Horrible law shop. They are the Ross Dress for Less of law firms. Customers should be quite cautious, as this place wants to be paid in advance for hours not yet worked, and once paid simply are not available for questions. Our original attorney here quit (smart move), and we went with Begley instead. He never takes calls and doesn't bother returning messages. Shame on this place taking money from disabled senior citizen veterans, and then not providing services agreed upon. Will file complaint with Oregon Bar association..

In response to your comments, we are sorry that we are not ethically permitted to respond to your personal calls or questions. As you are not the client, this firm has not and will not provide any information regarding this matter to a third party without the express written consent and request of the client to release such information to you. This is in line with Oregon State Bar rules as it pertains to the family members of clients.
Furthermore, the information you requested from Mr. Begley constituted legal advice. Since Mr. Begley does not represent you, he is unable to advise you in this matter. Since the interests of the client are not necessarily aligned with the interests of their family members, it would have been both unethical and inappropriate to provide you with the requested information. Representing our clients' interests in an ethical fashion is always our first priority.
Pursuant to Oregon State Bar rules pertaining to client funds, any retainer funds received for services rendered are placed in a trust account until such time as work is complete, as is common practice for attorneys in most areas of law.
Under these circumstances, it is difficult to determine how one should respond when the dissatisfied party is not actually a client. However, we invite any client who believes they have received less than satisfactory service to reach out to our firm directly, as we are committed to ensuring our clients receive exceptional support. - Chris L.Westminster, CO05317Aug 24, 2018
Not good feeling after consult Kathryn wanted more money on 2 consult. Seemed money oriented not for my decisions. I get it you want your attorney to have your back. But she seemed into wanting me to pay. Went to McKinley and Irvin in Portland much better service less$ and felt secure

A poor review from a prospective client is always a concern, and I apologize for any misunderstanding concerning the purpose of my initial consultation.
Our firm offers a reduced rate for the initial consult where you met with one of our attorneys. This consultation allows the client to meet the attorney to determine if the client and attorney are a match. Family issues are very personal; not every attorney and client are a match for such a private relationship.
I also understand that people may forget to ask something at a consultation, and offer one follow-up email at no additional charge. I take my duties to our clients seriously so defining when we formally become a client's attorney is important. After that initial email, I encourage clients to select from one of our representation options (traditional full-scale representation, limited-scope representation, or coaching on an hourly basis) so that everyone understands what our role will be.
Attorneys are professionals, just like doctors or accountant who charge for their time and advice. When laying out a possible strategy, it is important that it is affordable and fits the client's needs. Law is not a one-size-fits-all situation so each representation is tailored to fit the needs and budget of each client. I also seek to provide a cost-benefit analysis so that clients can make informed decisions about what their various options might cost.
I am glad Chris has found an attorney who matches her needs and wish her well. ~ Kathryn Bourn - Julie C.Corbett, OR9133Jun 26, 2017

My brother and I needed to get a Power of Attorney drawn up in order to take care of my father's affairs because he was going into an assisted living facility. We came into Lillian's office without an appointment and she was kind enough to see us and listen to our needs. Knowing our situation, she got the process of interviewing our Dad and completing the document completed very quickly.
Lillian was truly a blessing to us when we needed one. We heartily recommend her to anyone needing a dedicated and caring attorney.
Thank you, Lillian!

My husband and I sought Lillians legal assistance when dealing with a situation. She was nothing short of being encouraging, respectful and asking the right questions that we would not of thought about. She was quick, on the ball and gave everything she had for our case. I woukd refer, and do refer this office to those of my friends and family that need legal advice and help.

If you want an attorney that has weak negotiation skills and rolls over in court, then this is your perfect attorney. She lost even the most simple parts of my case and could never be accused of being a zealous advocate for her client. Ms. Watson shows great strength in your in-office consultation with her, but once she is under pressure or in court everything folds and so does your chance of winning even the small points of negotiation. Furthermore, the excessive billing practices she uses are extreme and I feel I was billed for services that were not rendered. Had I to do my divorce over again I would most certainly have kept shopping for a better attorney.

I am sorry to say Gresham Family and Bankruptcy law did not work for me. When I first read the reviews, they seemed pretty good. I went in and they said they could help me file bankruptcy after my ex wife hung me out to dry. The first lady I met with told me to wait almost a year to file bankruptcy, so I did. Then I get a letter that she quit, and the owner Mrs. Watson was going to take over. I went in to talk with her and she didn't even know how to work the computer to run my bankruptcy formula. I decided to give her the benefit of the doubt. After she claimed to have run all my paperwork, the most she insisted she could do is file a chapter 13 on me. I new it couldn't be true, but she said she checked over and over again.
Luckily, I had a friend who is a lawyer and he gave me another lawyer's number. The new lawyer at a different office said I passed with flying colors. I had waited an entire year and had to pay many fees because of Lillian Watson. On top of it, she charged me $700 to run off copies of my paperwork. There are plenty of bankruptcy attorneys out there who will go out of their way to help you. I suggest shopping around first. I lost a lot of money that I did not have at the time because of this office, let alone they wanted to set me up in a chptr 13 for the next four years.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
