks? That the city still need to charge more? It's time for the residents to protest against this; it's the only way to start making some needed changes around here.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 89248826Jun 21, 2021
This park is so enchanting with all the trees a c wildlife. It was so nice to see all the people out having picnics and parties. Lots of things do here from golf, to water activities. Multiple play grounds . It so spacious there is plenty of room for everyone.
We were invited to a birthday party and they had a HUGE bounce house and the shelters are a really nice size. Plenty of tables and garbage cans. Lots of space for the kids to run around and have fun. We saw so many birds, raccoons, iguanas, lizards and more!
Parking is great as well. It does have pay to park signs but no one paid for parking including myself and I did not see anyone the entire 4 hrs I was there checking to see if cars had paid.
Highly recommend for a family outing, outdoor date, jog or outdoor workout or even a spot to sit under trees and relax!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0Business owner information

This review is over due but I love Greynolds Park and feel safe whenever I visit this park. On my last visit to the park, I was helped by the Park Officer Bolden who was very nice to help me search for a lost item. I really appreciate his willingness to go above and beyond.

This park is great to walk for a few miles, this park has a playground for the kids to run, area for running and enjoy the green trees and grass. You do have to paid to park in order to avoid getting a ticket.

for more than 40 years greynolds are o was my favorite park
where all my kids and grandkids always celebrated there birthdays
today was treat very very bad and I was discriminated because I was latin
the person in charge of the park a very unrespectful man. saw us very early we where only 3 of us decorating the tables for my little grandaughther that vas turning 6
and he came to us and said you need to give me $110 dol if you are having a party .
we said is like 15 kids from the neighborhoid we live 3 blocks w away from park
he was very rude and said if you don't pay I call the police
he was just saying you Cubans think you can do anything here
but I am not Cuban , but that's not the point
the way he treat us and make us pay $110 dol only for using 2 fables is unacceptable
even the lady from the office apologized
this ranger need to get another job
not in a park where kids are leaving there dreams
it's not fair to treat us like this . and we where forced to pay
I walk to diferent party's in the park took names and pictures and ask them if they charged them $$
they all laugh and said no
it was just to us
this is very very sad .to have this kind of person taking care of a park
in this world we are all the same

This is a super nice park located very near to the Spanish Monastery, so worthy of a visit, ie two in one (see my other review for the spanish monastery) Here is some info about the park -
Greynolds Park was built by the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC), officially opening on March 29, 1936. Under the direction of landscape architect, William Lyman Phillip, the task force - a group of World War I veterans and unemployed teens - transformed an ugly landscape pockmarked with rock pits and refuse into an attractive public park. They built roads, trails, bridges and landscaping. Rock pits became cool, glistening lagoons. A boat house, caretaker's house and restrooms were fashioned from sturdy oolite. The hardwood hammock was left alone. One of the highlights of Greynolds Park is the climb to "the mound," a rocky elevation that served as the highest point in what was then Dade County. In 1968, more than 3,000 hippies converged on the park for an Easter "love-in," with music provided by the Grateful Dead. In the early 1970s, the park's wooded areas became a popular hangout for drug users, resulting in weekly large-scale drug raids and confrontations between police and teens. In 1983, the park was declared a historic site by the Historic Preservation Board. With its open air rookery, nature and bicycle trails, boat rentals and natural beauty, Greynolds Park remains one of Miami-Dade County's most valued public spaces.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0
