I'm so grateful to Dr. Horner and his staff. I fell last month, broke a finger, rearranged my knuckle and bent all my fingers backwards! Dr. Horner is kind, knowledgeable and patient! I was scared, and he put my mind at ease. He explained the timing of the healing and had his wonderful assistant put a removable cast on my arm and hand. He saw me every two weeks and now I'm out if my cast! Dr. Horner referred me to a physical therapist close to my home and wants to see me again to make sure I'm improving. Keep in mind, he's a surgeon and his office is busy, but Dr. Horner and his staff take the time to help each patient. I never want to fall again, but I know where I can get compassionate care - Dr Horner!

Dr. Horner was my surgeon and I suffered an injury known as a Scapholunate Dissociation. An injury in which I thought I would never be able to have a functional wrist/hand ever again. But here I am, 4 months later after surgery, with a wrist that is nearly fully functional! Dr. Horner is really down to earth and easy to talk to. I couldn't be happier with the results! Thanks again Dr. Horner!
Office & staff were also very nice and helpful!

After taking a horrific fall and shattering my wrist, I was referred to Dr Horner by another orthopedic hand specialist who looked at my X-rays and said "I don't feel comfortable touching you, I'm going to refer you to Dr Horner". Dr Horner was extremely professional, caring and supportive during my recovery process. External fixator to repair my wrist and 3 intrinsic releases for 3 of my fingers...all of this has given me a functional wrist and fingers! No, it's not perfect, but at least I have motion (the ER Doctor had prepped me to not expect much). I would DEFINITELY see Dr Horner again if a need arises!

Such a horrible experience at this office. Disrespectful staff specially the doctor's assistant. We waited over an hour and more after check in. This doc needs to review his business strategy and communication skills. I do not recommend him at all.

When our son seriously fractured his wrist, Dr. Horner was recommended to us as one of the best hand surgeons in the area. He was extremely thorough and patient when explaining issues, procedures and follow-up directions. We appreciated both his empathy for our son, as well as his opinion that the titanium plate should be removed after the bone was healed to ensure there would be no long-term problems from the metal. In addition, his Patient Care Coordinator, Sonia, was a tremendous support for us. She was very organized and responsive, and we were grateful for all her hand-holding.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Dan M.San Ramon, CA14Dec 20, 2016
I needed carpal tunnel surgery on both hands, and made the mistake of going to Dr. Horner. I guess he is an okay surgeon, but his bed side manner and timing were horrible. He was three hours late for my first surgery - and I tried to rationalize this as my surgery was scheduled for late morning and well, things can happen. But when I scheduled my second surgery, I scheduled it first thing in the morning thinking that I would not have to experience any delays. I was wrong - he showed up three hours late, again. After numerous requests to nurses at the surgery center for an explanation as to why my procedure was running late; one nurse told me that he is ALWAYS late. My initial office visit took over two and a half hours, my two follow up appointments were a long wait. At the latest follow up appointment, there were at least 6 other people waiting for him in the waiting room, we all started to share stories about our experiences - these stories were all the same - he is consistently late. So, I guess if your time means nothing to you, if you don't mind sitting on a gurney in a small pre-op room with an IV in your arm for three hours awaiting your surgery, then Dr. Horner is your man.

Dr. Horner was my surgeon when I severed three tendons and a nerve in my left hand, while I was finishing my bachelor's degree in music - piano performance - at Stanford University. I was horrified when I heard the ER doctor mention that I had severed at least one tendon, but after meeting Dr. Horner, i was immediately confident that I would be able to play the piano again.
Not only was he able to fix my hand, but I was up and performing with the Oakland East Bay Symphony in less than two years, post operation.
Cutting my hand was a very scary incident, but Dr. Horner was always very encouraging and optimistic that I would fully recover and be able to perform again. Sure enough, my career had not come to an end, and I am now teaching piano and still performing.
Bottom line - great skills, personable, and direct.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Denise M.San Ramon, CA26Jul 4, 2013
Dr. Horner is the best. I have been seeing Dr. Horner over the years for a crontic right shoulder impingement. This is something that I am just prone to and he has been able to get my shoulder back in working condition without having to do surgery. Because my shoulder was in pretty bad condition (Shoulder blade was frozen to my back, no movement of my arm and very painful) he had me go through intense physical therapy with his guidance. He even would come by the physical therapists when I was being worked on to see how it was going. He even did some manipulating of my shoulder too. What doctor takes that kind of interest in a patient. With his treatment I have been pain free and have had complete movement of my right arm/shoulder for over 10 years. Thank you Dr. Horner.
