Been doing business with the Torrance Great Earth Vitamins since the Manhattan Beach store closed . Today 1/2023, I found that they moved out of the area but they are still in business. you can call them at 310-534-8494 or purchase online at www.greatearthtorrance.com.

*CONSUMER BEWARE*
PRODUCT TAMPERING. Broken seals on supplements and don't stand behind what they sell. They insult, yell, and berate their customers, then refuse refunds on the damaged products they sell. Owner called my boyfriend an asshole for asking for a refund.
I needed to purchase a supplement recommended by my medical team (I have debilitating chronic illnesses that impact my mobility and my ability to digest a lot of things). I hadn't been here before, but wanted to support a local business instead of going to Vitamin Shoppe.
*I could say that it was sketchy from the beginning (you have to go down an alley just to find the "entrance", you enter through the back door and what feels like someone's kitchen, the shop doesn't look anything like they present themselves online, and its dingy and dirty), but that would only be my subjective opinion and first impression.
I realize when I go to open the liquid supplement for the first time that the seal is not at all on the bottle. It is also damaged with some type of puncture and looked as if it had been removed then placed up into the cap to make it look sealed. This product was NOT AT ALL SAFE to consume.
When I called the first time to let them know I would be returning it, the man declined to give a refund and stated I could have store credit. I politely told him that I don't feel comfortable purchasing other products there and would just like my money back. He stated that I would have to come in 5 days later to speak with the owner.
Called a second time about 7 days later and was able to speak to the owner. She stated store credit only and proceeded to argue. She boldly asked "how do I know you didn't damage it?" The conversation ended with her stating that she would give a refund and called my boyfriend an asshole. I went in about 20 minutes later only for them to decline the refund and state store credit only.
I brought the product and the receipt with me (for proof and return of the product exactly as I had purchased it). They didn't ask to see the product, I just immediately got accused of damaging it myself. The employee got defensive and said that he just saw the owner and decided he wouldn't give a refund because we argued with her. I asked if he could please call her to confirm that she just said that she would authorize the refund. He refused saying "She's not coming back here for this", but I told him "I don't need her to come back, I need her to confirm what she just said to us". The man continued to obstinately refuse and began yelling at me. I called my boyfriend so upset and shaking because this man was yelling at me and calling me a liar. The man had the audacity to tell me "you could have done it yourself and rode around with it in your car". I asked him "why would I even do that? What would I possibly gain? This isn't a scam. It's simply damaged and unsafe." The man refused to listen to reason, I was getting more and more upset so I decided to leave, my boyfriend would call the owner later. But when I was walking to my car, the man yelled out the back door at me "ALL THIS FOR $20.00. YOU'RE NOT EVEN A REGULAR CUSTOMER!" So to receive an ounce of customer service, I have to be a regular....
*sidenote: I am not even 100lbs and this grown man was intentionally trying to intimidate me and bully me*
To say that I was upset, is an understatement. I have never been treated so poorly by company. I still have the product, it was never inspected or questioned by the people selling it. They immediately got defensive and ugly over there being a problem with something they sold. What kind of place treats their customers so terribly and doesn't stand behind their products?? What if one of their products was tampered with and made someone terribly sick, or worse?? There is no accountability, but at least I can share my experience and hope that it saves other people the grief.

Don't be mistaken by their fast ramblings. They will throw you under the bus. They do not have the mentality of "respect the customer" "customer is always right"
I purchased a product that is not sold everywhere. I called beforehand to make sure my drive will not be wasted. Steve said yes they do have them. I make my way to their store. Steve was very attentive and welcoming. He gave very good information about the products they have. I thought this was going to be my fave store! I purchased the product--steve said it was the last one. I asked him if we can open the box because I don't want to be taking home something that isn't what it looks to be. He opened it and showed me the bottle. Told me how to take it and all. I left feeling content about my expensive purchase ($100+).
I got home and opened the box, looked at the bottle and knew something was wrong. I realized the bottle says "SAMPLE SIZE NOT FOR INDIVIDUAL SALE" I called it in and Steve said to talk to the owner.
When I went back the day after, steve did not even want to talk to me. He said, "we don't take exchanges or returns" and I said I didn't get what I paid for. It was not the right bottle inside the box! He said "how do I know that you didn't switch it when you left the store?!?" I was speechless!
The person who was so nice and accommodating the day before is now a very cold salesman accusing person.
I was so mad that I just asked for a replacement (he offered a different brand) and left.
I called the original brand and they said I should've taken the bottle. They would've replaced it.

Amazing products and knowledgeable staff. I know everyone out there is talking about price, price and price. What people don't realize is that when they go to a lot of other stores and even online, they have no clue what they are getting. There are no explanations to the products and the usage and how effective the products are. If you want honest unbiased reviews of products that are not endorsed by pharmaceutical entities and lobbyist, Great Earth is the place. This store focuses on natural vitamins and supplements for daily maintenance of health. I stopped by several places before I walked into this store, (yes, I even researched on Amazon), Great Earth was able to pin point what I needed for my cognitive health and I am so happy with what I purchased. I used Alpha GPC and DMEA as recommended by Louis because she takes it herself. No side effects from the products unlike many other drugs endorsed by you know Who. (I don't mean Grinch from whoville).
If you simply want to know more about natural remedies or homeopathic medicine, simply talk to Louis, Steve or Craig. They are knowledgeable of their products. I know many of you are probably thinking, well homeopathic medicines are not recommended by FDA. Well, I grew up eating bear paw and snake bial to cure high fever. Those medicines were not prescribed by doctors but worked like a charm for my body. While Americans are suffering and spending so much money going to hospitals with their ailments and pain while receiving sub-par treatment, why not do your homework and try out natural products. Hint: the Egyptians, Chinese, Japanese, Koreans, Europeans, Southeast Asians - pretty much the rest of the world figured this out. Of course, if you have cancer, heart attack or any emergencies, GO TO A DARN HOSPITAL AND GET TREATMENT!
If you want preventive care and maintenance, take your vitamins, supplements and minerals. Why? Chances are you are not eating the right type of diet for your body. The thousands of dollars spent on health insurance and treatments should be spent on preventive care. We spend money on dental preventive maintenance but not on our own body. Now why is that? We just had the attendant give us the boot because he said we were wasting his time. I didn't know we were not allowed to compare prices. BTW, it's a lot less to get your supplements from Amazon! Thanks for the amazing customer service.

They have a great selection of supplements, however their customer service is crap! Go in get what you need and get out if you dare. I'd rather pay the 2 extra bucks at whole foods for better customer service as well as the guarantee whole foods provides. Customer service is important when it comes to vitamin stores, since some people are not so conversant on supplements!

I have visited this store a few times this store is awesome the people that run the store are so nice and they have super knowledge of all there products they sale I recommend this store to anyone that want great products great product information and friendly service .

Their knowledge is amazing and so helpful! They all know what they are recommending and how everything works together. I was blown away with the information they gave me. Things all made sense and they truly care about what you are trying to achieve and give you the best products to go about it. Even if I pay a few dollars more for an item the fact that they make sure I'm buying the right products is worth that to me. I've never been to a vitamin/supplement place that has all the added benefit of fantastic advise!

I liked the location of the store and the cleanliness. The staff is great too.
Why 3*s? Because in my opinion, I believe their prices are WAY EXPENSIVE!!!!
I bought some items with their new member discount of 25% and then came home and researched everything I bought. I also made a mental note of some other items when I was at the store and checked prices online.
Everything is 25-30% more expensive than online. I believe even Whole Foods is not that expensive.
If you need something urgently, go here but in the world of vitamins and healthy nutrition,I don't think there is no such thing as urgent.
