This place is professional and clean. I've received two extremely helpful massages from one of the practitioners. I have reduced pain and I will definitely return. I really recommend.

TLDR: Owner actually said, "look, I'm not going to give you everything I've got. I have like four more clients after you."
Full review: My partner had recommended Greenleaf to me and I was excited to find an appointment with the owner Kelly before a stressful event I have coming up. I indicated on the form that I preferred mild to moderate pressure since I was a new client and didn't know what to expect. Everyone's experience of what pressure they like is different and communication is key. Once the service started, I asked for deeper pressure like she and the paperwork asked me to do.
On the first request I asked for moderate pressure because that's how the form described the pressure after 'mild'. She seemed annoyed, saying "I don't know what that means." I apologized and said, "I think an increase in pressure is okay." On the second request, she stopped abruptly and said,
"look, I'm not going to give you everything I've got. I have like four more clients after you."
I felt extremely vulnerable and stayed silent for the rest of the service. I tipped 25% and left feeling more stressed than when I arrived.
Needless to say, I won't be returning or referring. My partner was shocked she spoke to me that way and does not plan to return or refer moving forward.
I love supporting local businesses and easily could have become a monthly/bi-weekly client. Really bummed the owner thought that was an okay thing to say.Helpful 2Thanks 1Love this 0Oh no 0 - Blake Z.Pleasant Ridge, MI02Nov 4, 2023
I just got done with a massage with Blake and I was deeply disappointed I didn't get a deep tissue massage like I asked for and I felt like I should've had to even pay for the appointment and he was extremely late on top of that. It's too bad that I feel like this but I will definitely take my business somewhere else if you can't even get another massage therapist who can actually do

I have been coming to green leaf for a few years now and it has a very cozy feel. The staff makes me feel like family and Elizabeth gives the best deep tissue massages (the kind that hurt so good). She uses unscented oil/body butter and it doesn't leave residue on my clothes afterwards. The tables can be heated and they play soothing music, it is all very relaxing.
I have only seen one other masseuse but they each have different specialties so you are sure to find what you need. They also sell bulk packages that make getting regular massages much more affordable.Helpful 0Thanks 1Love this 0Oh no 1 - Diane B.Ferndale, MI01Jun 9, 2023
Greenleaf Bodywork was my first massage. It was such a great spa atmosphere. My compliments to the owner.

Elyse you ROCK!
It takes me a while to find someone that is a fit for me when it comes to getting a massage. And I didn't know who to go with since a lot of the reviews are 7 months to a year old. So I decided to just give it a try and let me tell you I did good lol, so happy with everything from start to finish. Can't wait to go back for my deep tissue massage because my body needs it. Elyse energy was so positive and really made me relax, you can also see her for Reiki.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 4Oh no 0 - Sol M.Los Angeles, CA4111Nov 10, 2022
Ok, so, I was visiting from California, the land of spas and massages and I came across this place. OMG! I got a special 60 min. massage for my lymph system and I left floating and glowing from it. Elyse Wade is a true healer, no doubt. Make sure to book while you can! Will be back when I'm in town for sure!

I had a deep tissue massage here years ago. I had a Younger massage therapist. It wasn't a bad Massage, but I don't feel it was worth $70.
The massage itself felt like what I would get at one of those membership chains. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't really very good either. It was not a deep tissue either. She did however asked me if the pressure was good and I did let her know that she could apply deeper and harder pressure. She tried to play a little deeper pressure, but it wasn't that significant and I didn't feel any less stressed or relieved of tension afterwards. Essentially felt about the same.
I realize that the price of a massage doesn't always guarantee that you'll get a great massage. I don't think it was bad, but it wasn't what I expected or wanted.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Amy P.Royal Oak, MI01Jun 10, 2022
I saw the email about Myoskeletal Alignment Therapy with Kelly a few days ago and decided to check it out. I've had severe reoccurring neck pain since my youngest child was born several years ago (note to self: it's easy to overlook proper posture when you are sleep deprived, already experience back pain, and are holding a baby and parenting a toddler). I haven't been able to be active and present in my life in a way that feels good to me.
I've tried multiple chiropractic visits, months of physical therapy, and at least 5 different massage therapists in hopes of eliminating the pain. A lot of these helped reduce the pain in the moment but they weren't sustainable. Anyway, I was hopeful going into my MAT appointment but tried to keep my expectations low.
Holy smokes. I left the appointment pain free and actually hopeful that MAT is going to target what is causing/perpetuating the pain rather than just the symptom of it. Kelly is a gem, and I am looking forward to continuing that work!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
